    You have an amazing backhand.

    Thanks for the video. I also realised both rackets were very similar in spec and deciding between them. Difficult to pick. I tend to choose the MP due to the heavier swing weight as I want a stable racket. What do u think?

    • @Tennisrally_
      @Tennisrally_  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, it is definitely more stable. I just enjoyed the feeling at impact and the placement of sweetspot better on the Radical. They play very similar and it doesn’t really matter which one you go for to me, maybe it’s more about looks and feel

      I ended up getting an extreme tour as I like the grey-yellow color, also I am single backhanded and I like players like musetti. It took me 2 hours to adapt to swinging a lighter racket (compared to Prostaff 97 315g). Once I mastered the throwing action I had good power and spin. The string does matter as I tried Head Lynx Tour string the first time and the string bed was stiff and I needed a damper to get a clean feel. I tried my friend’s extreme tour nite with Yonex poly tour pro string and I felt more touch and comfort.

    I like the Head radical mp, but I am going to demo other head rackets to see which other racket I can get just a little more spin.

      Maybe something in the Extreme line would suit

    Radical mp string recommendations, for someone not looking for something too stiff?

    I finally got around to demoing these two sticks recently. I have to say there is a big difference between them. I don't get hung-up on specs, but the 8pt SW is very noticeable (as it should be). The Radical MP is very head-heavy feeling, which is not surprising as it's a relatively light racket, with a relatively high SW (326). It's a nice stick, with good plough and control, but would be difficult to manouevre for many people. In contrast, the Extreme Tour is relatively easy to swing (318) compared to its weight, but still has nice power and control. I would say the ET is much more accessible for a wide range of players. They do 'feel' similar because presumably the graphite lay-ups are similar, but they don't swing similarly. Perhaps you got a heavy ET and a light RMP.

    • @Tennisrally_
      @Tennisrally_  2 роки тому

      I agree they don’t swing the same but in general they play very much alike. For me they performed equal in terms of playability, this will of course not be the case for everyone. I’m just charing my experience and point of view. Awesome you got to test them side by side

      @@Tennisrally_ Thanks for the reply. Yes, Head did a good demo-day at my club recently. I expect at your (high) level it is easy to adjust to them both, but for me the RMP was too heavy feeling so I couldn't move it to fast balls, whilst the ET was fine.

    Can you explain how you modified the Radical MP with lead tape?

    • @Tennisrally_
      @Tennisrally_  3 роки тому +1

      In this case I removed the base grip and applied a few grams below were the graphite of the racquet starts and then re-applied the grip. This won’t change the balance too much just a little and give it more overall weight

  • @fluffy_skye

    I like a headlight racket that swings through the air fast and a muted string bed feel which is comfortable for my arm. Does that mean the extreme tour is better suited for me?

    • @Tennisrally_
      @Tennisrally_  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, better than the Radical. If you’d like a even faster swinging racquet the Vcore 95 would be a great option.

    • @fluffy_skye

      @@Tennisrally_ What about the radical pro? As the pro has the same balance as extreme tour, only with the specs beefed up, can it be considered as a weighted up extreme tour?

    • @Tennisrally_
      @Tennisrally_  3 роки тому +1

      For sure but I felt that it was quite slow since the swingweight is considerably higher, would be better to weigh up the Extreme Tour in that case to keep some headlight feeling

    • @fluffy_skye
      @fluffy_skye 3 роки тому

      @@Tennisrally_ Thanks for the advice. I like the feel of my ET and it’s easy to use, but I think it would do better with more weight. So I’m looking for a weighted up version of ET. I’m looking for something new instead of just weighting up my ET because I don’t like it’s paint job 😂 and so that I could switch back to the ET when I’m tired. Do you have any suggestions in this spectrum? Thank you!

    • @Tennisrally_
      @Tennisrally_  3 роки тому +1

      That one is difficult, most racquets weigh 300-310 grams so a heavier racquet will be hard to achieve in stock form. I think the best is just to weigh it up since you do like how the racquet plays

    I made my Extreme Tour with 309gr/ 291SW(31,3 cm Balance (unstrung) and i plays great.
    What strings did you use for the comparison? Which string do you prefer in Extreme Tour?
    I‘ve recently switched to the Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour. Great Combo!

    • @Tennisrally_
      @Tennisrally_  2 роки тому

      In have tried it with Head Hawk and Lynx Tour (around 53lbs) . Preferred it with Hawk Touch. So a poly that’s a not to harsh and stiff I think suits best for all around playability. Haven’t tried the Tourna but I’ve heard a lot of great stuff from it.

    Is Radical‘s sweetspot higher up in the racquet than the extreme‘s one, or is it the other way around?

    • @Tennisrally_
      @Tennisrally_  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah I feel like the sweetspot is slightly higher up in the radical, not high up as in a Gravity racquet but higher then the Extreme Tour
