Merci Christophe Mantaux .

@@chrishopewynne2845 This is so beautiful, and the organ and acoustics are fantastic. Power, gravitas, beauty. I enjoyed this very much. The video of the recording was first-rate. It was a treat getting to watch him play the manuals and the pedalboard at the same time. Supremely talented. I have heard both Latry and Roth play the St Anne at Notre Dame and St. Sulpice respectively, and of course, they play it well. However, this organ is not a Cavaille-Coll, so it is more suitable for this literature. I listened to Peter Hurford perform this piece, and his is the standard for it, but Maestro Mantoux interprets this piece brilliantly. He has great technique and his pedal work is so supple and accurate.

In Englisch "God Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the fuga" There are three themes. All combined in the last part, Only a Genius can compose this. And only a very good organist can play this. Best wishes from Hamburg/Germany

Ernst-Dietmar, quote: " All combined in the last part..." This is not right. The second fugue subject is never combined with the first and the third. Quote from Peder Williams books about Bach's organ compositions: "... and Bach makes no attempt to clinch the trinity association by combining all three - which would not have required unimaginable ingenuity. I agree with him, I practising the fugue right now.

@@geiryvindeskeland7208 the subject of the second fugue is combined with the subject of the first, exactly in the second part of the second fugue, after the first big cadence in Bb major (sorry, I don’t remember the bar’s number). In the third fugue the Father’s subject is combined only with the Holy Ghost’s one.

Love your playing. Of course technically perfect, and I love the way you capture the drama in the prelude when the big chords come back, holding back the big chord after the dotted rhythm captures the rhetorical nature of it. Wonderful! I love to play it like that also😁. Something I’ve struggled with - is how to make the manual only sections not sound a bit like “typing” not playing. Do you not think giving it a bit more time and the same rhetorical push/pull as for the chordal sections might make it more musical and exciting? Thought same thoughts about your “wedge”, which is dazzling, but has sections that are “mechanical” sounding.... cant help feeling theres more emotion in there to convey somehow (i play both pieces btw!!). Just interested, no criticism!
