Drew Allar just grew up, last Saturday. Before Saturday and with a Mike Yucich offense he would have folded and the Lions would have had another disappointing loss. With Koltenicki's offensive scheme Allar is allowed to become the good, but not great QB he should be. The whole team learned this last Saturday. USC could be 0-10 and still give Penn State almost more than they could handle. It's just one of those college football things which makes college football so great.
With six games on film, it’s time for mid season adjustments. This may be the last year the stars align before huge departures to the NFL. USC recognized Warren leaking out on the goal line. Need another goal line option that doesn’t a risk an interception. Maybe the stacked, overload formation to the right setting up the walk in touchdown. If Pribula is in, take Drew out. Put in a tight end to lead block/ catch. Another game getting gashed early and often. Give USC a ton of credit for team speed and some sick blocking playing complimentary football. Things settle down a bit when Carter is spying the play from the second level. Rojas hasn’t shown pursuit speed. Is Lane ready to take over strong safety and let Reed return to the box? Is time for Carter to move back? The other case for moving Carter, is USC’s heavy use of tackle-led wide zone. Nobody on the d-line is going to run down the stampede in backside pursuit. Rojas and the backers are getting caught in the wash. Carter needs to be a zip code closer to the play using the boundary.
Why didn’t they show the two most blatant pass interference calls I’ve ever seen that weren’t called, but helped to keep USC out of the end zone in overtime?
Not like usc blew a 14 point lead, couldn’t stop Penn state twice on 4th down, horrible clock management to end the game, missed fg in OT, usc holding not getting called all game but yes blame the 2 missed calls in OT
Probably the same reason they didn’t show the BS Offensive PI that stole 4pts from PSU first possession, the illegal Lineman downfield on one Trojan TD, or the half dozen uncalled blatant holds preventing Miller Moss sacks. Bad calls helped PSU win in OT. But even MORE bad calls earlier in game were only thing that prevented PSU winning in regulation before it ever got to OT.
