I really would love to see more content for terra Nova. In Germany we have to play Terra Nova in the Oualifier for the German Board Game Championship for Teams. So hopefully I can learn a few tricks from you:)
Thanks a lot for the video! I was starting to look deeper into Terra Nova so this was perfect timing! I am looking forward to faction-specific videos :) I am an experienced Terra Mystica player and after the first few plays one can really feel that economy is way harder to convert into VP in Terra Nova. The map is also so tight, so town space is rare and often requires bridges, unlike Terra Mystica
Whoa im surprised you decided to cover this game! And you like it more than all those other games!? I actually sold it but maybe I need to get it back?
@@shortydancer no, I don't like it over Terra Mystica or Gaia Project (but over AoI yes, I just don't like it at all). I'm just suggesting there's waaaay more depth to it than what most people give it credit for, and for a fast ish game it's outstanding
One of the complains of the TM players is that you can't burn power. But starting the game with 4 power in bowl 3, makes me think the game has kinda burned it allready for you. Gaining power can be a struggle sometimes. Do you place your houses in a specific locations in order to leech more power?
@@jorisvandeBrande yep the amount of leech you can get early-ish can give you direction when placing houses at the start. It depends on the player count though, in 4p I'm more cautious. It's possible to get boxed in and kicked out of the game. I agree that, while burning power for sure adds a strategic layer to the game, I don't think it's necessary
@@SaschaKleiber it's not better per se, but better for me. AoI it's too loose, I love my games when they're tight. AoI is the only member of the terra Mystica family where you can swim in resources, and I don't love that personally
Perfect intro for that cycle! I'm hyped!
@@5tesStuhlbein well thanks, I wasn't sure it would come out as too short. But as the game itself, it should be fast and snappy :)

@@benjaminhelm1999 alright, let's see if I can load a commented playthrough or something like that. The tricky part is doing it in the near future :)
Came here to say the same. Perfect timing for this video!
@SaschaKleiber hehe i wish we had these kind of tournaments in Italy too, it sounds like a funny experience!

@@robinpitz heh yep you got most of the important points! Keep playing it and let me know if you're still into it!
IIRC, one important difference is that leeching power doesn't cost any VPs
@@Coyotek4 It Is indeed. And buildings don't leech depending on their power level, only depending on their number

Thank you, Mario !
What about the balance? Are the factions well-balanced?
@@maximkolbasov612 heh not really. Some are really niche factions. The game loves an auction, it's a pity it's not implemented on BGA (yet?)
Better than AoI?? Seriously? Why?
