Olivia has sung this song flawlessly live many times, and while this performance isn't perfect, it's still very enjoyable. I think she was nervous, which is understandable, and she might've been a little tired from playing a concert 24 hours earlier. Regardless, she's one of the most talented artists around, and I love listening to her every chance I get.
absolutely was nervous, you can see it on her face, and it's totally fair! i wouldn't do much better in those circumstances. like you said it's very enjoyable. what would be a good one to listen to live next?
It's the SNL curse. She didn't do to good with Driver's License but knocked it out of the park in Good 4 U. She did it again with Vampire and All American Bitch. If you want a good live performance watch the Tiny Desk Concert which is a lot better. You certainly could not do any better even if her performance was a bit shaky lol.
sounds like i need to go watch the tiny desk version, most of those performances are really good. definitely applaud what she did especially if she came off a performance the night before!
She definitely wasn't trusting her voice that night think she wasn't feeling 100% from her concert the night before.
good context there as well, singing for that long the night before probably really affects how you sing the next day
She also mentioned in her interview with Kelly Clarkson that singing that late at night is hard for singers and Kelly agreed (they were talking about her last snl performance)
i'm sure. she'd been up all day talking and doing other things that she'd have to do in her busy life

SNL is extremely late for vocalist and super live… it’s always nerve wrecking and she had just did a full jingle ball set the night before…. anyways interesting to choose this specific performance to react to first when she’s performed vampire live several times now….
honestly only chose it because it was on trending, general consensus in the comments is i should do the tiny desk version
@@TylerCreatesContent yes and also her live performance of all american bitch on SNL which was right after the vampire one but ICONIC also she performed some songs from GUTS at the ace theater about 2 months ago with her producer, dan, and they discuss the creative process, etc and that was an extremely good performance as well
She had some vocal strain and there were a couple of notes that she didn't quite reach, but it definitely wasn't nowhere near bad. Just because you don't do the highest notes right it doesn't take away from all the rest which sounded great. The "yikes" in thumbnail of your video is not only untrue, but completely uncalled for and speaks great volumes of your character. Trying to get more views in such a cheap way is really icky. She has done and will do other performances where she'll sing high notes, but seems like you're always gonna choose the things that are low.
