Windows 8.0 was practically unusable on a regular PC. Windows 8.1 could have worked- if they had automatically put Toolbar buttons in for the "Charms bar" functions. I suppose by that stage, anything called "Windows 8" was kryptonite. Microsoft definitely knew how to keep Apple in operation, didn't it- ME when Apple was on life support, Vista following on from XP and then Windows 8.0 to compete with OS X.
