This is Eve Libertine from Crass performing in Los Angeles with her son on guitar. I think this was 1990 or 1991. I'm not sure about the date. This gig was somewhere in Melrose Ave.
I was there! Standing on the same side of the cameraman. It was Chumbawumba's first tour of the U.S. This was one of the opening acts. The gov't wouldn't let the Chumbas bring in instruments, so they borrowed them. I remember talking with Alice Nutter in a parking lot....likely before this gig. Thanks for posting this!
hey, she was at the feeding of the five thousand weekend in 2007 (well i think it was her) its was an incrediable line up with my favs conflict, steve ignorant w/eve libertine and flux of the pink indians, i know steve ignornat did a gig in duram in late 2009 but not sure if eve was their as i didn't go
I went to the Durham gig. Eve wasn't there, the woman who sang for Steve that night covering Eve's vocals was Beki Racket. She's in 2 bands, one called Loaded 44 and the other Chaos 8. Both good bands.
@@jupyjones4823 Eve Libertine is your grandmother, that is incredible. I'll spare you and simply say that, as a fan, I have such great admiration and respect for her and her arts.
@XpunkXanarchistX Eve was at the feeding 5000 gig on Sunday night (along with the rest of crass except Penny) but only to watch the gig. The women singing Eve's parts at those 2 gigs was Sadie Long.
THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN MY SENTIMENTS A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO... THERE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SOME SHIFT IN THE AXIS OF APPRECIATION (R.E. ME AND FEMALE ARTISTS)... STILL; AT LEAST THE CRAFT WANKSTER IS LOOKING AT IT FROM AN AGIT PROP/FEMINIST APPRECIATIVE PERSPECTIVE... ALL THIS STEMS FROM MY SISTER BEING A DECENT FOOTBALLER (PRE-GREGORY'S GIRL)....
@MickeyLove01 what is it about class that gets peoples goat? like it's something to be ashamed of? people all across the board are guilty of it. These artists have perfectly illustrated dark times with dark music, whilst pointing at better futures. She's contributed to documenting history and changing minds of people. Unless Mickey Love has spawned, and presuming they don't get all their learning from wife or TV, who's mind is he changing, and what has he put into the world to change it?
He did two dates in London with a band put together for the occasion...Steve Whale from Business on bass, Spike T Smith on drums, Gizz Butt on guitar and female vocalist Suzy Six (not 100% if I got her name right),...playing the Feeding of the 5000 in its entirety along with other popular Crass anthems. The gigs were successful (i went to both london gigs) so he went on the road and did a tour of it (a different female vocalist on board this time) "The Last Supper" Many thought that he should have left things as they were as they believed it was cheapening the memory of Crass, thought it was just a cash-in, and various other reasons. Even some ex Crass members were against the idea. Drummer Penny and vocalist Eve of Crass did joined him on a few numbers at the last gig. There's a DVD of the Feeding weekend and one of the last gig. The last one is recommended especially. I've had a few pints but believe I got al, that right. There's a decent vid on here with Carol Hodge and Eva (sic) signing Shaved Women
It's a big problem for all of us female singers. I'm on my husband's page but I sing for an 80's Peace Punk band from NYC. I shortened my name to make it more androgynous and never put pictures of myself on our original releases. After about 4 years of playing tho, I was 19 years old and realized that my female sexuality should not be shunned but rather used to create a powerful woman imagery. Women are beautiful aesthetically which is why people are spellbound when a real attractive woman is in their presence. And Eve was never nothing like Olivia. LOL
@@bababooeyhatesu Yeah, it is a big thing for female singers. It's funny though, to get a comment 9 years later on something I don't even remember writing
fapfapfapfapfapfapfap. for fuck's sake, no one can think of anything else can they? she could be a hideous fucking monster for all I care! I watch these videos for the music, not for a wafty crank! that said, it's not to my taste. I'm more of a one for Bloody Revolutions or Shaved Women.
Be careful meeting your heroes in life....it can really ruin your experience that you had. I met a famous female singer in 2003 who I thought was extremely beautiful. When she stepped in front of me, her face was so wrinkled I actually gasped out loud. And she's a year younger than my wife.

If I ever met Eve i'd be speechless, Even more than meeting Morrissey. Her voice is so...i don't know.
I've always had admiration for Eve Libertine.
I wanted to go to this soooooo bad but I had no ride. Glad to see it online. So good.
love you forever Eve!
Thanks for this man, it's hard to find any eve libertine stuff, I think she's pretty reclusive.
Her voice
beautiful.
So that was about 20 years ago then, bloody hell, her son's an old geezer now, like me. lol
lovely
this is pretty good!!!

Eve libertine has a son. was he a screaming baby I wonder?
Her son's my dad...for real.

Wow! You have the coolest Grandmother! Her work had such an impact on me as a teen.
😎👌🏻💫
forever eva!.
I always felt she looked hot. I was lucky to have her phone me back in the day when we were all writing to Crass to join their commune... heh!
Surreal.
My woman crush
All feminists will joyfully crush a man to bits.
from wikipedia
Eve Libertine continued to record with her son Nemo Jones as well as performance artist A-Soma.
Same person.

I'm gonna have to turn this off, my cat is hating it! lol
I'm glad that smart people are still breeding.
sounds like a cat with it's bollocks caught in a cement mixer, but not a shabby tabby at all.
It’s all anarchy..
Seriously? Discussing her continuing decorative qualities? The comments here sound like a bunch of twits nattering on about Olivia Newton John.

I wish I wouldn't have watched this. I prefer the mysterious Crass I remember from the 80s.

Dare you to ask her to maybe throw on a little make-up
If you buy it for her, maybe she would. Do you know how expensive that stuff is? Besides if you don't like it then you don't have to keep looking.
