Can this be a series instead of a 2-part video? Terry is full of info. He’s a busy guy, but, once or twice a month doing a history walk would be cool for posterity. Just 5-10 minutes maybe talking about what was and now is.
It brought back some fun memories.

Also surprised there is no mention of Boxcar Willie and Roy Clark, since they had shops on 76 Hwy when it was still a two lane. Good memories of Echo Hollow when I worked there, D.A. Callaway was my favorite guy behind the scenes with all his jokes, along with the Dillards and Mr. Purvis that first year it opened. J.D. Capps was walking around on his stilts before the show and handing out pictures. I remember it still today that he used to tell little kids....."go get a dollar from your Maw". Thanks Guys!

What an AMAZING video!! Terry is a treasure and Branson is lucky to have him. I remembered some of these places from visiting as a kid. It always amazes me how Branson has grown over the last 50+ years.

Great video! It was mentioned that "big" acts coming into Clay Cooper's, not to mention the great musicians that had their own theaters. I think the huge elephant in Branson's entertainment 'room' is the LACK of those acts, at least, coming to town regularly. I've seen Ronda Vincent at SDC and Ricky Skaggs play to a full house at Clay's (Ricky even mentioned his surprise), but we need more.

Terry, I learned so much from this video.
(And I had totally forgotten about the Copper Penny and Adam's Rib!)

Where the Branson Landing is now were several small resorts and campgrounds, the High School football field was there too. One of the larger resorts was called Allendale's. The swimming pool was large so they let people come in and pay a fee to swim there. There was no city pool. There was a burger joint where all the kids hung out. It's name would change with new owners. The only names that I can remember, is Richard's and then Ridenhauer's. I doubt my spelling is correct. The street was big enough to circle there and that was part of where the kids would cruise. The cops would sit by the railroad tracks and watch us. One boy told me that the cops would stop them and talk long enough for their beer to get hot and let them go. I don't if I believe that one. It was a wonderful place to grow up. I could walk down a dark alley at night and feel safe (though I never did).

Please tell me what traffic free day & time? Anytime I’ve been to Branson it’s bumper-to-bumper.

It seems to be busier during the summertime and anytime at night. Also, we have a bunch of back roads that help a lot.

When I hear the word 'Branson ' I think of the Simpsons when Homer said 'Branson is Alot Like Las Vegas if It Were Being Run By 'Ned Flanders ' His Churchy Next Door Neighbor 😊
