I have experienced a similar case where the new canes would become water soaked and die off. I tried to avoid them becoming wet and did not over water. Rather disappointing as I love a full pot.
hey Baotran, I know you didn't ask for advice, but here are a few thoughts: (take it or leave it) tons of keikis mean you are giving the plant too much water. the dry, winter rest will make the cane shrivel, and that is totally okay and normal. I wouldn't pot any dendrobium nobiles in peat moss--it will rot the roots by suffocating them. Try adding some chopped up sphagnum moss to your bark mix and maybe add some perlite. That will keep some moisture in there without there being too much moisture. as you know, dendrobium nobiles love to dry quickly. The other thought I had is that you overpotted your plants. Dendrobiums love to be potted in really small pots, and even though the canes are big, they like a tiny pot. I did this to my plant as well and it spent most of its energy growing roots. so maybe try potting your dens in a really small pot as an experiment! I hope this gives you some ideas, thanks for sharing! your plants are beautiful.
All the keikes on your nobiles are caused from watering and fertilizing at the wrong time. In seven years of growing nobiles I have only had one keikei. I really enjoy watching your videos.
I haven't any Dendrobium Nobiles in my collection but now after watching your video I'm inspired to buy one and give it a try. It will be outside and hopefully it will be fine. I also decided to buy a Cymbidium. Yours are looking so beautiful. Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
+MaryG Orchids Thanks Mary. I think they are on my top 10 orchids list. They do so well in many different environments. Plus they usually grow tall instead of wide so I can save some room.
Lovely nobilies , but I would advise removing the keiki s when the roots are long enough and create new plants and let the mother orchids recover their strength, which they are giving to their keikis until their removed.
* Sigh * I'm so envious of your dens. Mine bloomed nicely last year when I left her in the garden over the summer (but got infested with slugs and snails! Yuck!) so this year I kept her indoors, but dry over winter and I only have one bud :(
great video! I also put my dendrobrium nobile outside last year and I got great results. this year I have more dendrobriums to try, I'm just waiting till the weather gets a bit more settle here. we still having some frost nights. I also love the cute outfit.💜
Hello, I love your plants. I just got into collecting orchids about 4 months ago and I have fallen in love with their beauty. I have seen you do a few other videos and I enjoyed all of them. You just mentioned something about "the winter rest" what exactly does it mean? Thanks.
Hello Baotran I like your Dandrobium nobile videos I know you said you buy them at traderjoes I am lucky I can find one type of Dandrobium at my traderjoes at what time of the year did you get them thanks Ralph
Yes they love sun, I place mine by the window where sun shines the most during the morning, what I do is soaked the roots in water, no need to water them every day, mine are potted in peat moss, is it recommended to prune them or not? the person who sold two to my brother said, to place ice cubes over the roots, and not to water, also told him to prune them, I noticed that as soon the blooms fell off after beautifying the house with flowers, new babies were coming I am not pruning mine if is not required.
Hi Baotran! Odd question, but where do you get those plant hangers? I am in need of some and I prefer that style to the wire hangers I find at my local stores. Thanks and great video!
How cold can they be in the winter when they are drying out. Where do you live/raise your orchids? How cold does it get? I will be in S.F. for the orchid show in Feb, hope to see you there. Would live to trade you some magenta mobiles canes for whatever I grow that you would like. best
Girl, if you ever do a giveaway for the purple dendrobium nobile, I'm signing up - my favourite! Thanks for this informative video. PS: Your outfit and hair is on point!
Are you Vietnamese? tôi hi vọng thế!
You try really hard but you need to understand why a plant makes choices. The one with fungus did what it could to make its species survive. That plant is likely to die, fungus is nothing to mess with. Cut the keiki ASAP, treat it for fungus and quarantine both, probably get rid of the mother plant. Quarantine any plants with suspected fungus, actually best to eliminate them.
Hi Baotran. I really like your orchids. I tried looking up your eBay store but have no luck. Can you give me your store name? I looked up whitewaterlilies as a username and all I saw was a picture of a dog. I’m not sure if it’s you or not. Thanks.
Hey little Lady, you need more info for your orchards. I understand everyone needs to learn, that's why I'm giving you this helpful hint, you need to go visit orchidnature.com and watch Miss Orchid Girls UA-cam videos. She can answer all your questions, and dispell all your unknowns. Best of luck...
Wow... !!! My best friend, It's always great. We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks

Thank you Anna for your tips. I will try it when the blooms have dropped and do my next repot.
Hey Anna one question I've never understood. Why small pots? Mine amounted so I don't understand what you mean by that. Thank you

Really! No kidding tell me more! Lol

That's awesome! Both are hardy, like lots of light and a cold winter. I grow them together.
I love the D.nobiles. They are beautiful, some fragrant and very long losting! Thanks for sharing.
+MaryG Orchids Thanks Mary. I think they are on my top 10 orchids list. They do so well in many different environments. Plus they usually grow tall instead of wide so I can save some room.
Dendrbions Nobile are my favorite they like plenty of light
MaryG Orchids when new growth is dieing Rick L says it’s. nutrient problem
i saw that video at brad's greenhouse. it convinced me that my dendrobiums were not getting enough light. i hope I can get one to bloom this year
Burn those babies and they will bloom. Haha.
Great video, I just bough two and I can’t wait for the to bloom.
I just love the magenta nobile. Beautiful. Wish I could have one too
Thank you! Is it difficult to get them where you are?
+Baotran's Botanicals I have been looking for a while here in Australia, but it seems to be quite hard to get this colour. This is just magnificent.
you are precious! so much information and talent you offer. I am enjoying you very much
So beautiful... Nobiles... Wow....like it...
if you want a green flower try Cattleya 'Elmhurst', a splash petal, or Brassia 'Prince Boedecker'. The brassia is quite large when full grown.
Hi! I love Them too! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Beotran,I got one purple Dendrobium ,bought with blooms two years ago ,never bloomed have kikis.I am sad thanks for sharing this beauties,
Aww don't give up! Next winter just starve the heck out of it and don't give water at all. And also put it in super cold temps. Lol.

Aw thank you :D
Lovely nobilies , but I would advise removing the keiki s when the roots are long enough and create new plants and let the mother orchids recover their strength, which they are giving to their keikis until their removed.
Gorgeous! I'll def try to snag one when I see one! Great vid!
So glad I "convinced" you to get yourself one 😂

Yikes! Those slugs and snails can eat so fast! I lost a whole spike to a snail a few weeks ago.
what a cute outfit 👗
Thanks girl!

Thanks! Seems like the key is to give them a ton of light and then starve it to death in the winter lol!
Did you do the dry winter rest too? Did you see the video where he kept one inside and one outside? It was interesting
Wish I could find plant hangers like your white ones. Even when I see similar ones online they are expensive.
You're cuter than the flowers.
Hello, I love your plants. I just got into collecting orchids about 4 months ago and I have fallen in love with their beauty. I have seen you do a few other videos and I enjoyed all of them. You just mentioned something about "the winter rest" what exactly does it mean? Thanks.
I watched a video on dendrobiums yesterday. He said that dend. N do not need a winter rest like a lot of other dens
Not true.Read Travaldo's Blog(Google).

hey, this was a great video. how do you know if your orchid is getting sunburned? My dendrobium has yellow leaves when I put it in direct sunlight.
Hi Bao, I seem to have bad luck with den nobile. They seem to always get brown mushy canes. Have u ever encountered this problem?
Hi Baotran! Odd question, but where do you get those plant hangers? I am in need of some and I prefer that style to the wire hangers I find at my local stores. Thanks and great video!
I got them from GreenhouseMegastore.com. Check it out. Lots of different hangers.

Can i buy some cuttings with the green turning to white?
Nobiles are beautiful wish I could grow them .. Im a sad panda
Why not?
When do you remove the keikis's? Or should you just leave them on the mother plant?
You can remove the keikis when they have at least 3 roots that are 3 inches long. It's to make sure they have enough roots to survive on their own.
Ok thank you, it's because I did this and my mother plant died and so did the keiki, so I lost both ; (
It was an Epidendrum orchid
Where did you get the hangers?
hi in the winter do you water in bloom? thank you
If in flower,yes.
Are you Vietnamese? tôi hi vọng thế!
I am! But my Vietnamese isn't so good :( I can read what you wrote but can't write back so well.
