Dear Mr.Abramson, thank you for your lectures, thanks to them I really obtained more in-depth knowledge concerning our Jewish history, especially of Sepharad Jewry, that interests me a lot.
My name is Iosif Mamistvalov, I am a Georgian Jewish, I was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, but live in Moscow, and I am actually very interested in the history of Georgian Jewish community, its roots and historical background. If I am not mistaken, you mentioned in one of your lectures that you are going to hold a separate lecture or a part dedicated to the Georgian Jewish community. I will be very glad to be able to help you with any information you will need in order to collect and prepare the corresponding materials.
I am really gratified to you for your great educational work and lectures you kindly provide on your UA-cam channel, it is very interesting and useful for our Jewish people to get to know their roots more closely.
I am always willing and open to conversation and potential cooperation with you.
    Shabbat Shalom!
    Sincerely yours,
    Iosif Mamistvalov

Despite of being Muslim, I do like the lectures which you prepare elaborately and when I complete the whole video I become happy. I had seen the Moses's name few times in history books and his long live as a figures and I thought that who is this stupendous man and what did he do to get this value from eyes of historians. I couldnt find decent info in Turkish which is my native language but appearently It seems sorted out on its own by browsing in the UA-cam. I am glad to see this video also I will keep watching other videos as much as I can. Thank you sir.

As always, a very interesting and informative lecture, thank you. Hugh Montefiore was a prominent Anglican bishop and scholar in the latter part of the 20th century. IIRC, he converted as a teenager after having a vision of Christ. There was also considerable interest in the welfare of Jews in the Ottoman Empire among Scottish Presbyterians, many of whose best scholars knew Hebrew (a reflection of their Reformed heritage - Scottish theologians have always valued knowledge of Hebrew) and some were sent to investigate the state of Jews in the Middle East. This led to the opening of a Church of Scotland centre in Tiberias which still exists today. The distinguished OT professor and Semiticist James Barr was the warden of this centre around 1950.

@@HenryAbramsonPhD That's a good idea, I also thought of it after I posted the comment but then I figured people could simply copy paste the song from my comment.
Unfortunately I cannot post the link directly, UA-cam prevents my account from posting links (even to other youtube content) they simply shadow-ban my comment, so I'll just write the name in Hebrew so that none-Hebrew readers could simply copy paste it to youtube's search filed, then find and listen to it: יהורם גאון - השר משה מונטיפיורי

The Temple was originally in the City of David. What we call the Temple Mount came to be called as such in Byzantine times.

    • @davidsavage6324
      @davidsavage6324 6 років тому

+חיים צבי מנור I first learned about this from brilliant revisionary historian Ralph Ellis. I looked into it more and found that Nachmanides even went to Jerusalem and wrote that the Temple was still in complete ruins in the City of David. And Jesus (not that I consider him to be THE Messiah, although he brought more people to Torah than anyone else in history) said not a single stone will be left standing. Don't get me wrong, I think the outdoor synagogue at Kotel is beautiful, and we should cherish the tradition but we have so much to be in our tradition to be in awe of that we can look at things objectively and change of beliefs if we seem to be in error. Consider this an intro to the argument. You tube search REAL Temple Mount and you will find a wealth of information. Oh and Tanakh says the Temple was very close to the to the Spring, I'm blanking on the name at the moment.

I recently discovered that Sephardic Bnei Anusim descendant of converts constitute over 67 million!!! it hard to believe but apparently its true. is there enough info on them to do a lecture on any crypto Judaism that they might still practice? I've read a lot of them embrace Messianic Christianity as a stepping stone to reclaiming their Israelite heritage. Next step, embracing Unitarianism, hopefully; from there, converting to Rabbinicism wouldn't be much of a leap.

    • @jaycastillo6752

David Savage unfortunately they have already met resistance from Rabbis, particularly Ashkenazi and Sephardic** Rabbi's, probably for racial reasons and also not wanting a lot of what they would consider converts with small amounts of Jewish ancestry to Israel, at least this is what I've heard. I have some Sephardic ancestry and Turkish Jewish ancestry and I've studied the Bnei Anusim in my spare time

    I love your lecterers.😊😊
1- I was surprised when you actually mentionned
Moses Haïm MONTEFIORE as a Italian Jew! Of course he was an Italian-born then English citizen.
But he wasn't of Italian Jewish background!
He was of PORTUGUESE Jewish baclground !
There s no Italian Jews (but Romaniote Jews^^)
Livorno Community was composed of Portuguese Jews and Spanish Jews who fled from Iberian Peninsula (during Inquisition time) to Livorno, Italy and Montefiore was one of them!
A Portuguese Jewish family from Viseu, Portugal and Guarda, Portugal!
The original family was ''ALMEIDA" when arrived in Livorno the family changed it to "MONTEFIORE"
Why do you think Moses wanted a Portuguese service in London?
And why do you think there s an old theater in London called the " Almeida Theater" ?
Cause Portuguese was the traditional family language in addition to Hebrew.
2- you said Goldsmid is an Ashkenazic Jewish family! Actually no, this family is Sephardic Jewish!
They were established in Amsterdam, The Netherlands since Renaissance (they fled Inquisition from Spain&Portugal) then... as Dutch citizens they moved to London, England.
Kate MIDDLETON's mom is one of them : Carole GOLDSMITH (the family was called Goldsmid in Amsterdam and when they settled in London they changed it into Goldsmith)
(⚠️ donot confuse Goldsmid (now Goldsmith) and Goldsmidt !
Goldsmidt is an Ashkenazic Jewish family!
And Goldsmid/Goldsmith is a Sephardic Jewish family!)
