My best reads of September The Burgess Boys and Abide With Me by Elizabeth Strout I read both before Tell Me Everything was released. I found I enjoyed them more than the book I was awaiting. The English Understand Wool was an excellent short book. Then on September 12th we had to say goodbye to our cat of 4& a half years. After that I could only read romance with guaranteed happy endings.
Great video Brett. I read Sone Yard Devotional and really loved the contemplative feel of the novel and how the narrator kept reminiscing about her relationship with her mother. Strange Eventful History was good and I really appreciate reading about all the places the family ends up....can we talk about the ending...mon dieu! Caledonian Road was epic and I loved it with all the spiteful characters. I am looking forward to reading Color Television and The Most. I am currently reading Intermezzo by Sally Rooney and the author has a particular style of writing in this novel that I am obsessed with and I think you would like it as well (also she's Irish and I know your obsession with Irish writers). Thanks for being fabulous. Adios!
Sounds like you had an excellent reading month! “We Solve Murders” was so much fun. I also enjoyed “Colored Television.” I’m waiting for “Small Rain” from the public library, and wish that “Stone Yard Devotional” was available. Based on your reviews, I want to read “The Wildes,” and “The Most.” One of my fave reads this month was “Frighten the Horses: A Memoir” by Oliver Radclyffe about their gender identity journey so thanks very much for that recommendation.😀
Just finished Colored Television and enjoyed it very much.
All I can tell you is I just found you in the last 24 hours and Ive subscribed, so I very much enjoy your content and your presentation style.

Thank you for reading Caledonian Road so I don’t have to. I couldn’t take Succession-too dark-so I doubt I could take this book either.
I get it.
