Thank you for the video, we took delivery of the same kayak only in true grit last month. We received the update kit 1 week after registration. I’m planning on getting one myself. Cheers!🍻
If you bought an original model, they sent you this recall kit that fixes the problem. If you buy a newer unit, it just comes with glued on pads that come unglued every time you take it out if not sooner and they won't send you the recall kit for the originals. I've heard some people say theirs came off before they even got into the lake. And good luck getting a hold of anyone in customer service. It's rather disappointing.
Yes.. They are great company who cares about their customers! I did my update on my SS127 a couple months back. I’m hoping they will come out with a rudder soon!!
Love this kayak... Only things I wish were different or offered I guess, is a foam where the back of the seat sits to kind of kill some of the sound. the front hatch to have the same hinges as the 127 and a liner for inside. Only things I would suggest.... Besides the obvious pedal system lol
I wish they would send me this recall kit, but since my SS127 came with seat pads (that slide off with every use, some "fix"), they won't send me this.
Do you know when the kayaks were made that have this problem? I am buying one second hand. The current owner bought it at the beginning of march 2018. He has it registered but never received or heard anything about needing a kit. Just want to figure out if I need to ask him to get the kit before I buy it.
It was a great game Flukemaster. Don't be too hard on Kirby. If it had worked, he would have been a hero. God luck against Texas in the Sugar bowl. Okla. is 1 - 1 with them but should have been 2-0. GA will win that one.
@@ChadHooverFishing technically the rubber grommet is the first initial seal but since a single grommet seal on a self tapper weather it's buna rubber or a viton rubber is still one single seal I strongly recommend adding a dab of silicone to the thread end of the fastener (not the drill bit or cutting end) will greatly assist in waterproofing anything when using self tapping screws and if done properly with a little common sense you wont make a mess either (Not self sealing- self tapping)
joey if you have a screw that makes a hole as it goes, as long as you don’t over tighten it, strip the hole or drill the pilot hole too big, then they are also self sealing. Trust me brother,. I’ve been doing this a minute and spent twenty years in aviation, I’m as anal as it gets when it comes to rigging, but it’s not necessary to seal a screw that seals as it goes. 😜

Wow! What an outstanding company. Definitely look forward to getting one of their kayaks now. Thanks Gene.

There is one listed on their website. It says it will be available in Jan. '19. I will be getting also as soon as they are available.
I do not have the kayak you repaired but I did learn about drilling plastic and the proper drill stewing. Thanks for the lesson.
Good to know I’m buying one next week. I’ll be sure to check that the update has already been done before picking it up.
Don’t check for the update to the boat but check the seat. If it looks different than the one in this video you have the new seat and all is good.

Thanks for the info. I mainly fish from the high position rarely low but thanks for the information man!
Iam looking to buy woodsman ss127 in two weeks did they fix the problem or is it on the consumer to fix it

You and your videos are awesome!
Kudos Bonafide!!!!
Can you buy the seat update kit
Hey Gene, how did you install your track on the perch pads? Did you cut the foam out underneath or just screw right through it?
I used a sharp pocket knife and cut the foam out.
What’s the name of the part?
Love my bonafide
Those kayaks fish better in the high seat position, but they paddle a million times better in the low position.
Cool video go Dawgs
Milwaukee for the win
Cool tips
I would suggest a dab of silicone sealant on the tip of each screw right before you drive it in just to be on the safe side with so many holes
Joseph Bejnarowicz nope, don’t do that. They are self tapping screws and also self sealing. The silicone will not do anything and it will make a mess.
@@ChadHooverFishing oh, ok, gotcha. I thought they were the usual plain screws. That makes sense then.
Joseph Bejnarowicz no worries. Just wanted to make sure that I clarified.

A nice pad fixes that problem to
Is the issue that there is no pedal drive?
Is he still sponsored by biospawn
not since he left MTB.
I don’t own a kayak but I want one
Define “bona fide”...lol
Oh, that’s the BRAND...
