    Thanks for video Just ordered ordered the Godox TT 350 for use with G80, apparently it also does HSS as well which is handy to have.

    • @GrahamHoughton12
      @GrahamHoughton12  6 років тому +1

      Yes if you turn the HSS synch on by briefly pressing the synch button on the flash you can use the G80 with shutter speeds all the way to 1/4000 sec. Set the TT350 in TTL mode

    Thanks for video Graham. When I got my GX8, the on line advice was to go for the Nissin i40, however I decided to get the i60 and then got the Air 1 commander. A second flashgun in the Nissin system was going to cost a lot and I noticed good reviews on the Godox system, so I got a TT685O with the X1T transmitter. It has three times the wireless range of the Nissin, though I do still prefer the Nissin for single flash work. I also found that I can use the Air 1 commander on top of the X1T and they will both flash. In this arrangement, the X1T can do TTL but the Air 1 has to be manual as it is single pin, however they can both be controlled at the camera.

    About one year ago you did a review of the MEIKE MK-320 TTL Flash. I needed a cheap unit for occasional informal family photos using my FZ300, so I bought the unit. It cost me AU$116 (US$84).
    The flash has met my needs, but the battery life is very poor regardless of battery type, expensive or not. Strangely, batteries seem to go flat if left in the flash unit, so I now discard batteries at the end of any shoot. As an example, if I take about 10 to 20 TTL shots bouncing off an eight foot ceiling the remaining flash power drops to about half, but if the batteries are left in the unit they are completely flat next time I go to use it.
    Can you or any of your followers give my any good news on the battery life of the Godox TT350o? The Meike has only two AAs whereas the Godox has four, so I guess it should be better, but I don’t want to replace the Meike without knowing about battery life.

    @Graham Houghton:
    First, hope you're feeling better!
    Thanks for this helpful overview. As you know the Olympus FL-LM3 is specified for use with only the E-M5 *Mark II*. Does your Panasonic modification allow it to be used safely with other Olympus bodies as well? It would be nice to have a flash gun that small with tilt AND swivel. I already have an FL-600R and the Godox 350O seems only a bit smaller.

    SO As We Both know The Olympus FL-LM3 is Specified

    Does Your FL-LM3 Modification Allow it To Be Used
    On MY PANASONIC GH5?

    Hello Graham, thank you for your videos. I have however a question which remains with no answers. I use a FZ1000 camera and I got as a present a Metz Mecablitz 36 AF 5 (special for Panasonic Olympus) flash unit. When I put the Metz on the F1000 hotshoe and when I turn the flash unit on, I can't choose "mode TTL" but only "MANUAL MODE" . I trried some photos and the flash unit seems to adjust the light properly, the picture are okay. How can you explain that ?.

    Hello, Mr. Houghton. I have used Olympus flashes on the Lumix line - the FL36 and FL50 - and they work perfectly (zoom, ttl). I purchased a FL-LM3 and I'm having a hard time adapting it to the LX100 and GX85. So, if you - or a viewer - could help me: I filed the front lip (more than I needed) and removed the rear lip too so the flash now locks in place easily. When I first started, it was working ok (before I completely removed the front and rear lips). While inserting and removing the flash unit, however, the flash went off when it was not inserte (probably I shorted some pin). Is it possible I broke my unit? Also: I bought mine directly from China in 2021 and I wonder if the Chinese and the version that came with the Olympus camera are the same. Thanks!

    The off-camera flash I use now is the Sunpak 422d they will only work with the FZ300 up to 1000 of a sec. What HSS flash would you recommend? I shoot on manual so TTL is not a big requirement but HSS is. Thanks to your videos are the reason I got the FZ300 on April 28. Thank you for the great information.

    • @GrahamHoughton12
      @GrahamHoughton12  5 років тому

      The FZ300 & FZ1000 use an in the lens shutter, actually, the iris closes as the shutter so sync should be possible all the way to 1/4000 without HSS. Flash units like the Godox 350O and 685O both will fire at the fastest shutter speed. The micro four thirds cameras do have a mechanical shutter which limits the flash synch to 1/250. I'll do some confirmation tests with the Fz1000 and the Godox TT350o to confirm it.

    When I acquired a G85 I was surprised to see the gold contact missing in the hot shoe. When I was using the DMW-FL360L on my G6 I found that when mounted it made the G6 top heavy and was concerned about damage to the camera body. I purchased a mounting bar and a Vello cable and mounted it on the bar mounted to the bottom of the camera. This worked fine until I upgraded to a G7 and found the flash wouldn't fire. I bought the Neewer NW320 and that will fire. It appears that Panasonic has intentially done something to make the FL360L not work on the G7, GX85, and GX8. It does work again on the G85. Any idea why and how they prevented the remote cable from working on these models? I tried a Vello cable for Canon that has the fourth pin and that didn't work either

  • @mohdshaifuliza476
    @mohdshaifuliza476 6 років тому

    Hi Graham. Can I assume the TT350o is TTL compatible with GX7? The GX7 is not included in the compatibality list from the Godox website. Also, I am already using the Meike 320 with my Lumix LX5 (in manual only though). I tried the Meike 320 on my GX7, it reads the F stop correctly, the camera detects the flash and all; but it doesnt fire. I tried all I can to figure it out including upgrading the firmware on the GX7 but of no use. Really hoping you can assist me on this. Thanks Graham.

    • @GrahamHoughton12
      @GrahamHoughton12  6 років тому

      it works on the GX8 so I would expect it would be the same for the GX7 With the Meike I suspect the polarity of the firing circuit is not compatible with the GX7. I'll try mine on teh GX8 and get back with a response later

    • @GrahamHoughton12
      @GrahamHoughton12  6 років тому

      No sorry if I gave this impression - its purely optical ttl with these flashes. Yes the TT350o can act as master to 3 groups of slaves if they are the same type they can be ttl or if different types like sony or canon they can be used in manual mode which I will show in the next video or you can see it in the review on my blog - details in the video description
