I normally just base coat my baits with powder paint, then bake them. Then the airbrush is just the detail work with a final dip for the clear coat and to lock the eyes in. Great job, they look great.

Yo, what's up Bro. Skimp, you really got me started making lures and plastics. I am quite an Expert now. I haven't gone to air brushing yet, but I can make anything and really You taught me how to adjust my molds to make more jigs and Spinners. Thanks for everything. Then I learned after months of building my fish room, with Microwaves, measuring cups, drawer full of skirts...I realized that I cant do all this and Fish too. I had to ask myself, what is your true love. Making lures or Fishing...No Brainer, Fishing. But I do still like to make lures in bunches of 60 or so. And being creative... BTW, the last time I opened your channel some one had broken in and stolen a bunch of stuff from your boat and garage, I think. How's all that?
Thanks for the support. Yeah someone took apart my boat and stole everything. I'm slowly getting back to having everything I need. Alot of people helped me out i was very fortunate. I haven't been making videos lately. Just alot going on right now but I def wanna get back to it here soon

Looks great brother. I powder paint round ball jig heads for Walleye fishing and cure them in the oven so they don’t chip. How well does the airbrush paint and clear coat hold up to chipping/peeling?
Well over only airbrushed spinnerbaits and chatterbaits and they seem to hold up very well ! But for flipping jigs I powder coat and then bake them

Not at all. And I dragged a bass through some lillies the other day with it !!!!

How did you prep the lead head to accept the paint?
After taking a file to it I used alcohol wipe to get all dust and debris off and painted.

Actuslly.i have a few molds ordered. I undwrstand.trying to build them to sell isn't gonna make me very much money. But I think I could produce several in a week's time. Got to keep these hands busy. But if I post s few to sell I'm not sure what is a fair price for the materisl and the time it takes to make them. I've ordered the arkie jig the brush and a poisen tail. I've got some rubbwr and silicon. Got some paints coming my way. After I make 100 of them. S9methin to show to people. I'm looking at a price that is fair to me and to the angler. I know a few pro guys so if I put the good hooks in them. I like the owner hooks. But I realize that only a few people would touch them. Could be wrong. The hook alone would help them sell I think. But I can't mass produce them. Is a custom chatter worth 10 bucks. Or is that too much to ask for them. I just have no idea!! If I could personally message you are talking to on the phone that would be sweeten. I got stage fright so I'm sure doing youtubes is out of the question for me. But who knows. But I would like to pick your brain about a few things. How can I send you a personal message

How do you open the eyelets to assemble your chatterbait?
I do 2 different methods. #1 I take a hammer and a punch and hit inside the hook eye and it opens. #2 I use a wire form and a spinnerbair hook in the mold
@@ThatGuySkimpy 1st method how often do you break the eyelet? I have found I break 2 out of 5.. But I love the 2nd method Idea.. I will give it a try.. Great video bud I’ve been airbrushing baits for 2 years now nice job you can use a heat gun out blow dyer to heat set your paint in between colors that a way it won’t smudge when doing fine details

I have a question though. How long do you have to wait on average between your coats as far as dry time goes? Also what kind of airbrush setup have you started working with, as I am currently in the market for a good basic set up.

I got the airbrush set from Do-Itmolds.com. Between each coat i used a heat gun to flash dry.
