This channel is an attempt to chronicle my life and adventures since arriving in the Republic of the Philippines on November 26, 2013. This is my first time taking video and editing, so please bear with the process. Hopefully, I will get better over time!! I hope you enjoy the videos and get something out of them. I met my asawa while on Detachment to Cubi Point 1988. Since my squadron was on USS Midway, we could see each other a lot. I was Station Dito 1989-92. Got married August 11,1990. Now this August 25 years of Marriage, and 3 daughters!

filipina's are very sweet, humble, and loving women. my GF is filipina, I've just spent 3 weeks her, going back in a couple of months, she is the best thing to happen to me.
I have also met my filipina on a dating site. I'm only 26 so I don't have the finances to live there. I'm trying to get a fiancee visa. We've known each other for 8 months and I just got back from the Philippines last week. She truly is the sweetest girl I've met, always there for me. I caught pneumonia within the first few days of my vacation and without her I would've suffered so much more. I met her entire family and treated the kids and they all love me. Hearing your problems with jealousy made me laugh.... we deal with the exact same thing. Living across the world ain't easy. It's already hard that you come from different cultures and sometimes there is a misunderstanding. Like when I make a joke that she finds offensive but would be funny to an American. In the end, it's hard work, but it's very rewarding. I can't wait to go back to the Philippines again next year.
DO NOT IMPORT ANY ASIAN LADY INTO A WESTERN COUNTRY as the feminists will turn her and its byeeeeeeee!

@@LiftOffLife ... my point is that it can be fulfilling to see your woman grow once you take her out of her mentally suppressive environment. The church has I strong grip over a woman. They abuse her loyalty and trust. Perhaps keeping her down is what most guys aspire to.
Filipino women are very loving, loyal, sweet, caring, amazing, they treat their men with great respect, i am truly humbled. I in turn will do the same for her, love my Filipino sweetheart . Best thing that has ever happened to me.

I actually met Weng on the old myspace .We were friends for nearly 3 years before we met in person. We were engaged in 2012 and then married in December of 2013. We too used YM to stay in contact. We use FB, Viber and , Skype on phones for constant contact now until I return to Philippines in October. I think it's odd that everyone in USA just assumes our plans are to Live in USA but, actually we are laying foundations of our plan to remain in Philippines
Wow - MySpace!! Yeah, I have no intention of going back to live in the US either. Maybe later on if health or kids education becomes an issue.

google wind noise fixes for gopro...ive been to lazy to implement them...basicly you can use an external mic with a big fuzzy thing on it or put a big fuzzy thing on your go pro mic...if that makes any sense haha.
Bushman Canuck Yeah, they are called deadcats or sumthin like that. We shot this right in the middle of those windstorms that we recently had. Not a smart move by any means. Then again, at least it drowned out my droning for a bit.

Sounds like how me and Loritess met, only i friended her on Face book and over two years later of skyping and chatting on private chat on Face Book and exchanging photo's of each other and our family's the relationship grew till , i finally decided i wanted to travel to Philippines and meet her , spent almost 30 days with her , met her family went on Beach trips with her and her family, i found myself so comfortable with her and her family who accepted me and welcomed me right away , as they had also met me over the two year period on face book , but when i actually came all the way there to meet her any doubts they had about me were out the window. They knew then my feelings for their daughter was very sincere and were thrilled for us. So needless to say i fell in love with Iloilo city as well and have now decided to return in the Spring and stay with her in the Philippines. And we are planning our lives together. Their strong Catholics we went to Sunday Mass every Sunday , i got to meet one of her Ministers at service he spoke better English then me LOL and translated his sermon in English as well. So just had a really great time and loved Iloilo city. I love you and Michelle's video's very much and i'm very happy for you both Ned. Thank you for all the good advice and tips as well.

At least you two can communicate with Michell's English pretty good and a less age gap from so many other American/Phillipine couples I see. My wife and I are 40 years married in Perth, Western Australia.

I met my wife on a dating site as well but we both live in the UK. She is Filipino too and we were married just 8 months later. I'm heading to the Philippines in March to see her country for the first time which I know I'll love. She's originally from central Luzon but went to uni in Manila. Hoping to see Palawan while I'm there for some sun and beaches haha!

I met my Jenepher online in international cupid on 18th April 2011. She was the 2nd person I messaged and after messaging back and forth that day I went back to the first person and told them that I had found someone special and not being a player I wished them luck. From that day we skyped everyday for 1-3 hours depending on her work schedule and did so for 2 years.
I had a longterm health issue is the main reason it took so long but on May 5th 2013 I came to Santa Rosa City Laguna and set up home in Bel Air 1 laguna. We spent 1 year there and then moved to bel air 2 for like half the rent of my first place and so far we have been together now nearly 2.5 years.
For a guy that was an agoraphobic for nearly 10 years I know how much I lucked out as she is beautiful inside and out and so hard working as we work to build a real estate business this last year. Hoping in 2016 that we will finally marry for more than 1 reason lol.My one tip would be to park your western ideas at the door and learn to embrace the people and their sometimes frustrating ways because in the end you will be so much happier. I am 48 and my Jenny is 31.
I also met my wife on DIA in July 2012. We are married now and living in my home in Hawaii. I saw her picture on DIA and knew I had to meet her. You guys look like such a cute couple. Michell is beautiful like my fiancé. Our stories are very similar. She too went on a trip for 4 days after I emailed her a beautiful letter. But when she came back we hit it off. Skype is a great thing. We spend hours talking. We have a LDR me US her PH. I like your romance. Nice to watch. Get down on your knee before someone steals her away!!!!!
hi ned, been watching your videos and really enjoying them. I spent two years in the pi back in the 60's they have only two seasons there the raining season and dry season. its hot all the time. I was in the air force at clark air base on Luzon at the time.i really miss it over there and am thinking about a trip over, 68 yrs old now, so I better hurry. will keep watch u and michell keep me informed. kennybob, Tennessee,usa

Nice history of how you two met,I met my filipina wife online in oct.2011 and by june 2012 i was on a plane to Davao City Philippines..we got married here in America in sept of 2013 and it has been the best expierience of my life..

Im not kidding ,one Sunday mornng in Davao i was haveing breakfast on a 3rd story resto and looked down to see a big sweet looking tour bus rv with a banner on the side reading sunday riding club.All these guys were riding Harley Davidson dressed up bikes.I looked at my wife and said ....Nooooooo waaaaaaaaaay!ahhahhh

well,not bad at all......it is wonderful weather humid but i love the state.since ive been here 3 yrs...love it the beach.my bf he was from atlanta city but he lived here almost 32 years at florida.he told me how the florida developed the roads and highways.only few people around here since he was moved.well, probably 10 yrs. from now it is like a new big city.most of our neighbors are from canada.

I just found your videos. ...Thank You for your sharing of experience. ... I met My fiance in January 2012 went for vist in February 2013 I knew when I saw her she would be my wife. B4 meeting her parents that day...I bought engagement ring....spent 3wks together.
We flew to davo and stayed on samal island. then went back over to dumaguete for 2wks and went to amlan to spend time with family.
I will be back 2nd wk of October 2014 in dumaguete for 2wks.....then she will come to New Mexico in June 2015 to be married.

Kumusta Michell and Ned. My story is similar but not exactly the same. I am enjoying your videos and didn't realise you had do many. I will have to watch them in order so I don't get confused. I also met my girlfriend on the Date In Asia website and spent a lot of time talking and learning about the Philippines until one day I saw a profile and knew she was the one for me. We are doing the long distance dating thing until we can arrange to be together peramently but luckily do not have major trust issues. There is a large pinoy community where I live in Australia which makes all of it a lot easier with their support and friendship. I felt excited and encouraged after watching this video as I realised the sacrifices now will be well worth a future of happiness

The mundane stories are sometimes the best. I met my girl thru a friend of mine. He went to the philippines, to meet a girl, at her friend asked him, if he had any friends that would want to correspond with her, and he gave her my number. And we've known each other now for 3 years, been over and visited her once, had some setbacks, but I'm on my way to saving up again, this time, it will be to propose :-).

Ill be back in Cebu for the third time to visit a girl i met in Dia and it will probably be the last before filling for her paperwork , even though the plan is to end up back in the Pi . DIA has a reputation as a meat market. I was a total noob to it when I ran into Michell, so I am glad I didn't have to go through some of the stuff that I have heard from other expats here.
I have met a girl from the Philippines on Minecraft and spoke a lot, shared a couples of opinions then we listened to some music together and I felt a feeling I only felt when I was young and innocent. Some memory tissues reconnected and I became filled with love. After a couple of days talking to her I realized she is the girl of my life. All I want to do now is make her happy the way she want. But I need to change my ways of seeing things.
I love Filipinos because they are real people.
TheHypogriphQc although it’s possible to fall in love quickly you need to spend some time letting the relationship bake to see what direction it goes.
That’s true in any relationship. Go with the flow so you can let things settle a bit and see where the river flows....

Nice love story! When its right, its right no matter where she's from. Michell seems very sweet. I've seen her cooking videos, love it. Maybe I can pick up some cooking tips. Ned, in the US those meals she cooks are somewhat pricey depending which Filipino restaurant you go to.

IN your book, are there any suggestions on employment for an American who does not have a degree. I have been in sales (mainly appliances, furniture and electronics) my entire life. I am not looking for free advice. If there is some advice on this subject. I will buy the book. Thanks in advance. Rik
+Rik a There is nothing on that at this point, but it is something I plan on including at some point. Foreigners are not allowed to work in the Philippines without a very special work visa. Jobs here are also very low paying.

Awe how cute I met my best friend on Date In Asia and now after 1 ear I am dating her younger sister who is 19. I will be going to Jasaan in May and staying for a few weeks at her house then returning in March 2016 for her college graduation and our wedding there. I need to know what I must do in order to marry there first though. Any input would be great thanks. :)
Nice video you guys. I don't recall if you ever mentioned being married, Ned but is it safe to say you now have enough to go on to describe from your perspective the difference between having a relationship with Western women vs. a Filipina? Likewise, if Michell could share her perspective, maybe the information could help other couples in the early stages of development find ways to better understand and accept the ways of each other.
