Camp mode also works for keeping it on.

So mine comes on Wednesday and im wondering do you think it will burn the motor up by constantly being turned off and on? I am getting it for mostly when I do grocery shopping and need to keep food colder or to prevent having to run home but when I park in the garage I turn sentry mode off. I don’t drive my car daily as I have a hybrid work schedule. So it would probably be off more than it’s turned on. I’m just concerned with the nightly power on and off. What are your thoughts?

If sentry mode is off, you can turn something else on to keep the car awake. I used air conditioning from my phone app the other day. I unplug the power from the 12v when I’m not using it, and I empty it out. I’m not concerned with the power cycles burning it up. It was designed for this purpose. It cools down pretty quick, so plug it in when you go to the store, and unplug it once you brought the food inside your house. You’ll get the hang of it once you have it to see what works best for you.

@@BecauseTesla that’s a good idea, thanks for sharing. I’ll either unplug it or get a portable battery to run it off of too. Like you said I’ll play around with it this week and see how it goes. Thanks again.

Not really. The fridge is charged by the 12v battery, but that battery is charged from the main high voltage battery of the car. The fridge uses around 1-2% of the Tesla Y car battery per 24 hours.
