  • Facing a narcissist in court is terrifying… Because you know they will do anything in their power to punish you, discredit you and make your life a living hell.
Then there’s the mounting legal costs, the possibility of you losing everything you’ve worked your entire life for and they may even go after the custody of your children.
This is why it is so vital that you know how to face this storm in ways that will empower you.
I believe that a narcissist can be beaten in court… In fact I’ve seen time and time again, when you understand what I share in this Thriver TV episode, that the narcissist unravels, their lies fall flat and they get exposed for who they really are:

Just get a close trustworthy female friend, our your sister (for you men) to beat the absolute shit out of her, like I did with my brothers ex, plant narcotics on her possession and lure her into believing you're on her side, once you got her cornered call the cops and tell them she's threatened your life, and subtly inform cops you feel like she's on drugs or something, because she never acts this way, and also inform them you believe she has drugs on her, by saying you saw an unfamiliar person come to your home uninvited, and she got in the car with this person and quickly got back out. Once the police hear those words she'll be searched however, you must inform the cops that she put you in great fear by having said person come to your home, and once they find the narcotics on her, it's good buy custody for her. The only way to defeat a narcissist is to play dirty, and the only way is to convince her that you're on her side and gain her trust. And that my friends is how my ex sister-in-law got 2 years in prison, but the most important thing was, she DIDN'T get custody of my nephews, my brother got sole legal and sole physical custody of the boys, and she only gets supervised visits, for one hour a week. You've got to play dirty and sneaky with a narcissist.

Melania, I did your recovery program two years ago, months before my trial date for custody with a narcissist. He was self represented and was able to question me. He was not able to "hook" me in at all. I just wanted to let you know that the narcissists visitation was suspended and he hasn't been in our lives for two years. I owe this all to your wisdom and your program. I followed much of the content in this video. It was by far the best advice I've ever been given and self work I've been needing to do for years. It is very frustrating that he accuses me of abusing my child and holding my child from me despite having a custody arrangement in place. I'm just strengthening my self-respect, self-esteem, self-worth, emotional detachment so that I don't get carried away emotionally when he starts the manipulation in court. Thank you Melanie for this video,it was very helpful. Really appreciate all the video's you do.
I've been in court with 2 narcissists and one of the things they do in excess is lie lie lie. That's the one thing I would say stands out the most. One has to be prepared, as they twist everything. As the video suggests, in stating they have such a sense of entitlement, that I believe they have convinced themselves of their own lie and will put on an award winning performance before judge and legal aids.
It's the stupidity of the judges and solicitors that never ceases to stifle me. With all their education and credentials they fail miserably in basic human perception. I do believe those who are involved in law are themselves narcissists.

So badly i wanted to defend myself vigourously. but I just sat there without interrupting her and calmly asked her what proof she had (she had none) of any of her allegations when it was my turn to speak. I let her go on and on and she dug her own hole, because she accused me of some really bizarre and physically impossible things proving to all there she was nutso! The mediation official later said when she interrupted me " Ms____,, please refrain from interrupting....this woman (me) remained quiet while you said your piece, and to tell you the truth, i don't know if even I could have remained quiet in the face of your allegations...." wow. Thing is, i was emotionally very raw and it took every ounce of emotional strenghth i had to sit there and endure her vile allegations without blowing my lid. I cried on and off for weeks afterward, so horrible it was. I agree that its important to be calm, and i really tried, but i could feel my hands and legs trembling under the table and i was so uspet, i simply could not think straight. Thank god I had practiced answers beforehand, like "I'm sorry you see it that way" "do you have any proof of any of your accusations?" "that is unsubstantiated" etc. We have another similar meeting coming up and i pray i can stay truly calm so that i can think! LISTEN to Melanie when she says DO NOT LOOK THE NARC IN THE EYES. I did and it really really made me more unsure, scared, and flustered. Whyi is it so hard to NOT look them in the eyes? In the future i will not, and instead will look at whichever offiicials are involved. Thanks for this. I'll be watching over and over till this is resolved.

Oh how I love you Melanie. I swear all your videos recently have been speaking to what I have been going through. I'm going through a custody battle now for my son who I have been the primary caregiver of and the narcissist is trying to keep me away from him because I finally broke it off. I immediately got a restraining order the next day and filed for full custody the next day. I'm just waiting for the court date. When I tell you I have been doing my homework and doing the inner work I realize everything happens for a reason and I never realized how strong and powerful I am until now! Thank you for all you do you literally are speaking to my soul and I will live with this wisdom in court and beyond so that I get Justice for my son and myself. In the mean time FOCUS on what you can do and remain positive and forgive the evil narcissist not for him but for you. everything will play out in your favor trust the process and work on healing as well. Your story sounds similar to mine....I was with a demon for 8 years because I didn't know my worth and believe in myself. I relied on his income as well. Now I'm living on my own and God is opening doors for me. All you have to do is believe, continue to be a beautiful soul and work on healing yourself. I promise miracles will happen for you. Thankyou Melanie, at this stage I’m shifting to thoughts of ‘does it really matter’ for contentment and joy is from within and not from without. Love your work and encouragement…
I pass a bit of reading I’ve been doing and feel inspirational thoughts…
‘Higher consciousness by definition calls us to be vividly aware. Consciousness is to be more conscious of the full picture like seeing reality from the top of a tall building where you see the wider picture instead of down in the basement through a little window that’s all you see. At the top you see the full picture and that’s an example of shifting consciousness’s’. (Theodore Nottingham 2015).
So let’s bring that shifting consciousness to our situations.
Remember the expression: They can dish it out but cannot take it. Now congratulate yourselves for you have taken that that the other cannot do. Then truly I say to you who is the stronger of the two.

Everyone seems to believe him and not me, it's driving me crazy, this man keeps telling lies and is getting away with it. I am so scared of him and what he is capable of, like a curse you can't seem to escape from. I don't know what to do because I whatever I try to do doesn't work or it makes things worse. When will this all end, I just want to live with my two daughters in peace.

Uzma Ahmad sweetheart I can understand. That's the narcissist plan to keep you in FEAR. That is part of their supply as Melanie would say. Please meditate and only think positive thoughts and positive outcomes and get into that feeling like it's already there. There is NOTHING to be afraid of. It's an illusion. The universe has your back you just have to realize it. As Melanie says so within so without. What you feel on the inside is what will attract. Take your power back my dear. Work on all the things you can do to protect yourself and heal yourself and I promise you will see miracles. The narcissist is bound to fail because of their own deep traumas. Misery loves company. I'm speaking from experience, I was in absolute terror two weeks ago when I broke up with a narcissist and he tried to take my son away from me and when I calmed down and started thinking logically and not letting my emotions get to me the police intervened and now we have to exchange my son every two days! Now the next step is full custody. I believe in myself and you should too. You got this love 🙌 ✌️💝

I documented the boundary crossing and abuse for months and made it clear in court that I endured the unthinkable rather than coming to court without enough evidence to ensure I would be believed.

I defeated the narc in court after I prosecuted him after an assault (one of many). Mel is spot on so do heed her advice. The narc knew way more than I did about the legal system and I still won cause I did what Mel speaks about in the video. Try to seek support from close ones who understand, those who dont understand avoid. The narc initially convinced the Police I assaulted him even tho I was injured not him! Thankfully, an independent witness came forward at the scene who confirmed what had really happened. Just stay within whilst they play these games. In the UK, for domestic abuse related cases, you can request special measures which includes a screen in court so the defendent cannot see you. Reiterate repeatedly to legal agencies including your Solicitor, esp CPS ones, you want a restraining order as the request is not usually shared with them and they have to make the request to the Judge. You can do it just remain True to you! Xx

I've got a better way, get a trustworthy friend or relative, (in my situation it was my brother that I helped) to lure the narcissist into believing you're on thier side, and you're willing to testify against the other person. Once you've gained thier trust, lure them to your place always! Try to stir up an argument, but do so In a manner that he/she won't just storm out of your house, excuse yourself to "cool dowm" call the police, and inform them that this person is in your home threatening you, and you believe they are on drugs because thier behaviour is not normal, and that the narcissist had an unknown person come to your home in an unrecognized vehicle, inform police that you saw the narcissist before the argument, get into the unknown person's vehicle and promptly get back out, and that you're afraid for your safety, once they come give them permission to enter your home and politely ask them to search the narcissist, you must do this step away from the other person as to not be heard. Once the police find what you planted in thier possession, it's all over for the narcissist, and they can kiss thier custody goodbye. Pleas note; you must plant enough narcotics on the narcissist to get an arrest and a felony conviction for possession with the intent to resale, you must also do this as close to the custody hearing as possible. Good luck.

Currently going through hell with ex/father of child. For a while there's been nothing on paper, no child maintenance it's all been cash in hand control. My daughter is 7 she went to her dad's at weekend. His girlfriend took a naked bath with my 7 year old. I bought this up tried to set a boundary and it's turned into a full blown battle I'm getting all sorts thrown at me all manner of threats. All because I tried to set a boundary of inappropriate behaviour. I feel sick can't sleep and still can't believe his twisted mind what his reality of situations is. This guy has been in and out of our lives for years when he's in discard mode. As the years go on it gets worse to deal with him and its starting to break me down. Thanks Mel. You said a big thing Dr Les Carter said "narcissistic supply" - after 11 years of vexatious litigation, stalking, cyberattacks, et cetera. I'm no longer reading, replying, or attending court to defend myself. I've been the sole custodial parent of my sons for their entire lives. But, my ex keeps taking himself to court since I won't respond and then "winning" as he "needs" to. Let's hope he'll find peace when he gets everything he wants. I pray he finds his own purpose once he realizes I am in firm in not fighting him anymore and he can feel what it's like to lose all contact with me when/if I lose custody and leave the country. Only 6 more years until the eldest is 18 - he already knows his dad lies to him, even about him (the 11 year old). Woe to the rest of the women in the world that have endured even 10% of what this man has put me thru. Why god has allowed it I'll never know. A man can rape a woman, stalker her, hack her, hack her bank accounts, make her lose employment over and over and over, abuse her, threaten to kill her, abuse her children, and then gain custody. What a truly horrific fact that God has signed off on.

Lulling you into a false sense of security is so right. Nice behavior is only a set up for their main goal which is ulterior motives of their own selfish agenda. Scary thoughts are their undisclosed information. You know there is something wrong, but often you can't come close to to seeing what it is, & yet want to fight.
But how do you fight an invisible problem of only getting half truths?
Dig, listen, & remind yourself you're never going to get the full truth. Don't believe every word that comes out of their mouth. Soon you will note the contradictions between what they say now & do latter.
Get to the bottom yourself. We want to trust our spouse, but if they're a perpetual liar, it will never happen.
So trust in what you discover & know your in charge of your beliefs. Don't let them put words into your mouth or confusing ideas in your head. The time will come when you can make your move. Until then yes, write your observations down. Go out of your way to have a secure place to store them; preferably outside your home, & probably outside the car. Any place he can gain access somehow is the wrong place. They are sneaky & have no qualms about searching through your personal items.
Lastly. PRAY! You are going to need all the help you can get.

"she's crazy or on drugs" that's my x's mantra in court
1: before court he tried to convince me he wanted to make promises and get "along"
2: said i was a drug addict, prostitute, and borderline disorder in court.... it was without evidence he won because of my reactions
3: omgsh... him and his mother. the constant threat is to lose my children; and amen on truths you are speaking
4: he lied over 20 times in court. i just stood there and cried. so now... we are going back. me much smarter and with transcripts
5: is desperately attempting to take custody and before court he tried to force me into signing away my rights

Also, its important to realize that at least 70% of people either wont understand, or simply wont be smart enough to wrap their heads around what you just went through -- and YES, police, lawyers, and JUDGES are high on that list. So be prepared to be disbelieved, assumed crazy, or heavily scrutinized. It's not like you havent been to hell and back with the narc (or many) anyway. Be strong.

I am going through this now. To make matters worse, her lawyer enables her. If you are in this situation, please find a lawyer that will believe you.
Most lawyers are incompetent, corrupt, and think they know best.
The lawyer I am facing is an unethical practitioner and should be disbarred.

Lawyers are instructed and paid by their clients. Lawyers pretend to believe their clients are honest and truthful. Lawyers in the UK will say, write and do anything for money, even if it's harming families, communities, society, the country
They are not governed properly, they're unaccountable. They are instructed by CEOs, who are the lawyers' employer. Company laws govern lawyers, jurisprudence allows them to interpret and reinterpret rules for their own benefit - financial benefit.
There are no checks and balances. Guilty until proven innocent.
      Cah.
Lawyers at h althcare regulators are notoriously dishonest about front line workers - under the instruction of the whistleblowers' former 'managwrs'
