Competitive play is a different beast. Played casually at the start but now I play in tournaments and have started to place well. It takes a lot of practice and listing is so different.

You both need to come to Scotland as our scene is brilliant events welcome all levels and has the coolest event in my opinion which is Megatron.

I've been trying to do some more competitive lists. Something about the US rangers and that rule where they can get a head start move is so appealing to me. Would enjoy listening to the wishlisting for V3 bolt action.

Great video and big fan of both channels! Nothing wrong with competitive BA, it is just not a very good competitively designed and balanced game (traditional sense of points, rules and standard format to make it all easier). This is part of the reason, most competitive wargamers don't play the system; but also the charm of why most are attracted to the system (very good beer & pretzel design). Warlord can probably strike a better balance...let's see with 3.0.

The problem is when WAAC competive players show up to local tournaments with ridiculous lists. Most of us play Bolt Action to get away from the competitive player mindset. So yes competive players tend to be looked at very poorly. 40k is the competitive game, bolt action is for beer and tournaments are for seeing cool themed and painted armies. Seeing 60 spearmen and multiple Ho-Ros is BS and should be discouraged.

Just my 2 cents worth… I enjoy your battle reports because they are “historically “ themed. I would have little interest in seeing a tournament style game or list. I have played in a couple BA tournaments and it was not a great experience. Anyone is free to play their games as they see fit, but I do fear tournament play may have a negative effect on BA rules and changes going forward. Keep up the great gaming content you have now !

You mentioned about the interaction with the dice bag. Could you elaborate?

I have personally seen an irregularity in Warlord games order dice.

I think I was referring to the difference in number of dice for each player and how that affects how the game plays out.
