Love Britt!
For me, these 2 songs are where Spoon really started to truly sound like Spoon. Everything before it (though good) feels rough, and a bit too unintentional. With these songs they went for the jugular with lyrics, arrangement and the sound of the recording itself.
From Italy Spoon for ever!!!
Thank you for creating something so beautiful out of it!
I love Agony of Lafitte. So unlike many Spoon songs.
So much Britt sass in this one.
What about the proverbial question of how the band got it's name?
Simple. Named after the Can album. No connection to cocaine or The Tick, as Britt will confirm if you ask him...
Epic
Why did you leave Merge?
Agony of Lafitte! lol
Cool btw I’m 4th!
Haw haw haw! Of course that rascal Hunter "pirate with a television" Darby had to be the prankster responsible for that Lafitte of strength! After all, this is the same guy who got Huey Lewis to sign an autograph and then had the singer of the Butthole Surfers add "loves Gibby" underneath, and who got Tenacious D into Neil Diamond cover bands......
