Gotta own up to being one of their older fans at 73, but I've fallen as hard for their vocal blend as I did for Crosby Stills & Nash in the summer of 1969.
The opening, which is hilarious, juxtaposted with this absolutely beautiful made-me-tear-up rendition (yes, even with JB making a face at her tuning? fingering?). Just. Chef's kiss. There's this moment where Julien's singing and the other two come in, and yes I'm probably reading into it but it kind of looks like she almost leans back into the harmonies a little? I have so many feels. Thank you for sharing this so much
I’ve been to a few shows at this venue and I can honestly say that this is one of the best produced sets I’ve seen there. It’s also called The Smell and it has that name for a reason but I love that the boys support the local music scene like this
Phoebe's not capo'ed up, but Julien and Lucy are. Any real musicians here who can tell if that's common? I don't play with others enough to have seen it. When they did this song on SNL (electric), only Lucy was capo'ed up.
Doing this creates really nice harmonies for songs like this because you have the guitars in different tunings..kind of the same way vocal harmonies work.
capo is for open tunings so you can arpeggiate a few moving postions or play something that would otherwise be really uncomfortable. You can still play lead sections w/o a capo most of the time, or just play fretted notes in triplets etc.
@@martinrw00I wonder why though bc I've heard them all say they feel theyre at their best when they're all together. And they're huge as a trio rn. If they speak about preferring working together (heard it from each of them in different interviews ) I wonder why they aren't just gonna stay together and keep working as a trio

Well I am 51 and adore them. Good music is timeless.
62 years on the rock. This music is timeless.
Damned that CSN&Y reference I made as well, of course I'm a puppy at 60.
@@artisans8521 Yep, you would have been one of CS&N's youngest fans in 1969.
The harmonies are similar! Love them both ❤
This was such a fun night. From the intruding bass from next door, to the noisy toilet im so glad to have been there
Sixty seven years old, here…and I so do love this song!…by, these ladies!
Feeling melancholy. This was a beautiful performance. I would have loved to have been there. Julien's face at the end.😢
Lucy trying not to laugh at the thumping from next door 😂
This is wonderful. Thank you, and they deserved evry Grammy.
This is so perfect. Im devastated that I only discovered the boys after they announced their hiatus

i’m really gonna miss them
Thank you SO MUCH! When the gig news dropped, I daydreamed about somehow flying to LA in time for the evening. This is a generous share. 💜

Not me tearing up during school
Oh goddamnit... I literally live like 15 minutes away. Is this really the real farewell?

they're playing different tunings which maybe is uncommon in rock/pop you'll see it more in country and folk songs
Doing this creates really nice harmonies for songs like this because you have the guitars in different tunings..kind of the same way vocal harmonies work.
When you’re playing the same chords as someone else it’s more interesting to have different people playing different voicings to create textures.

Farewell show? They're breaking up??
They are going on a "hiatus " probably just to resume their solo careers... for now.
they did the same this after the ep, theyll most likely be back in a few years
