    Bundle up, absolutely. Layering is essential to being comfortable, even for the dog on some days! But it IS possible to be comfortable outside in cold weather. The stars where I live in the mountains at 7,000 feet are incredible, and just outside my door. The wide open spaces are breathtaking. But I would have put the people at #1. The people are what we fell in love with in my town. They smile and wave at you when they drive by, even if they don't know you. They help their neighbors. Deals are made on a handshake. Their word is their bond. When we decided to move here from a large urban area on the East Coast we made a promise to do our darnedest to fit in with our town's culture, politics, and values. Those are the things that make it what it is, and we don't want to change that.

    I've lived in Wyoming since 79, worked the mines for over 40 years, and retired a few years ago. I've been through all that and then some. I don't know if you ever really get used to the winters and short spring and summers. Sometimes, it's hard to know when one ends and the other begins. I think you just learn to adapt and make the best of it. Irregardless, it's home until something better comes along. 😎

    Excellent video! One of your best. My Wyoming suggestion is...a cheap and powerful property enhance technique: plant trees! WY tree planting requires two non-negotiable things,...a extra large hole ( both depth and width + enhanced soil) and a water source for 5 years. Will not need a building permit nor taxes. Will be appreciated.

    Nice. Almost 100% correct. Yes there are the Spring and Fall seasons and they are great. They last maybe one month but they are worth it. I lived in Wyoming from 1974 till 1995. Due to work I moved and have lived now South of Jackson, MS for 16 years. I visited what I call my home state last Sept and had such a wonderful but too short of a time. I am near 70 now. Where would I rather be living? It would not be in MS where the Summers are so brutal I can do nothing outside. I sure as hell would not be wearing a MAGA hat in Jackson, MS but do carry a CCW. The cost of housing has gone sky high in Wyoming and the West in general compared to when I lived near Cheyenne. I wish I had never left Wyoming to make a long story short. I know of many who moved to Wyoming and left within a year or two. It is a tough place to live but if you are willing it is so nice over all. My kind of place and my kind of people.

    Great introduction to Wyoming. Thanks for the video. My wife and I are considering Cheyanne WY, my son joined the Space Force and will be at Buckley SFB in AURUA CO. I just cant see myself living in Colorado, having been in Texas most of my life, but Wyoming is so much like TX in laws and Cowboy flair, I feel like it would be a natural fit for us. We would be a couple hour drive away, kinda like how Corpus is to us now, and we do that drive all the time, but instead of the beach we would get to see our son, so even better. The more videos and research I do, the more excited I get for a move to your wonderful state. We currently live in a small town 30 mins south of San Antonio, and rather enjoy the quieter slower pace, and it is looking like Cheyanne would also cater to that ideal. I will be watching further videos of yours for more info and research... and Again Thank You for taking the time to introduce your awesome state!

    Where do you ride in winter? Do you have indoor arenas there or is it like here in Montana where you basically can't ride much from Nov - March?

    • @alishacollinsrealestate
      @alishacollinsrealestate  3 роки тому +2

      there are few indoor arenas here we ride in. We ride a lot on friday nights at the fairgrounds indoor arena. Its only $5 for a few hours and it is heated. I am working on turning a shop of ours that does not have a concrete floor into a riding area.

    • @AndyTheCornbread
      @AndyTheCornbread 3 роки тому

      @@alishacollinsrealestate I would kill to have an indoor fairgrounds arena, especially heated. $5 for a few hours is super cheap. I use our fairgrounds arena here but it is outdoor so it is covered in 4 - 6 feet of snow in winter and the closest indoor arena is over an hour away and is unheated.

    I've lived in New Mexico for 59 years , been around and have had horses most my time here . They are some of the dumbest critters there is they got a brain the size of a walnut and they will hurt you bad. But they are not as bad as horse people. That why there is a saying here " there are more horses asses than there are horses. Never met a horse person that wasn't. We have probably as many of , if not more working ranches in N,M,
