I love the music you chose for this video. It added a feeling of suspense :) Your obvious excitement and joy at being out in the countryside on your bike is inspirational and always brightens my day. Thank you!
I totally enjoy your videos Juliet....keeps me motivated and wanting to ride every chance I can get during our lockdown in New Westminster, Canada Still plan on riding thru my 70’s. Cheers Norm
The ride became so interesting when you left the busy-bits behind. (LTBBB). The terrain on the tramway is epic. Mud on face...priceless. Thanks for doing what you do.
"The sun is shining"... I wish I could say that... Haven't seen the sun in weeks. Just clouds in different shades of grey. Winter here really isn't great. Just warm enough that there's no snow but still really cold. Glad to see others having better weather and having fun outside 🙃
Juliet, I LOVE your videos!! Thank you so much for the adrenaline high with this one! Amazing! Inspiring! And exactly what I needed today! No matter what others are saying, keep up the talking and please say “morning” as loud and proud as you want ☺️ For me, it brings an instant smile to my face 😊 Thank you for being you! Stay healthy & safe!
Wow... Julie! Just watching this gravel crunching got the adrenalin starting to seep into and through into my veins....I reckon a lot of those trails that you rode would have resulted in me shamefully demounting and pushing the bike to safer ground...keep brightening up the deep winter days for all your followers with your sparkling, effervescent and uplifting personality....looking good too!!
Loved the video. I was also out last Sunday, around Bristol. It was so sunny, but when it clouded over it felt absolutely bitter. Really thankful that I can get out on the bike while we’re surrounded by the madness. Great for the soul, body and mind.
Nothing like getting out on the gravel bike on a sunny day to clear your head and get a fresh perspective on life! If this pandemic ever ends, you would love gravel riding in Canada!
I avoid the weekends now. Local trails around here normally very few people, now packed with walkers. After dark it is fine though for night riding. Glad I have some spiked ice tyres for the cold nights. Hoping to get out tomorrow night on the A roads. If leave until after 10pm, the people racing around in their cars shopping for pints of milk and for takeaways suddenly dries up. And at weekend the trucks vanish - as they have to get paid overtime so most employers let them rest. This weekend looks like it will be warm enough here for my usual MTB with no spikes on.
Anybody else needs to turn down the speakers for the beginning of every Juliet-Video cause the "morning" is just so enthusiastic it rings and shocks the dog :-P ... good stuff, really enjoy the content, truly uplifting and enjoyable!
Dear god would I love to ride my bike around Dartmoor. We too do have beautiful scenery in Austria but this looks so much better. Also we are in lockdown without any end in sight and I'm getting bored riding the same trails over and over again. Love your videos! Stay safe during these crazy times! Best wishes from Austria.
Looks like a great ride once you got away from folk. Struggling to find the motivation to get out at the mo and almost everywhere is swamped with people. Keep the vids coming
The Templer Way from Newton Abbot down to Shaldon is right next to the river Teign. It is tidal so check the times. If you really really wanted to you may be able to get a bike up as far as Coombe Cellars, the foreshore is mostly soft gravelly beach. Beyond it gets muddy, too muddy for a bike in many places, until you get to the bypass. The road out of Buckland towards the sewage works and then lanes down to Shaldon are good.
That descent looked super fun!!!! I only have a road bike (or two) so I have to stick to tarmac. So lovely to see Dartmoor in your vlogs though. I was born & bred there but moved away 20yrs ago. Memory lane for me watching your adventures ❤️
Being locked down in London is becoming more and more mentally challenging, but your rides are truly inspirational. Now, inspirational is a hugely overused word ( to the point where a lot of the time it has lost it proper meaning IMHO) but I genuinely will be trying harder to ride more because of your example. I am in your debt and remain extremely grateful.
Hi Julliet! I've recently discovered the Marin Nicasio plus (2021). It's more in the budget range of gravelbikes. I was reading the specs and read that the rear derailer is a Microshift advent. I've not heard of this type of derailer before. Did you come across this rear derailer by any chance on one of your Marin bikes? Always a pleasure to see you start a new cycle adventure. Take care. DD.
Speed for the thrills and the miles, Gravel for the views and the mental cleansing. Gravel, depending on your route can even be a better workout. Zwift for the ego or the humbling experience.
Looked like a great ride I would want front sus though, rough. I have almost forgotten about the virus here in NZ hope you stay safe and well and keep the great vivd coming 😀😀
Nice Video as always! Its about 2.5° C with a steady 30kph wind and gusts of 50kph. Welcome to the North east US. lol. Im using the turbo trainer today.
So happy to see your smiling face this morning! Quick question. When I watch your videos, I am blown away by the beauty of the landscape. Often, it looks like you are riding in huge open areas with cows and horses. Are these privately owned areas or public areas? In England, are people generally tolerant and polite if you are riding through their property as long as you are being kind back? I know this is a bizarre question... I'm just curious. Here in California, we have so many beautiful spots, but often times, if you accidentally ride onto private property, somebody will pull up in a huge truck and cuss you out.We have even had property owners pull guns on us (ugh the USA right??) Just curious! Hope you you and your family are well and safe!
@@cjohnson3836 50 /50 PRIVATE / PUBLIC IN THE UK Not tolerant at all Shot guns over Here. But lots of very old Routes going all the way back to Roman times which are Public infact an awful lot for a very Small Island!!

Dartmoor, where she is riding, is a National Park. We have lots of areas like this. It's hard to find yourself on private ground to be honest. We have lots of public rights of way through the countryside.
Juliet, enjoy your vids and love your energy. Personally, I love these types of rides on my gravel bike. I'm wondering which tire and the amount of pressure you are using.
Juliet love your cycling tours on and off road but can i ask what cycling gloves you wear on these cold winter days? there is so much choice out there i have yet to find a pair that actually keep my fingers tips going numb on long cycle trips. keep the vids coming love um. Stay safe
I've found gravel in the New Forest, but elsewhere in the UK bridleways and byways are usually on the road - hard pack - cyclo-cross course spectrum of mudiness.
Hi George, it’s a railway track made of granite.....it was used to move granite from the Dartmoor quarries to transport links below Dartmoor..... carts were pulled by ponies! We are very lucky to have Dartmoor on our doorstep, it’s cycling heaven :-)
..... I think I’m wrong about the ponies btw, apparently horses were used to pull the carts out of the quarry and then gravity took over all the way to Stover Canal 16km away!
Hi Juliet! What tyres do you use for your gravel bike? Struggling to get a good recommendation for the clay/mud slop we have to deal with on byways here in the UK! Stay safe 🙏

Juliet. What a lovely cheerful video. It really helps this old man stuck shielded in London’s grime.john
Thanks John! Hopefully this will be over soon and you can get out again
Wonderful ride Juliet. Thank you so much to take us along. Bizous from Belgium!!
Your enthusiasm and positivity are great , love the fact you get out there and just get it done!
Thanks 👍

Always like seeing your Gravel Rides Juliet and love the way you can descend with no Front Shocks... awesome 👏
Cheers
Thanks for taking us along - loved the video!
Cheers! Thanks for watching
That grass descent looks like prime hidden wheel sized hole territory on a gravel bike. Great job
Your videos are always so refreshing, love them always :)
Thank you
@@JulietElliottsChannel great ride J.beautiful day,thanx for inspiration,& always upbeat outlook 😎🚴♀️
I love gravel riding, but during both lockdowns I’ve resorted to road riding as they have been way quieter than the trails.
Same thing here in Oakville, Canada, and the road is wider for safe passing those also out on the road. Stay safe, and be kind to all.
You always have a sunny attitude it’s lovely x proper cheers me up watching you 👍

Parts of England are so beautiful. I'm riding in Nova Scotia, Canada and it's beautiful too but in a completely different way.

Oh my Lord...what a beautiful place!!
I was out on my bike on Sunday and I can honestly say that outside of a cycling event, I have never seen so many people on the roads cycling.
I have those boots. I get a warm up just trying to put them on. Great video!

I'm jealous of your rides. Here, there's wide, beautiful landscape. And, 99% of it is fenced off.
I live on the edge of a National Park, that’s why it’s particularly good
Hello Juliet, first video i saw of you and love your way of ride!! What a Downwill!! Looks like you are on a DW bike, great handling!! :)
