IS KENYA TRAIN (SGR) THE BEST IN AFRICA?! VOI TO MOMBASA TRIP 🚆🤩!

Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway famously known as SGR was commissioned in 2017! The SGR is not a high speed train, it only goes upto 110 KM/HR and it takes 6 hours from Nairobi to Mombasa. It is however cheaper than flying in Kenya and usually fully booked especially during holiday seasons!
The train also goes through two different National Parks - Nairobi National Park and Tsavo National Park so animal sightings are very common!
We tried it for the first time ever from Voi to Mombasa and overall it was a great experience.

Am from Uganda, I used the SGR to Mombasa from Nairobi and on the return journey and it wad absolutely amazing, the beatiful scenery and views, the ride through the game parks, wow. The interactions with fellow passengers in the same cabins, they hygiene in the trains.

In the Nairobi terminus there are very clean toilets. I used it recently and maybe the exit you took. The Mombasa terminal has toilets which I used recently. 😊

Maybe it depends with the exit. Nairobi terminus exit is inside the terminus so you can access the toilets. In Mombasa we use a tunnel to exit and you cannot go back inside unless you go through security!
