Lisa was so surprised and happy that I was feeling happy with her from here!!!!
The Girl with the Crayons is a Genius! 19 years old, her submission was her first ever Portrait! I wonder what her Paintings would look like in Aquarelle or Oil!
It was her first ever *self*portrait, no?
I can't agree more, in my opinion she is the best! Really impressed with her unique style and the result she manages to obtain... just wow
I love this series! And yet again, the judges made a great decision choosing the winning portrait! What a beautiful piece by Lisa!
WONDERFUL BACKGROUND MUSIC!!! Didn't impose but absolutely added a softness. Wow.
I admire how polite they are about the flaws in some portraits. And Lisa winning: Well deserved!
SPOILER ALERT
Yes I recognized Stefanie Martini from the British show Prime Suspect Tennison. She is a treasure. Beauty and Brains.
I am very greatful for your programs. I am a amatour painter and i am getting so mutch inspirations from these great artists. Thank you ❤
I didn't think Lisa deserved to be a finalist, much less the winner. I thought other paintings by finalists and those who were not selected as finalists were much stronger than hers.
Agreed. The pale pinks and aqua colours look like juvenile choices. Unimpressed.
I'm not British and I've never seen the two moderators before this show but I love them since the first episode and they're only getting better
they are all so talented here- love it
I paused and came back and saw a model and thought that’s quite good before realizing it was the actual model being very still and not a portrait. Lovely artists too. 💖
Another suggestion for those who don't like the odor of oils, water mixable oil paints! Clean up is with soap and water and you can thin the paint with water as well. Virtually no odor and they come in a wide array of colors. There is even a medium you can add to regular oil paints to make them water mixable. No reason to ever use regular oil paints again.
It’s not recommended to use water as a thinner ,just to clean with it. and adding regular oils to them will eventually nullify the water mixable qualities of the paint .
@@chubbyjaydrawsi believe they were referring to a medium from say Shimnke that I know of that you can mix with regular oils and it makes them water soluble as well. So you can paint with all kinds of oils, yes. I personally do use the water to only wash my brushes.
"regular" oil paint is just better. I tried both but I choose regular oil paint over water mixable oil
,,,great show! I absolutely can't bear to hear it, yet again, when someone says they don't oil paint because of the odour. Do yourself a favour, a life-changing favour, and just leave the flippin; turps outside where you can clean yer brush in 9 seconds. The paints do not stick up the house the pete's sakes! Ok, I feel better now...
Ty😊
Frank's seething injustice is palpable when he talks to the judges at the end. Understandable, as even though the winner's was ok, others had way more talent and likeness, like Jamie's one of Rachel and Arek's one of Rachel were just astonishing.
Racheal Hunter is a breath of fresh air,for an old girl😳😂jokes she’s awesome 😈🦦🎏☯️
She's just stunning!
It's very interesting how despite having the model in front of their eyes, the image captured by the photo has become the model itself, not as just another tool, but as an indispensable part of the painter's problem-solving process.
Using the phone image gives artist position of choice of subject. Like artist would have in one on one setting in studio
why is the word COLOR spells the American way? this is an English program.
The problem with trying to paint someone as beautiful as Stefanie Martini is that a picture cannot replicate that level of beauty!
I'm glad the hosts questioned the judges' choices. I questioned them also. A portrait that doesn't look like the subject???? I'd love to know why they don't like Jamie Green- he's obviously the crowd favourite...or is that the reason? The crowd knows nothing??
Wonderful! Let's stay in touch.
Totally disagree with the "experts" decision.
Watch this show long enough you’ll get used to that. Only ones an actual artist the others are a historian and a gallery manager 🤣
@@chubbyjaydrawsnormal things in the world of art. Those who decree the fame and success of an artist are never other artists but rather gallery owners and art critics (who are NEVER artists themselves)
I don t like the finalist worke???The pastel work much better ??????
Northcote girl eh,ka pai💖💖
I can just hear Catherine Tate's character, Nan say of the judges, "What a load of old **it".
I guess there's no accounting for taste!
The old model in her state of “dishabille”
😂
akin to 17thc, artist Sir Peter Lely.
Rachael forgot to get dressed ,two of her portraits were lovely,I didn’t think the winners painting was a good likeness as with the other paintings of the young actress.
Only Freehand can have the title ART. Using a Grid is for me not Art
Degas traced photographs. Da Vinci used a grid!
