What did you want, Europe? This was our best song and our most inspired, accomplished performance in a long time. Where did Greta fail to deliver? I'm heartbroken both as an Icelander and as a Eurovision fan. But whatever, happy that at least the qualifiers proved that Greece and Bosnia don't automatically qualify, and that even the Czech Republic can get to the final.
This tore my heart but it was clear from the beginning that this semi final would end in a massacre. Deserved over Hungary tbh

I was absolutely crushed when this didn't qualify, it was my favorite song. Such a new concept, so out-of-the-ordinary, such a nice show, lovely voice. It still gives me goosebumps. And I still listen to it.

What I don't people understand about this song is the staging is so amazing, and for most Eurovision viewers and voters the first time they hear the songs is during the Semis. I think this is going to wow the audience at home just like Loreen and Måns!

This was definitely my favorite song of all of Eurovision 2016. Greta absolutely nails the technical aspects of the song, but I think artistically it is one of the strongest songs I've seen in my four years of watching Eurovision (as an American, I didn't get introduced to it until college!). The song is simultaneously haunting and a little bit creepy (who or WHAT exactly is coming?) in its imagery, but it's clearly not a sad song or a song meant to scare you-it sends a chill up my spine, because it just gives me this image of some sort of spirit or force returning to some ancient spot to change the world forever...and we're all along for the ride, for better or for worse. It's foreboding, yet hopeful, tense, yet ultimately exciting. I loved it.

I'm from the States, and this my choice for the winner. I've been watching the contest since 2012, no doubt her vocals both times in 2012 and now, are amongst the best in the contest.

well for norway, it tried to blend two completely different melodies into one song (one for the verses and one for the chorus), and the transition was god-awful, and it ruined the song. as i saw one person put it, the song starts off sounding like Euphoria (2012 winner) and then suddenly changes to sounding like Rise like a Phoenix (2014 winner). i hated the song because of that

at the end when they announced the people to move on people in the audience were chanting iceland... I can't believe she didn't make it through. She was one of my favourites by far and she was robbed of a victory, in my opinion. Greta deserved so much more than just going to the semi finals.

Greta's song is a powerful folk-pop which combines modern popular music with national motifs. I love the violin. I love the beat. I love the leading vocal of Greta and I love the backing-vocals. I am also fond of this kind of staging. As for me I do not see any similarities to Mans, Loreen or anybody else. The style of music and the visuals reminds me Of Monsters and Men (especially the videos for "Little Talks" and "Kind and Lionheart"). I wish Greta all the best. Greetings from RUSSIA

To Greta Salóme and the whole Icelandic delegation, what just happened at the Semifinal is the biggest RIP OFF I've ever witnessed at the ESC! I am so losing hope on this contest every year, it's absurd... Your act was the best by far, your project the most interesting.
