To me on that first failed 3-1 that should be 12 personnel not 11 in my opinion. We asking Nelly to block bigger guys on short yardage situations when we have versatile TE that could do his job better as well as be a threat in the passing game. It’s like they just trying to get Nelly snaps because blocking is not his thing
Once the Chargers started pinching the inside gaps I actually would've liked to see Keaton get a look on a designed outside run - or even actually handing the ball off to Zay on motion. Outside of those two screens, we didn't threaten the boundary near the LOS much which frankly made it easier for them to defend the Run - and made us look predictable. If Hill was able to do what he did against that look, imagine Mitchell against it (assuming he's as fast as he used to be).
I think we consistently don't do enough to keep edge defenders honest outside of relying on Lamar making the right reads on the option - which he's had trouble with the last two weeks. We have enough speed to take the pressure off him; it's frustrating that we don't use it much.
Think we drop to the Eagles and then win out so 12-5 is my prediction. On the 4th and inches, I couldn't see a damn thing in the stadium. Just listened for the call afterwards.
The crazy part that no one is talking about is... LAMAR leads the league in PASSING yards. 3053.🤷🏿♂️
One thing to remember is the ravens bye is very late though. He has a game up on most players at this point.
He leads the league in PASSING TDs too
