i've seen it race on the iom tt back in 1015 loved the sound so i went to a specialist who copied the open exhaust pipe on my RSV Mille DB tested it ... 132 DB @ 4k rpm

I decided to take it back to STOCK. I was a bit of a "hoarder" and stored the stock parts away. So... I stripped it down, repaint (Black and Gold) ..put the 4:10x19s on it with the original seat. The only thing I change was to a Boyers and wish I had not... but... it still turned out beautiful. Oh, I forgot to mention, I still have it and it is covered in the garage, for an occasional ride. Bugger is a hard start for a 70 yo man but I try...hmmm maybe a conversion to electric start??? I always enjoyed taking it out and the young kids would come up and ask if it was a HonKawSuz. I told them to read the case and they looked perplexed. I would take it to a Bike Night and park it near the HDs with the 2 foot wide rear tire. My buddies would come over to it as I backed it in and my question to them was always" Does that rear tyre make my ass look fat?" The pre Nortons were and still are works of mechanical art. From a time when they didn't have to cover the unfinished metal with Plasticrap. They built them with care and pride...not the conveyor belt/assembly line method. She is my old Bike..my "new" one is a 1976 HD FXE "Shovel". I remember the headaches Nortons gave the HD Sportsters in the 60s and 70s. Laugh about my "AMF" but it has been and is a good rider. As you can see, I appreciate OLD...CLASSIC... ART. Good luck and I hope Norton becomes a Motorcycle Household word in America again. So long as the kids stop thinking they are HonKawSuz's... LOL

Valkyrie #46 America claim glory for all four ford le mans victories but three of them were in British designed and built cars, using British modified American engines. we claim the rs fords are British but there hasn't been one made in the uk since the seventies/early 80s. the brabham f1 cars were British despite alfa romeo, bmw engines, or team lotus Renault, honda, lamborgini. just because the engine isn't British doesn't mean it can't be a British bike.
Actually Aprila did the same way for their 2 stroke Aprilia RS 250 (1992-2000), using Suzuki RGV 250 engine, but they made some modification and they using their frame chassis.
Ducati has audi!. BMW has Bmag!. Mv has Mercedes!. Yamaha has Toyota!. Honda has Honda!. Norton is doing fucking well but needs just a bit more help just to edge out the big boys. Mclaren??? Just think what they could do together.
