I was there once as a child! Fire in the hole! Was a great ride. Then it was. I'm 63 now. And we have not been able to go anywhere for long time. Thank goodness for School trips or my Grand kids never get go no where other than a walk in our neighborhood.
Love walking around the park with John. The girls add to that. They remind me of being there with my kids at that age. Good stuff.

When I saw the “Kid Fest” signage at the park entrance, I was expecting the park to be super busy. I cannot believe the attendance was so low on your visit

I miss this place.😥 We used to visit here at least once or twice a year since 1963. The cave was always the best part. The last time I was there a lady had dropped her wedding ring off the swinging bridge. Everyone spent all day helping them look for it.

We came to Branson this week to go to Silver Dollar City but had to turn around could not make it up side of the mountain!!! OMG I got sooo sick. Wish it wasn't up so high!

We've been watching your videos to prepare for our trip to Branson. We were so excited to see you yesterday, but we didn't say hi because I didn't want to interrupt! My daughter ran in front of your video several times though. Thank you for all the helpful content!
I remember visiting Branson and Silver Dollar City in 1960 and again in the 1970's. It was not an amusement park then. It was set up as an authentic western town. The main street was lined with log cabins and wood framed buildings. There was a one room school house with authentic school desks, black board and teachers desk. There was a woman dressed in time period clothing as a teacher who talked about teaching back then. There was a barn with a working blacksmith who was forging horse shoes and shoeing horses. He would talk about the tools used at that time period. They had a general store and church. There was a hotel, dinner, candle shop and a Bank. All the employees of Silver Dollar City were dressed in period clothing. They had an authentic stagecoach pulled by horses and would give rides around the town. There was a cave where you could tour. We ate lunch in the miners dinner. They served beans and sausage the type of food that the miners would have eaten. The town had a sheriff's office and jail. They had a covered wagon on display. The general store had a man setting out front playing a hormonica. A petting zoo with form animals. The town was a trip back in time. It was fun and educational. I am sorry to see that it has turned into just another amusement park.
