@@xj31sure but you are locked into a 3 year contract...if you plan on sticking with your carrier that's fine but I rather get an outright discount like via Samsung directly.
It's worth to note that S24 Ultra has the most advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SOC, but Samsung's software limitation is holding back audio capabilities of the new CPU. No aptX Adaptive support? Seriously? They offer older codecs, even their own SSC, but not the latest tech. Let's demand Samsung unlock our phones potential! #aptXAdaptive #SamsungCommunity Samsung I started this topic on the community page a few days ago and it is getting lots of attention through Samsung Members. Let's make Samsung do something about it, showing that we care about our audio experience on our new flagship Smartphones!! We want to spread the awareness of this problem. Lack of APTx HD / older specs of APTx Adaptive or even LHDC for Lossless Audio that phone supports via FLAC is a problem that Samsung have been skipping since S23 Ultra release ignoring audio enthusiast.
Their software is so lazy. They still ship without call recording in canada, even though it's legal federally here, so we have to change CSCs just to use the base functionality.
Its somethin ive noticed about Samsung, its like they deliberately leave out technical aspects of their phones. Another thing I want to understand is the display..does HDR engine kicks in when watching Netflix? does they native HDR10+ kick in when watching Disney+ ?
I believe the reason SAMSUNG is not giving us HD APTX is because their earphones/headphones/earbuds/ do not use the codecs. So, if the give you this codec they believe no one will buy their ear accessories to listen on their AKG engineered products.

@@MrModikoe it's an ecosystem game. They would not want their accessory to be enjoyed greatly on other devices. You get what I mean here.
Hey man, great video, but im a bit confused with one thing. The vividness slider has already been implemented with the last update a few weeks ago. Is all the other information new or does it also refer to the last update?

I love s23u zoom capability. I owned s24u though. What I love about this phone is the 7 years update, anti reflective screen, also the camera (even though I prefer s23u a bit)
They need to add the ability to completely turn off Intelligent Optimization..
Many thanks for the update! Is the software different in the UK? That last bit where you go settings>display>screen mode.....I don't have any button for 'advanced settings'?
Advanced settings will not show up if you have adaptive color tone turned on.
Great testing and information, very detailed. However you didnt mention what the firmware update version is or what model phone you have? Im from Canada my device may differ from yours.

I really love my Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra 👌🏻
I pre-ordered it & wanted to have a case for it when I got my phone,
There wasn't many options I liked in early January (2024).
So, I'm still tryin to figure out what next phone case I wanna have.
I miss my old phone case tho cuz I used epoxy to make sure my popsocket was secured to my phone case.
It's been awkward not having a PopSocket.
The case I have now has some cheap ring type that doesn't do to much.
But, I put a wrist lanyard attached to this case for now until I figure out what case I want next.
I haven't seen an OtterBox/PopSocket case for the Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra yet.

vivid update has been already rolled out to all regions in Feb. Check if u enabled ' adaptive color ' in settings, turn off it

As long as they don't completely remove shutter lag (and motion blur because of it, causing low quality and unusable pictures of moving subjects), we can't really call this "updates". Just minor tweaking that average user won't even notice. Samsungs camera software needs a LOT of changes, the same problems happen each and every year and they don't seem to care about it. Competition solved it a long time ago

@@anongeorge2504 yeah, the same problem has been present on every Samsung device, and they seem to ignore it. Unusable pictures of moving subjects are one of the main reasons I gave up on Samsung and sold my S23U. Paying 1500 bucks/euros for "flagship" and then not being able to get decent picture of moving subject just makes no sense. Competition solved it long time ago.

This was quite helpful, Eric! I think you should definitely consider making more vids like this one in regards to smaller updates and improvements like these, specially because it's been quite common for Samsung to release such improvements and even add new small features along with security patches.
Are these updates available for the S24+?
I think not : its the updated for the s24 ultra so not all the feature showed in this vidéo will be on the s24/s24+

my phone does not have the same screen mode as you show. I checked for updates and it said I have the most recent, which happens to be from March 1st. Another poster says the same thing.
Try turning off adaptive colour if enabled

Ive had the S24U from launch, and im very happy with it overall, with a few caveats.
Coming from the S21U, yes the anything past 30x isnt quite as good (which is where I'd say usuable quality stops on both), but i can still use it as a little pocket telescope to read far away signs and such. Weirdly, i find the results better with medium processing with scene optimiser off to stop the AI trying to smooth it. That goes the same for all photos actually, as i prefer the more natural resuts.
But yeah, I thought I was going to hate the 5x instead inplace of the 10x, but filling in that massive gap between 3 and 10x was a good call I'd say.
What id like samsung to do next is add a 20x periscope to really set them apart from competitors 😂

Anyone has a problem with video slow motion post recording? For some reason its a hit or miss thing, cant add slow mo in every video
It all depends where the video comes from I believe. Every video I've recorded works but videos I've been sent or screen recordings don't

Great update! Thank you so much for putting this together. I wonder if you or anyone else is experiencing battery issues after the last update. My phone seems to lose battery quicker than before the update. My average battery duration went from 1d 19h to 23h 35m which is a significant difference considering my usage hasn't changed much.
Seems like samsung also enhanced spying capabilities, so they can sell more data from you

What's the software # mine ends in AXBG...Got two updates one like in last week of Feb 20th... The 2nd on the 2nd march...
I have the march 2nd update. But my display settings are still the old version. It doesn't have the new vivid setting.

The vividness is the best thing ever, genuinely the phone felt so dull until the update. I'm so used to having a bright, vivid phone, when they reverted that at the start I was so annoyed because everything felt cold and dull and boring. When the update went through and I changed my settings, joy rushed in me! Not exaggerating, I was so excited and happy, more so than when I got the phone. Colour really does make a big difference!
How to update
I'm glad because in a darker room with lighter areas, you only see the lighter areas dark areas look black. On my S22 (regular old S22) it captures the light AND dark areas perfectly. I hope this update fixes this because I take a LOT of low light photos! I'm already bummed I have to deal with the well known S24 Ultra screen grain issue.
I didn't miss it, the 100x zoom got better when you try zooming the moon,
Found out about it while me and my wife were trying to do the zoom, mine was updated and hers wasn't.

How big can you print your photos with the S24 Ultra?
Im pretty sure its not gonna happen, but i hope us S23U owners can also get some of these improvements.
Auto mode in main cam app gives unsatisfying results in my case. Colors are off and there is way too much noise reduction going in some cases.
Expert raw gives much better results for some reason, and i got to learn basic photo editing skills.

Absolutely better trade off. 100x you are only going to use once or twice in whole phone-span. But better quality in every pic is soo much better!

Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication if I could run a UA-cam channel I would do the same unfortunately I only do the same for myself so I should start hahaha but honestly thank you so much for people like myself it's greatly appreciated I think my only real question is if we could only go to Samsung and find out their goals or the department that's working on the camera software for the camera lenses or whatever and find out what's their goal because maybe they're hitting that unless they're trying to be like another smartphone then we can at least measure it based off of their goals rather than just what we see that would help a lot or maybe they did research and said nobody cares about something so that's why they lessened there and put it somewhere else who knows but thank you so much this is exactly what people like us need just to know and be in the know

Thank you for your thorough review. I am on the fence withthe S24 ultra because of the camera issues, especially moving objects (I have an uncooperative daughter who does not cooperate with me taking pics). It has been challenging finding a thorough review of the camera.

Still to much issues with this device:
Stock camera app:
- unsupported resolutions can be selected on all cameras
- yet if you select 50MP on the cameras that support it, access to the cameras that can't is restricted, regardless that you can also select 50MP when you are there
- object tracking AF is missing when using resolutions higher than 12MP
- there is no raw photo support, the dng files created have no highlight and shadow recovery potential when compared against the jpgs
- if you disable "adaptive pixel" you can't take 50MP 5x shots in Auto Mode anymore
ExpertRAW:
- 24MP not working on the 5x camera
- probably same dng issues as ProMode

Anybody know how to find your stickers
I'm assuming you're talking about the stickers you made in the gallery app? If so, here's how you use them:
Gallery > tap a photo > tap pencil icon > tap square smiley face with pencil icon > tap "stickers" > tap the gallery icon at the bottom left.
You can also create new stickers from here.
If you want to create a sticker of a cutout to send directly, just long press the item you want to cut out from the main photo (not in the editor). When the image gets cut out, then tap share. Or you could tap the three dots then tap "save as image" so you can always come back to it later.

2 versions of the s24u. So that means exynos and sd version? Because the sd version actually have better camera hardware and software handling.

I have the S24U and the camera is still bad, pretty bad on firmware AXB7, lot of issues and still Wifi 6E doesn't work.
What i understand is on Dxomark :
Magic 6 pro is ranked 1#
Huawei p60 pro is ranked 2#
Oppo Find X7 Ultra is ranked 3#
Then comes the iPhone and the pixel, samsung is ranked #20

I honestly hate the new 5x lens compared to even the old one on my 22 ultra, it replaces the real detail i used to get with an AI guess of what it looks like. I used to love to take pictures of the moon and stars and planets, but because the lens is worse, i only get half the clarity i used to, i cant even get jupiter's moons anymore, because its only zooming in 5x not 10x. That made me feel like galeleo, and now i feel like samsung promised me the galaxy with this last model, and failed to deliver an accurate picture of it.
I dont even use my camera, haha, so are the updates only for photos and videos?

Does the s24 ultra still have 3 resolution settings?
Technically 4 if you count the 24MP option in Expert Raw mode. But the main camera just has 3. 12MP, 50MP, and 200MP.
