I just gave instant ink the boot. It is not worth it for a home user. Not when an extra sheet comes out with one letter on it and that too is counted as a printed sheet. For comercial use a different thing. I don,t know.

I never had printing issues, but yeah, if you have garbage prints that count toward your quota it's dumb. After extensive testing I'm not sure I'd recommend this for home or business (read: anyone). Their subscription model is too complicated. Get an eco tank or laser.

I printed just fine for months, until HP hijacked my printer. I had to pay for a monthly subscription to use my own printer with the exact same cartridge that i had been using for months. This guy is clearly a paid marketer for HP

BWAHAHAHA. I love when people assume I'm paid. Yeah, HP's gonna pay someone with under 1,000 subs to market their crap. Anyway, the whole point of this video was to figure out if the program was actually worth it. Had to do a lot of math because of how stupid confusing their subscription tiers are. I came to the conclusion that yes, it actually was a good deal, but months after I posted the review I found out that you're locked into the subscription if you want to keep using your printer. Also, you can never use third party cartridges (I kinda knew that already). Also Also, when I eventually sold the printer, I couldn't disconnect my account until my paid month was over which meant the guy who bought it was technically using my credits for the time being. Really dumb. Best suggestion: if you want an inkjet printer, get one of the Eco Tank printers that everyone is selling these days. If you don't need inkjet, get a laser printer. Yes, the printer and toner are more expensive, but they last a LOOOOOONG time.

@@mochitech I think you did an awesome piece of work with your reply to @MikeEggzNBerger (8 months ago). We each have internal sensors and I thihnk you are a good person. I am a convert and I'm goona subscribe to your channel. Yes it does take a LOOOOOONG time to get to 100k subs and then the algorithms will help you get to 200k and so on. Happy trails or rather streams!

I didn't have a great experience. Although I paid monthly without fail, they never sent me my cartridges like they promised. Whenever I ran out of ink, there was not a cartridge to be found despite me requesting they send an extra in the case that I do run out. Ended up having to buy ink cartridges from my local store which was crazy expensive.

NO! HP will have COMPLETE CONTROL OVER YOUR PRINTER and if you don't buy their INSTAINK they will LOCK YOUR PRINTER from printing! They charged me twice for a fee when I canceled! Was a customer for 30+ years!! They couldn't care less!!!!!

If anything becomes faulty, or you have been hacked, or if you default on your payment or if you change your card number; in otherwords, if there is a problem with your account, they will control your printer. They will not permit you to continue printing. You will have to get a hold of HP support in order to rectify the problem and that could be from half to a full day gettting it resolved. Be aware that they control your network and who knows how far they can get into your privacy. So if you don'T mind living with HP in your living room, then go ahead, make their day.

You are so wrong, you only need to sign in online on instant ink webpage with email printer was setup, if you which not to continue with the subscription, it's so simple as going to an store an get regular ink... 😂

HP printing is fairly easy and amazing printer but unfortunately i had to get a better home office printer that did not require a subscription or a number of pages to be charged. It was another bill 💵 in my eyes and i just wanted to be freed from some type of lockdown on another bill. I have a canon MF printer now and im so happy about that now. I can print with out stress on how much im gonna be over charged ; and i can buy ink offline with no issue.

For home use, it do not worth it at all and it is at the edge to be a scam. For professional maybe.
I did the subscription for the 3 month free trial. However they charge me already 1 euro during the subscription despite been free, go figure out why. I didn't receive the free cartridge yet and still using the delivered cartridge and even then it is counting the pages out of the monthly subscription. Strange !
I'm not happy they start it all wrong.

I got my printer some days ago and havent received the cartridges yet (from the 3 month free subscription) did it take you long to receive them? I also needed to “pay”a euro, but the euro still is on my bank acc somehow, could you update how it’s going for you? Is it worth it? Also forgot to mention is also counting pages already when I haven’t even used the free ink lol, very confusing

@honneybearr hey, as I explained yes it count the pages with the delivered small cartridge. Then after 2 weeks I did receive the new XXL cartridge those are huge compared to the xl version. However only available through subscription.
I will stop the subscription 2 weeks before the end of the trial.
My daughter only use less then 10 pages per month.
The original small cartridges I have time removed and taped them properly to avoid leakage and kept them in store. I will wait the end of the subscription and use them again. Because at the end HP will ask you to return the cartridges they will send you with the new cartridge a small bag to return the cartridge.
I will then buy XL cartridges.
If I feel hp will cheat in ink usage to push me toward a subscription I will throw away the printer and buy an Epson one. They seems to be more trustworthy than HP.
      We will see.

Technically the ink is a good deal, but later found out I couldn't print at all without the subscription and transferring ownership wasn't straight forward. I had to wait for my month's subscription to run out after cancelling. Would recommend an eco tank printer or laser printer. The ink subscription model would be fine if they hadn't made it so complicated.
