Even if his military successes in Egypt were shut down by an epidemia, he managed to create a lot of animosity between the powers of Islam and was the first European to send an ambassy to the mongols, who later destroyed islam with the battle of Bagdad.

How did he create animosity between Muslims powers?

Then Mongols themselves became Muslims and somehow Islam is anything but destroyed

The Treaty of Paris was also a brilliant political move on Louis' part, in that it made Henry his vassal. Henry may have been able to keep Gascony, but he also lost Normandy, Anjou, Maine, and many other regions for good.

The Kings of England were of French origin and spoke only French. In reality, these territorial quarrels were 100% between French. This resulted in a 100-year war between cousins wanting to get the motherland .... waowww ^^

Wow. Learned something today: St. Louis was mostly a peacemaker (judging from this). I'd assumed he gained fame from battle in the Crusades because the depictions of him I grew up with (in St. Louis, MO) typically showed him wearing chain mail & carrying a sword. Yet I realize this video might only tell the positive side of his story. I will research more. Critical thinking is important!

funch357 He definitely wasn’t without major flaws
He would punish those who he felt were blasphemous to Catholicism by cutting off their lips and tongue

Real Crusades History Thank you. Your video's always make my day.
I had my nephew watching them for school the other day. He seemed to like them. he had the brainwashed view of how much better Islam was during these times.
Getting good information is like an up hill battle.

His crusade only lost because the commander of his cavalry betrayed his orders to return to the bridge crossing after disrupting the enemy, because of this when the enemy force grouped up with the main enemy army, Louis' army was split up three ways, one third cut off attacking the city, one third on one side of the bridge, and one third on the other side of the bridge
