Are you suggesting Jennette wasn’t acting when playing Sam? She had bottled up anger? I haven’t read the book
I find it so conflicting how much nostalgia these series give me and how much joy I had as a kid watching it, and at the same time how much anger and sadness it brings knowing what Jennette was going through :(
It’s crazy to think Jeanette’s mom was still getting her dressed and undressed and showering her at this age and even older
When I watch Sam cry in that Fudge Ball/Chili episode, it made me realize that Jennette wasn't acting at all.
@dannythomas417 it's also kinda ironic how Freddie's mom in the show was overbearing and controlling, how Jennettes mom was in real life
seeing this after reading jennette her book is heartbreaking…

I'm reading Jeanette's book, "I'm glad my mom died." And I've finally got to this part where she booked iCarly. I was surprised to read that she was already 14 years old when she got the role of Sam. 14!! I always thought she was 11 or 12.
The book is shocking and confusing..

Very happy jennette wrote her book. From her point of view and rewatching just these 11 minutes changes everything. From the feet on the screen 10 seconds in the intro of the show to how skinny Sam had to be. Everything about this show is sad and I wish it was erased from the universe but sadly that’s not possible. I just hope Jennette heals
Makes me wonder how many child stars had an eating disorder. Nothing can convince me that Miranda Cosgrove and Victoria Justice didn't have EDs.

But her ED is from her mom influencing her diet. She ignored when everyone said Jen has anorexia. Doesn't have to do with Nickelodeon.
What? Why should the show be erased? It’s not Nickelodeon’s fault she auditioned for the role, she should’ve gone done something else.

2007 was a great time. I remember watching this at 11 and I knew iCarly was going to be a hit. Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Kress who were unknown to us at that time, had great chemistry with Miranda and Jerry the moment all of them were on screen. Even though, the revival is out it’ll never beat the original. That’s why this one will forever be better.

Crazy watching this after reading her book
I know that some people are naturally skinny but to know that Jennette was that skinny due to an eating disorder caused by her mom is awful and heartbreaking
I’m just now noticing some parallels between Sam and Jeannette’s lives. Both hated their moms haha.

I remember when I first saw this episode. It was so weird seeing Miranda and Jerry at first playing Carly and Spencer since I was so used to seeing them as Megan and Crazy Steve. But the long run of this show has made me more used to them as Carly and Spencer than Megan and Crazy Steve. I’m glad Jerry got to be a main cast member on a show because him playing as Spencer shows how great of comedic potential he had for a main character.
I like how Miranda yelled Jennette “THAT’S 27,000” at the end

Wow all these years later the show is still hilarious it's amazing the level of chemistry the cast had in the 1st episode because most shows I don't feel the chemistry until the 3rd or 4th episode.
Miranda, Jennette and Nathan were so small back then. Nostalgia!
If Sam never made that picture and Carly took the blame for it, it wouldn’t have led to their creation of iCarly; the best thing that ever happened in their lives
I loved this show as a kid.... But I'm kinda terrified going into watching this. I'm right at the part in Jennette's book where they're filming this.

P.S.: I liked Samantha’s twin sister Melanie (Jennette McCurdy) better than Samantha cause Sam is always a troublemaker & her sister is Well-behaved & Pretty/Hot Looking instead !!

Feels like it was just yesterday I saw iCarly’s season premiere.
When I decided to revisit this episode years later, I remembered Sam picking on that boy differently. I thought that kid was Gibby. It’s a shame Gibby wasn’t on the show yet since there was nothing from the pilot for him to look back on during “iGoodbye”while Carly, Sam, Freddie, and Spencer did.

I remember it in the beginning of the episode when Principal Franklin was laughing.
i always thought sam and freddie got more unrecognizable every season while carly stayed the same and only thing that changed was her hair got darker and she stopped wearing clips in her hair, and they all changed clothing style after season 1
Carly was funny when she yells “that’s 27000!” It kinda reminded me when Walter freaked out when he found out that his family owed the sky diving instructor $400, 000 for the plane that was destroyed by the screwups during Drake and Josh’s skydiving lessons lol 😂

I like the original series. They show reruns on Teen Nick. It isn't shown on the main channel anymore. In the last few years, some reruns are on the other two Nickelodeon channel.
