This was such a great era and year for the sport of BMX riding. These were the true innovators. R.I.P. Dave Mirra You will be missed and your contributions towards the BMX will never go unnoticed or fade away.
Who is the bmx rider @ the 22:39 mark? Is that Psycho throwing it down for Hoffman Bikes? Back in 1999, Hoffman Bikes had a solid lineup of OG riders. Kevin Robinson (R.I.P) on vert, Mike Escamilla throwing it down for street, Chad Kagy, the all around technician, Day Smith rounding out flatland, and of course the Condor himself. Good times!!! The best era of BMX. Long live 90s riding.
I know right. Just before the millennium I think we felt the world was poised for some kind of futuristic greatness and, well, look what we ended up with. I know we all look back with rose tinted glasses, but I genuinely feel the pre digital/social media age was so much more exciting for bmx and action sports in general. You had to wait for VHS releases/magazines to be published or contests to come round to see what people were doing and there was so much excitement and anticipation around being a part of it. Now we can just consume it all instantly the same day.
I went to Woodward this summer of 99 and I met most of these guys. Joe rich gave me tips to learn one-handed see grab bar spins into the foam pit!!Some of the best memories of my life. I agree definitely the best era for BMX
watching this makes me feel 15 again. Also, this is stoking me before I go ride later. Thank you for posting this up to the tube for all to enjoy! Forever radical!
best time to be in the sport. i was in the navy over in Japan, and we couldn't get our monthly issue of props over there! got to ride Satoski Enda a couple of times. just a great era!!! love it!
@paul bag the clips where ian morris / gerry galley are riding white ramps, thats the waterfront hall car park. The clip of markus wilke doing a manual at the OG st annes ledges.
I SWEAR THAT IM SEARCHING A MUSIC SINCE 2005, THE VIDEOS WAS FROM FX CHANNEL, DAMN I WAS A KID AND LOVING BMX AND PUNK ROCK SONGS, I JUST WANNA FIND, I REMENBER DAVE MIRRA AND JAY MIRON AT BMX CIRCA 1995 VIDEOS SOMEONE HELP MAN, I DONT WANNA DIE BEFORE LISTEN THIS OLD GOOD ROCKS
Bmx looked so much fun back then. the bikes look better built then they are now. and there heavier which means not just anyone can hop on and learn tricks. you have to be talented and strong to lift one up. bmx today is just a bunch of fuck boys with lightweight death traps that can't ride without their bikes being light.
William McMurray bmx was so good then, it was my favourite year of riding! Just before it turned into too much of a "scene" where you had to have your bars a certain way and no-one rode a front brake etc, it took the fun away of it for me! 👎🏻
you´re right, Mr: McMurray - absolutely - I ´m glad I was able to be a part of the great era - man, the 90´s represented BMX at ist finest . However, I think one has to respect todays riders for their bravery and skills....But we had more fun and better looking bikes....RIDE FOREVER.
I dont think the bikes are death traps at all today. I wish back then I rode a trail boss instead of the heavier bike I had. Even if I broke it there was a lifetime warrenty. Like anything else technology has advanced with time.
Best Generation ever. Everyone had their own distinguished style. This brings back memories and the feeling I had when I started riding.
I'm 38 the worlds gone crazy in 2021 so I've come back to bmx for some sanity or what's left of it.
90s bmx was the best. Make me like a teenager again watching these videos. I still have my TRAIL BOSS from standard bike co. BMX for life
My generation.. these videos are embedded in my soul.
Wish bmx videos nowadays had music like props did. I discovered so many great bands such as kid dynamite/jawbreaker/juliana theory thanks to props!

These bikes are so heavy, even today's riders would struggle.
