After playing the closed beta. I completely agree with you but I think as the average player or even thinking back to being a kid those extra sound effects might just give more character to the game honestly
For the TCM part of the vid, they are playing with sequential gearbox. There is the green little dot indicating he is at least in manual, and you can hear and see how for example with the Urus, he shifts too early for the first 3 gears with the 4th gear being longer in consequence
Yea I can't lie I'm not a fan that every car sounds like a sequential gearbox especially the fact that you can hear that shift sound in the third person view. It makes in unrealistic. The Crew 2 had better sound for the shifting part as cars with paddle shifter you would hear a click and h pattern would have a shift knob sound but you would only hear it the first person view. I hope they change it because it makes every car sound very aggressive

On real life you have some chance of recovering, on TCM as soon as you spin on dirt/mud, it's over.
Motorfest sounds a lot better, there are some cars with innacurate sounds (supra MK5, F1, P1,Carrera GT) but the rest is very good, even the turbo spools and chirps. Forza needs to step up asap, there are a lot of inconsistencies regarding car sounds
I'd say that TC Motorfest really sounds like pure sound, while Forza Horizon sounds like you're listening with earphones even when your'e listening with headphones. And on TC Motorfest you can actually hear how the car behaves and the sounds from the parts of the car are not the same on each car. One simple example is at 2:30 with the Fairlady Z, you can actually hear the car "struggling" a little bit just after you shifted the gear up, while on Forza it just sounds like every other car shifting.
The car sound in forza horizon are actually from a distance. The car sound in The Crew is next to your ear. The engine of a car is not next to your ear so. And there is wind sound in the crew just your car.
The crew feel more like they actually recorded cars for the game ( not saying they did or didn’t) but they come off a little bit less computer generated and more realistic I found myself driving in the beta for hours just listening to the cars something I don’t do a lot in forza. FH5 definitely still has some of the best car sounds in the franchise and I don’t think they did a bad job I just think the crew did a great job
I like TCM's take on electric car sounds, makes them a bit more enjoyable to drive. Also like how most cars sound throaty and bassy. I admire FH5's raytraced audio, while some cars don't sound as good imo (ain't a fan of how some cars sound way too raspy), you still get to enjoy some cars that sound good and feel immersed with the sound bouncing on walls, buildings, etc. Backfire is kind of annoying tho lol
I do like the sounds of old V8's in this game but i'm not quite so sure about the ev's did you heared the lotus evija sounds like it has a combustion engine @8:56
Forza Horizon needs some tweaks. One of them is improving gear changes, it seems that all cars use the same transmission, which is not true. A Lamborghini doesn't change gears like a Ferrari. For example, an Aventador that has those "slow" shifts and an 812 superfast, which on the other hand has extremely fast shifts. I don't feel that difference in fh5.
Tcm feels like the sound has more layers and is full, like well made music, forza sounds a bit flat without too much depth to the sound, but the sound themselves can be better sometimes, if that makes sense
I was gladly surprised with Motorfest sounds, when I played the beta I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was so gladly surprised when I started playing, the gameplay was great and fun, and after a while when I payed attention to the car sounds, holy, they are so good, even the electric cars sounded amazing. The Crew M is more fun sounding at the cost of realism. FH5 is definitely more accurate for the most part but I definitely can appreciate what ubi has done given how poor most sounds were in The Crew 2.
TCM sounds good, but it lacks environmental car noises, like a tires rolling sound. Because of that cars in TCM sounds like driving in vacuum and not on the road.
The crew motorfest nailed the sound ngl. The thing that annoys me is when vehicles upshift it sounds like a gunshot between the gears.i hope it gets fixed before September
@@FiatUno2003most supercars/old cars w manuals shifter does that heavy mechanical sound, so it’s not a problem at all, also since it’s a game where basically no car will be left stock mostly the mechanical sound gives some race shifter feelings
Surprisingly the crew Came a long way with motorfest! Compared to its previous release the crew 2. either game Forza or the crew motorfest both are a excellent selections. Some sound better on Forza while others sound much better on crew motorfest. My takeaway either one should be good 👍.
I low the hollowness of the crews car sounds but Forza has the range of the engine if that makes any sense. If they were to combine those things would probably be the best sounding game ever. Imo
Coming from a FH fan, TCM sounds amazing but them up shifts are overdone in my opinion, although I get it that it gives banging them gears more character
They trade blows but Forza sounds more realistic and sometimes that isn’t exciting. The Crew adds a little spice that’s pleasing but not realistic. On a separate note, the Carrier GT and 350Z on The Crew are sooooo off
tcm sounds insane, but forza definitely isnt trash. Some sounds are more different than others, but tcm 10/10. For example 4:01 mclaren in forza is way better but at 0:27 the huracan sounds way better in tcm because of the shifts. Both games have good car sounds.
the crew, with the exception of a few vehicles, sounds better IMO. Their EV sounds are WAY off though, way too loud. I guess that was a choice by the devs since evs generally sound pretty soul less.
I like the freedom that IVT Took on The Crew Motorfest for electric cars, as they do not sound at all ( excpet some ) they really have cool electric wine sound in Motorfest, thats stunning!
motorfest outperformed horizon 5 in terms of sounds especially V8s. I was never a fan of the crew and newer NFS before but this game makes me feel like I want to play it.
fh5 sounds more realistic in most cases, but TCM does a great job overall. that said, the shift sounds are a bit much lol also, v8s sound infinitely better in TCM with the exception of a few.
Gotta say that Motorfest seems better than i thought; smaller map for better details, awesome car sounds and better handling than previous games. Ubisoft is known from making mediocre games so its good to see them actually trying for once.
It is night and day how much better TCM sounds. Even if the sounds aren't totally accurate to real life, they're COOL. They have presence. And the shifting sounds are very organic sounding
Motorfest' sounds are a lot more refined, you can really hear the bass well, unlike Forza which only simulate the mid range sounds. That's what mainly sets apart the sound quality. Forza's sounds is much more boring, dull and empty.
I love forza but I have to say tcm has done a very good job even though a few of them aren’t very accurate but this is also true for fh5. One thing about fh5 is that a lot of the cars lack bass, in that aspect tcm is a lot better! Also did every car in fh5 have stock exhausts?
I've said it alot and you may have seen me around but aive started saying the audio mixing dude that did the sounds for FH5 is old cause istg there isn't ANY bass in alot of the cars.
Man, TCM came out swinging with this installment! TC2 didn’t have many good-sounding cars unfortunately. Some notable exceptions were the F40 C, the CGT, and a few others. This game has taken it to the next-level. A lot of the sounds are crisper than the Horizon sounds, and I am a big fan of the turbocharger induction noises, more than the latest horizon game. However, I wish there were different induction noises than the same one that I’ve seen across the board. The straight-cut gear whine is also a welcome addition to the racing vehicles in TCM. Great sounds across the board. Unfortunately however, cars like the P1, F1, and Mk5 Supra sound nothing like their real-life counterparts. Not sure if TCM was able to record accurate McLaren sounds, but hopefully that will all be fixed in a patch. Also, neither game has gotten the sound of the Jesko right. Both models sound like a regular V8, meanwhile the real car is a high-revving flat-plane V8. I do like however that in TCM, the jesko’s digital display actually stays locked to the horizon with the turning of the wheel, similar to the Project Cars 3 Jesko. Horizon’s Jesko does not have that feature.
Both games sound good, but TCM really nailed it with this one. Horizon 5 sounds good, but the cars in there have always sounded "Robotic" to me. TCM fixes that. Hope it makes it to the actual game. Cant wait to see when its out of beta and the game releases.
There's something off with the sounds from The Crew in my opinion. Almost like there's some kind of artificial effects. I think FH5's sounds are more realistic. I think though that the sounds from The Crew achieve what they were trying to do. They fit the tone of the whole game. Both studios did a great job. But FH5's sounds could be better for what it is.
As a Forza player, TCM sounds are a 10/10. Tge gear shift sounds are what makes them so pleasing to hear

Physics need a little rework, also it feels like the cars have the gravity of Jupiter, and when u accidentally go offroad the cars enter a fixed drifting state that you can't recover from, like driving on soap.
Alright manhunt fan
@@Dustparticle000 butthurt much
Bruh! The 918 sounded amazing, wtf?
@@ralcolfwolfcoon8207 oh it does
Oh. Nvm. Thought you said it sounded bad. Mb.
Nah the deceleration sound of the evija is crazy 8:57
Crew Motorfest is KILLING IT
The gear shifting spunds in tcm are just addictive 🤩
This plus the way more versatile gameplay makes me prefer it to FH5 to be honest
And unrealistic not every car has a weird shake when they shift lol
5:12 just had a fucking heart attack
The crew feel more like they actually recorded cars for the game ( not saying they did or didn’t) but they come off a little bit less computer generated and more realistic I found myself driving in the beta for hours just listening to the cars something I don’t do a lot in forza. FH5 definitely still has some of the best car sounds in the franchise and I don’t think they did a bad job I just think the crew did a great job
You also love driving in motorfest because the map is 5x times better
Exactly. Forza sounds like it is using an almost synthetic type of audio. Like it was digitally constructed instead of raw natural audio.
The sounds of fh5 are a bit more detailed but ngl I prefer the base tone of tcm, like damn that gt3 rs sound great
Fr
OOOOOO THAT SHIFT SOUND IN TCM IS VICIOUS!!!! OOOOOO GOOSEBUMPS
Sounds like spaceship. Boring as always
So glad the crew cars don’t sound like a vacuum anymore
I think it was cuz the map was too big for better sounds
EVs sound a bit more exciting in Motorfest, but both games sound pretty accurate and pretty good, can't pick a clear winner here
I do like the sounds of old V8's in this game but i'm not quite so sure about the ev's did you heared the lotus evija sounds like it has a combustion engine @8:56
Tbh, I'm not surprised that the sounds in The Crew are better. 🤷♂️
Thank you for using performance mode like a decent member of society
Could you make a comparison between Motorfest and GT7?
💀
Motorfest obliterates lol
Forza Horizon needs some tweaks. One of them is improving gear changes, it seems that all cars use the same transmission, which is not true. A Lamborghini doesn't change gears like a Ferrari. For example, an Aventador that has those "slow" shifts and an 812 superfast, which on the other hand has extremely fast shifts. I don't feel that difference in fh5.
Some of the TCM sounds remind me of mid to late 2000's NFS games, so that is an instant hit right there.
forza needs to step up with the sound
Tcm feels like the sound has more layers and is full, like well made music, forza sounds a bit flat without too much depth to the sound, but the sound themselves can be better sometimes, if that makes sense
Finally a wake up call for forza horizon!
What a shame the beta ended, I really enjoyed it much, it's been a long while since I had this fun with a racing game
0:52 Forzas r34
4:18 TCMs Maserati gt
Chefs kiss
I feel like The Crew got a lot more details in the sound on many cars
9:24 what a sound 🤩
Let’s all be honest both of these game has came a very long way with the car sounds so I’m impressed by both and I love playing both games
Can’t lie, Motorfest sounds have more bass and Forza sounds have more treble lol that’s the biggest difference for me
The Crew Motorfest just steamrolled Forza Horizon 5 in the sound department
Some cars sound better in FH5, others in TCM and vice versa
Everyone is comparing sound ect.. How many cars does crew mf have and how many does forza have (above 600)...
@@godlyname8544 currently forza has more cars but the game has been out for a while, the crew motorfest hasnt come out fully yet so there wont be as many cars at launch but later there might be more.🙂
@@godlyname8544Why does a game need so many cars when people are not gonna use them anyway
@@seb.mtbs1tbf, the crew combines cars together to save space. Rather than doing the Forza route and having 20 odd challengers, there's a Hellcat which is also a scat pack, RT shaker, Hellcat widebody, shaker widebody and a jailbreak
Just glad they finally figured out gearshifts in TC
Best Purple channel uploaded a BANGER as always 💪🏻💯🔥
Bro I wasn't sure of buying tcm because I already have horizon 5 but your little video here convinced me to buy it so here's my subscription as thank you 😆😁
Okay, both does the job BUT i think we go here with two separate ways of sound creating.
One group demands realistic car sound and second group wants cool car sound
TCM does good job in terms of realistic sound, but R34 and F1 for example just sounds cooler in FH5.
5:09 CAN WE APPRECIATE THE RESTING LEFT HAND WHILE YOU CRUISE IN OLD SHELBY?
The Crew M is more fun sounding at the cost of realism. FH5 is definitely more accurate for the most part but I definitely can appreciate what ubi has done given how poor most sounds were in The Crew 2.
To be honest Crew Motor fest absolutely walked FH5 with every single car
TCM has some incredible sounds, I think if you keep some sounds of both games and add a bit of the shifts sounds of TCM it’s a perfect mix
You never driven a manual before lol and it’s sounds so much more satisfying then dull forza upshift
@@ArthurWerkzTVyou clearly never drove a manual either cause not every car does that
I love it tbh
@ArthurWerkzTV bro thinks manual cars sounds like a gunshot when you upshift💀nah my boii go to sleep
@@FiatUno2003most supercars/old cars w manuals shifter does that heavy mechanical sound, so it’s not a problem at all, also since it’s a game where basically no car will be left stock mostly the mechanical sound gives some race shifter feelings
Yessss the games are sounding more real and they should stop suppressing the sound and slam that loudness in your face like Nfs in the 2000s and 10s
Imo
The crew sounds Cars its amazing .. i like forza but the crew Will be my first choice !
Some sound great in TCM and the same for FH5.
Coming from a FH fan, TCM sounds amazing but them up shifts are overdone in my opinion, although I get it that it gives banging them gears more character
It’s the level of bass in motor fest that sells it for me 🔥
They trade blows but Forza sounds more realistic and sometimes that isn’t exciting.
Are you high, F1 in TCM sounds more clear and raw but in FH5 it sounds like a vacuum cleaner at acceleration
@turbovette679 blud woke up on the wrong side of the bed
In terms of graphics horizon is way more refined and realistic but sounds better on motorfest
TCM beats Forza by a lot in my opinion, the sounds are less clicky, have more bass and sound more like an actual engine
almost 1 year later and think TCM is more fun to play than FH5 - but FH5 has more of my favorite cars in it. Still rather play TCM currently
the crew, with the exception of a few vehicles, sounds better IMO. Their EV sounds are WAY off though, way too loud. I guess that was a choice by the devs since evs generally sound pretty soul less.
knowing that forza used actual car sounds with mics attached
I like the freedom that IVT Took on The Crew Motorfest for electric cars, as they do not sound at all ( excpet some ) they really have cool electric wine sound in Motorfest, thats stunning!
motorfest outperformed horizon 5 in terms of sounds especially V8s. I was never a fan of the crew and newer NFS before but this game makes me feel like I want to play it.
Man, TCM cars sound absolutely wild!
The boost building up in the crew is just ❤
fh5 sounds more realistic in most cases, but TCM does a great job overall. that said, the shift sounds are a bit much lol
also, v8s sound infinitely better in TCM with the exception of a few.
The crew car sounds makes me remember need for speed especially in shifting gears
Yooo the Camaro sounds mental in TCM 😍
Gotta say that Motorfest seems better than i thought; smaller map for better details, awesome car sounds and better handling than previous games. Ubisoft is known from making mediocre games so its good to see them actually trying for once.
Huge improvement for The Crew series
Holy shit Turn 10. The French are coming. Urbisoft and KT racing
It is night and day how much better TCM sounds. Even if the sounds aren't totally accurate to real life, they're COOL. They have presence. And the shifting sounds are very organic sounding
Some of FH seems a bit flat in comparison. I can’t explain it.
And yet idiots don't see what we see. Smh
TCM Supra reminds me heavily of the sound from FM6 with a hint of something else, definitely one of my favorites
JDM Cars and Ferraris sounds perfect in TCM!
Some are better on Crew, some are better on Forza, but MAN, CREW NAILED THE TURBO SOUNDS!!!
Motorfest' sounds are a lot more refined, you can really hear the bass well, unlike Forza which only simulate the mid range sounds. That's what mainly sets apart the sound quality. Forza's sounds is much more boring, dull and empty.
night and day difference, seems like fh5 dont have any bass notes
I love forza but I have to say tcm has done a very good job even though a few of them aren’t very accurate but this is also true for fh5. One thing about fh5 is that a lot of the cars lack bass, in that aspect tcm is a lot better! Also did every car in fh5 have stock exhausts?
I've said it alot and you may have seen me around but aive started saying the audio mixing dude that did the sounds for FH5 is old cause istg there isn't ANY bass in alot of the cars.
@@recon1673 exactly
Say it with me CREW MOTERFEST IS THE GAME OF THE YEAR
Both games sound good, but TCM really nailed it with this one. Horizon 5 sounds good, but the cars in there have always sounded "Robotic" to me. TCM fixes that. Hope it makes it to the actual game. Cant wait to see when its out of beta and the game releases.
motorfest has a higher sound fidelity and the actual sound of manual gear changes sounds amazing
The taycan sounds so cool in the crew 😂
There's something off with the sounds from The Crew in my opinion. Almost like there's some kind of artificial effects. I think FH5's sounds are more realistic. I think though that the sounds from The Crew achieve what they were trying to do. They fit the tone of the whole game. Both studios did a great job. But FH5's sounds could be better for what it is.
