Thank you for this. Had a little trouble with my 06 997 cab but found how to do that elsewhere. Very much appreciate this help.
Worked perfectly. There may be a bit of sticky residue on the faceplate at the top or bottom of the switch opening, check for and clean this with a bit of alcohol before reassembling so that it doesn’t transfer to the new switches.

For anyone doing this, the black plastic plungers in the switches must go back in from the switch side, not the back side. Ask me how I know 😅 Another trick is to use tweezers to expand the white tabs outward to get them out.
Thanks for this. Just picked up a Cayman S for a project and these switches looked naff with the faded paint. As I'm fitting a short shift kit and this unit had to be removed I thought I'd tackle this job at the same time. Really appreciate the clear guide.
Done the job and this guide made it extremely simple. Thanks again. What shocks me is how bad the original finish is on the switches - you can literally rub the paint off using your finger with very little effort.

Video idea, I cant find any videos with the interior heat and AC vent replacement on a 987. Might be something to consider.

Interior car designer, look I've found out we can have simple push/pull replacement switches. Accountant at Porsche, nah mate we need at least 50 screws, grommets and fastners. See to it.
