  • In this video, I show you how I made my "Amethyst" melt and pour soap. Shiny, shimmery, and gemstone-y. :-)
    Where to find some of the items I used-
    Amethyst Fragrance Oil- www.brambleber...
    Queen's Purple Mica- www.brambleber...
    Fine Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter (holographic, NOT iridescent as I mistakenly said)- www.brambleber...
    Gemstone Mold- www.brambleber...
    12-Bar Square Silicone Mold- www.brambleber...
    Round Silicone Mold- I can not remember exactly where I got it from. However, a Google search of "Oval Silicone Mold" or "Domed Oval Silicone Mold" brought it up on eBay and Etsy.
    ________________________________________
    The Amethyst fragrance oil, gemstone mold, and Fine Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter was given to me by Bramble Berry to try out. Spicy Pinecone, LLC is not affiliated with Bramble Berry. I was not asked to make a video, all opinions expressed in this video are strictly my own.

    Hello from Canada. Beautiful video. Love how the whole thing looks easy for melt and pour. I have tried makking them but must admit you have to be confident of how to fix it if problrms occur. Also with MNP i find you have to be real swift. the fancier the soap you make the longer time you need to set aise esp for newbies I am saying this from experience. You make it look so easy . You have been doing it for long and it shows. NO SHAKY FINGERS / NO SWEARINGS / NO HUUIN AND PUFFIN. Can tell an expert from an amateur.I think i am gng to be lower than amateur level for a long long time. You are good. thks Sarah

    Approximately what temp is your base soap, 2nd soap and 3rd when you add them. I struggle with swirling in MP.

    Love the video! I am thinking about trying to do some melt and pour soaps myself, but tonight, as I was sitting here watching your video and then I was like "wait, did youtube change me to watching a 5-minute craft video?" when the music started as that's the same one from the 5-minute craft videos!

    Mix your Mica and Oxides with hot water rather than rubbing alcohol as they will dissolve in the water and not sit at the bottom of the container like they do with rubbing alcohol which then still leaves specks in the soap.

    • @Krissyb810
      @Krissyb810 7 років тому +2

      WhichoftheFavours ofyourLordwillyouDeny you can’t add water to m&p

    • @Whichofthefavors
      @Whichofthefavors 7 років тому +2

      Krissyb810 Why not? The melt and pour base has water in it. It does not effect the consistency of the finished soap. I make soap too and figured this was the best method for adding a Mica or Oxide.

    • @marysims4913
      @marysims4913 7 років тому +1

      How much water should we use?

    • @Whichofthefavors
      @Whichofthefavors 7 років тому +7

      Mary Sims No more than 1 tablespoon. As you add the hot water to the mica or oxide, you will see it dissolve instantly, therefore only a small amount is needed, swirl it around in the container or mix it using a toothpick or spoon and add to the soap straight away.

    I have a clear base and have leftover handmade soaps, some honey pieces, some goat's milk half bar, and a few pieces of strawberry that's a layered type.
    Can it add these to my base?

    So I made my own soap this past weekend and they turned out beautiful but the natural smell of the soap is more over powering than the fragrance oil. Is there a way to smell more of the fragrance oil then the soap smell? Sure Maybe change soaps? I used honey soap and shea butter soap.

      You can use 1 tbsp of water instead of alcohol, that will do well too. It is used to solve the mica
