Thank God for memories.
@@Nello353 May God bless you sir. I miss my Dad. I’m soon to be 69 and the memories of Dad taking me deer hunting are endless. I have always lived in Pennsylvania.
Mike, at the 4:00 mark.....I have to agree with you. The evolution from "hunter" to "land manager", I believe, is a common occurrence. I had a forestry friend ask me once, "Do you consider yourself a hunter, or a wildlife manager?" I thought about it, and honestly have to say that I am more of a "manager" than a hunter, and I tend to grab my camera before my rifle or bow, when a deer first appears. And I am honestly enjoying that aspect more than the hunting! With that said though, I have taken big bucks the last four years in a row, so my "management" does help with the "hunting"!
You can always do some smaller projects after everything else is done. When you take the side by side, the 4 wheeler, the 4020, a shed to park the in or under. A firewood shed. Haul your splitter down twice a year and make a bunch of firewood. I know it's all pine, but you'll have just a short stove pipe to brush out once annually. And the trees you select could be ones that widen your trails. You can make playsets for grandkids, rope swings, zip lines, and tree house. Maybe get a Starlink set up so Hunter will have music and TV. Whatever you do, just keep the cameras on. It was great to see Eva out w dad hunting. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲
Yep. Me again! 😁 I can relate to almost everything you say and do! Just last week, I FINALLY completed our cabin addition, and like you said, I am not sure what I will do when I get back to the farm. Oh wait! I have to weld a push bar onto my tree puller. Assemble a "pallet fork cage" for the tractor. Cut some trees, and widen some logging roads. Grapple some flood debris, and clear some bottom ground. Check my game cameras. Stack some firewood for the fireplace. Sharpen a bunch of chainsaw chains. Make some plans for a prescribed burn. Look for shed antlers....... ...................................................................!!!
Have a place in North Conway NH and see a couple of bears every year and I really enjoy when I do. Saw a bear run up the drive into the backyard. My dog was on the deck so I went back there to let her in the house. On my way I heard the neighbor's dog bark which sent the bear back thru my driveway. I went east between my parked vehicle and the house, about 6', and he came west thru the same gape. Neither stopped till we were about 50 feet from where we passed. We both stopped to look back. I was laughing and I think he was as well.
Its pretty cold up here in Southern Ontario too. Love your wood stove. You have a ton of Deer on your properties and I am happier to see the footage than to actually hunt them. I use to be an avid hunter but now the footage is even more rewarding. Great to see you and Eva spending time together. Here is to hoping she bags a buck before the end of the season :)

Another great video. Do you not hunt turkey? It seems like your WV place would be great for it. It seems like you have a very healthy flock so taking a gobbler or two out in the spring would not hurt it at all. If you’ve never tried turkey hunting, I highly suggest it. It is much more active than deer and can be really exciting calling to the birds, having them respond, and working them in. Spring turkey season is by far my favorite time of the year!

Watch out for the investment on packaging equipment, and all your consumables, labels, corrugated, tape and mailers, it’s a game changer if you are buying right. There are many options that can be better than Uline, Box On Demand or Box Partners, they are good start with but if you grow the options and quality are much better, watch the shipping cost and the minimums, you can tie up $$ on inventory. Good luck, love to see a business grow! Think TCO as you grow!
