Some amazing finds. Good on you for giving back to the museums, if only more people were so selfless. Any chance we could see your collection of cannon balls and /or other collections. Where was Mr Fox? and how did Rusty get so knowledgeable about stuff? Maria is always a pleasure to watch and your history lessons are fantastic! Stay Safe & Keep Pulling!!
Great history and wonderful finds. That big spoon would be a wonderful giveaway! 😊 maybe a few pieces.😊 It would look great on my hutch with my vintage dinner platters and glassware. 😊That smaller “ball” looks like a clay marble. A shooter! Nice find. I have 50+ clay marbles. Some with colors.
Awesome video, so enjoy watching your videos, I love learning the history that you share with us. You are amazing group. Love y'all ❤️. From afan from USA 🇺🇸
Can you imagine being hit in anger by one of those cannon balls after being shot at you? The amount of damage it would do to you is almost uninmaginable, phew!! Take care out there.
It was due to Birmingham's Matthew Boulton that Sheffield also got an assey office and the representatives of both meet in a pub called the Crown and anchor & on toss of a coin the markings were decided so Sheffield got the crown & Birmingham the anchor. The small spoon mold looks like a tea caddy spoon
. The fork mold must be an incredibly rare item. Glenn- They make a liquid chemical you can put on/into wood that stops decay and rot. We used it on the boat we had where the wood was getting a bit soft. It works great and basically hardens the wood like injecting plastic into it. Sorry I can't remember the name of it., as it's been 11+ years ago, and my fiancee passed away. The lock and hatchet/axe half would be great give aways. I think the lock is likely to be in restorable shape. I do believe the wheel hub is not from a cannon. The axels were generally larger and much more heavy duty. I think it is more likely from a light trap or carriage, possibly even a dog cart, judging by the size of the axel hole in it, but if the cart or trap used a metal axel, it would handle a lot more weight. A bit too small for the "cannon" axels I have seen too. (Cannon axel used a cannon shaped metal piece that was placed on the end of the wooden axel as a bearing surface. See Aquachiggers videos for the ones he has found here in the U.S.).
I often spend time trying to work out how and why some of your finds got into the river/canal in the first place. Now I have theory, unlikely but prove me wrong, about some of your Sheffield finds. Criminals had broken into some business premises and tried to blow the door off a safe. They were not clever criminals and used too much explosive. The explosion was so great that the safe door and other wreckage were blown through a wall along with a couple of windows and so sash weights joined the safe door in the river. An adjacent metal working workshop was also severely damaged and hence various bits of cutlery and assorted molds also went into the water.. The noise of the explosion startled a horse that was pulling a cartload a load of files and stuff from the small factory by the bridge. It reared up and this caused one of the cartwheels to collapse and the cart turned over, propelling some of its packets of files into the river.. . . A little boy playing on the bridge was so scared that he dropped his toy gun into the river.
Loved watching, it’s 8.00am Friday morning down here in NZ. I’m just watching u guys throwing those magnets in, if I was me it would go through those windows lol…
Good video as always 😊 just an idea if you give the spoon as a give away would it be worth getting it with the peaky dippers ingraved on it just an idea it would look awesome
Wonderful finds and I like your videos and watch you all wondering what. You found on your magnet. Enjoy how you have a wonderful time together. From shirley from new Bern, north carolina u.s.a ❤❤😮❤😅😊❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi ya Peaky Dippers. Great show, thank you. I think it's wonderful that you get to explore all these historic towns while doing your 'hobby', you are so knowledgable & it's always interesting to listen to you. Maybe for your giveaway, now & again, you could offer a lucky subscriber a prize to whoever can guess what the mystery item is/was used for, an item not very common that one of you have found at some point??. Just a thought. It's kind that you are offering to send people items. Anyway, have to chuckle at Marie with her spoons, haha. Which actress is always ready for some ice-cream????????....Reese, with her spoon!!!!!!!!. TAXI :0)
Poor spider... was just minding his own business ... and some clod picked up his home and started turning it this way and that.... gave the poor fella a scare you did.
I remember (I think I do) that night, drank a couple pints on the way. take the corner to fast at a blistering 3 mile an hour. the next thing I know, the wheel falls off and rolling down the road, then into the river, where you found it. so, what guy to do with a broken-down wagon full of beer? start drinking of course, don't what the beer to soil, now do we. sharing the beer with whoever was passing by. what hungover!
The big spoons are truly lovely!🤗❤️
If you were to put that old hammer into a fire and burned the old wood out, you could put in a new wooden handle and have a perfectly working hammer.
Really enjoyed your video. Lots of great finds 😊. God bless each of you 🙏 ❤️ 😊
Excellent finds loaded with History and ... the Peaky Dippers score again !
Thanks Whitney 🤗

I think it is amazing that you have gotten so good at identifying items from a pile of "crud"! So many wonderful finds!!
Thanks Jeannie 🤗
Great finds, I have trouble understanding what you say though. Between my old ears and the accent.
I would love to have the plaque from the Newcastle Sheffield safe door if you are putting that in a giveaway.
I would keep that if I were Steve.
I’d still buy true Sheffield Steel cutlery today over the cheap chinese crud.
I have two friends, who are a couple and they are your doppelganger! He us Mark and she is Kim, they remind me of you.
I'll be watching that one cheers 👍👍
Can you imagine being hit in anger by one of those cannon balls after being shot at you? The amount of damage it would do to you is almost uninmaginable, phew!! Take care out there.
Hey Frank
Yes I wouldn't like to think of the damage they would cause.
Especially when they start to get bigger
If you didn't get anybody to want the fishing stuff then I'm happy to take them off your hands 👍
Hello Peakys. I love the big spoon. Have a great day. Love to all.
Thanks Rose 🤗
That is so cool to find a cannonball in the mall that goes with it. Congratulations that’s awesome.
Thanks Stephen 🤗
Could that thing you held up @3:47 in have been the center core of a canister shot round?
LOVE THE HISTORY MATES!!!

Could that be a caddie spoon mould?
Nice haul. Loved this one as I deal antiques, and have sold a lot of Sheffield silver. So neat to see the molds.

How did you find a parking space in Sheffield I never can
We just parked down a side street lol
the wooden wheel hub is from a beer wagon about 1793.
It's a caddy spoon mould
Thanks paul
