Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 Always love to see you around with more BM songs, just wait to see BMTH finally playing Kingslayer along with BM on stage just a few days ago, it was insane. MAYA belongs to latest album The Other One but it wasn't part of the 5 singles prior to the album release, although it becomes one of fans favorite from this album real fast. The nasty riffs reminds to "Ice Nine Kills - Rainy Day". Maya in Hindu myth is the representation of illusion (which is the theme in this song), so that's the reference. Here's some official info: MAYA (ILLUSION) "Reality is an illusion. The truth may be a deception._ _It is a feeling as if you wandered in between the Real World and the Virtual World. It may be magic, or it may be an illusion." The Western Kami Band playing this live at PIA Arena MM (April 1st) gives some aggressive flavor that i really like and with MomoMetal now officially as a new member, just so you know this was performed during Black Night (that's why they're wearing the old battle dress from Metal Galaxy era and she ain't got a mic), at the end of this night she was announced as MomoMetal, the night after this (Clear Night) they're wearing the new costume you can see at Mirror Mirror, METALIZM official MV and more recently Divine Attack - Shingeki live version. They've been rotating this song along with Mirror Mirror and Believing during The Babyklok Tour in the US. Hopefully they will play this in the upcoming Europe Tour and you'll be there enjoying this. Kitsune up and see you next time 🦊🤘🎸
The "girly voices" with the harmonies are perfect for the choruses, because it feels like the sound suddenly opens up and becomes really wide. Combined with the ultra-catchy melodies, it's exactly what a chorus should be like. I think you have already reacted to Divine Attack, but the live version from this show is insanely good, too. Please check it out!
Hello There My Name Is Georgia I’m From The UK, I’m Obsessed With Babymetal I Love Them So Much & I’m Seeing Them Live For The 3rd Time At The Wolvohampton Civic Arena This Month Wednesday The 29th Of November & I Can’t Wait.
They are coming in three weeks my dude. London. Nov 27 and 28. Theres also a show in Wolverhampton Nov 29. Make it happen dude, youre the last reactor I know of that hasnt seen them this year yet. Its time. All the other guys did. I know you saw them without knowing it in 2014 at Sonisphere, but now youre one of The One. You owe it to yourself to go my dude.
Babymetal are in the UK this month! And they were here in April, so chances are good of them continuing to come back! MAYA is such a good song, I love it. I'd love to see you react to Iine (いいね), it was their second song ever and they've started playing it again for the first time in years. Also, Bring Me The Horizon and Babymetal FINALLY performed Kingslayer live together! There only appears to be fancams of it so far but it's sooo damn good ❤
Great reaction (despite a couple of really badly timed pauses🤦♂). Check for resale tickets for the BABYMETAL concerts in Camden and Wolverhampton at the end of the month. The circles everywhere in the stage designs etc - the album logo (The Other One) is OO. Are they more metal now? I have seen some people complaining they have gone softer or more pop with the latest songs ... so no, they have not gone more one way than the other, they are still mixing things up. The choreo - yes they always go hard on the choreo. Check out the latest choreo ... they have been performing 'Kingslayer' live with BMTH in Japan and the choreo in that is incredible. 'MAYA' is taken from Hindu (and some other) mythology relating to illusion.
Just got to see them last month. They were SO amazing!!! Wish it would have been in a bigger venue, so that I could have seen their REAL show. But I was pretty close, so that makes up for it lol.
@@julianagegenheimer Awesome. They are not unfortunately going to my country but luckily travelling inside Europe is pretty easy so I'll still be seeing them once again this month!
This is from the concert Momoko was finally announced as an official member as MOMO METAL :) The next night ('Clear night') was the first concert where she had a mic (The next release, 'Divine Attack' is from clear night) The circles are from TOO 'The Other One', the current album/lore Edit: BTW, they are in London on 27th/28th, and Wolverhampton 29th of this month. Sold out in London, maybe available for Wolverhampton
I have loved music my whole life-I'm almost 70. I only recently was introduced to Babymetal and I am gob smacked. The unique creativity, the power, the magnetic charisma, the f----ing energy output! I am so thrilled for the luck of running into this phenomenon. I have had soooo much fun watching your travels into the Babymetalverse. You've shared so much honest enthusiasm mixed with some great commentary. Thanks so much for adding yet another branch to my own growing tree of Babymetal awe and enjoyment.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Before going into Maya, one thing I should tell you. I witnessed the REAL "Kingslayer" played live with Bring Me The Horizon in Nagoya on Nov.1. It was a performance with full choreo by these amazing 3 female artists. 😍. Mesmerizing is the only word I could think of. OMG! Yeah! This video filmed on Day-1 (April 1) in Yokohama, the Black Night, when the performance was done right before the dawn of newly born BABYMETAL. Momometal was not official member yet and she did not have a mic back then. [FYI : I witnessed this very performed live with West (American) Kami Band at the venue. Japanese fans always appreciate the devoted support by Chris, CJ, Anthony and Clint. I can't explain how amazing it was with my English vocabulary. (They played in Nagoya as well)] Regarding "Maya", Su said in an interview "The lyrics in English 'How would you know ... is all an illusion' is not the kind of expression that BABYMETAL have not had in the past." She added " When it comes to sound, I like a part where my voice seem to fade into fog but it does exist there" [source: magazine PMC vol. 27 page 40] Our queen has grown up into a lady with a philosophical viewpoint, I guess.
I’ve made it through this Fox Hole! Your reactions are the best! Baby Metal is the best band I’ve ever heard there voices are just amazing in your ears 🔥😩 The best music I’ve ever heard every time I listen to there songs I get emotional every time😭❤️
Thanks for this reaction. Babymetal concept is the same, but part of the concept is: make something new every time and make things that fit the ladies or girls, their age, their mental state, etc. Even when the songs aren't written by the girls/ladies the songs are written 'in their voice' as if they would write about that topic, etc.
Thank you so much for doing more Babymetal, it's what first led me to your channel :) Could you do the live version (not from the Babymetal channel) of Shanti Shanti Shanti? The choreo is AMAZING, and the song might be my favourite!
They will be in London at the end of the month. There are a few resale tickets available, so get yours dude! 🤘🦊🔥 The two circles represent the Other One and also sometimes the infinity symbol and yes there is lore behind (as usual lol)
I saw them in Sydney in June. It was a fabulous show, although nothing like the production scale of these Japanese concerts. You asked for other JRock suggestions - about time you got back to Lovebites, mate! 😉 They have 4 epic live tracks on their channel from the new DVD/BluRay Knockin' at Heaven's Gate. Start with Liar, it seems to be one of the most popular. And featuring their highly talented new bassist, Fami. Go for it! Cheers.
Much is said about the evolution that BABYMETAL has had in its 10 years of experience, especially from the point of view of Su's voice, but little is said about Kami band. I think since they decided to include the 9-string guitar they took a huge step. There is simply nothing like this in the industry right now.
I can agree that in the latest album, The Other One, there is more metal, but also a lot more EDM going on! In their latest song after that album though, Metali, I believe the Pop came back, the Kawaii came back! It sound more like an old classic BM song!
Their new album might be their best, it's got so many amazing tracks. This tour was amazing, they're always good but the production was next level even for them. I love Kami Band, but having Galatic Empire as The Fox Gods just standing in the back in those costumes is right for them now. It lets the girls and and their fully choreographed set be the focus, and feels more mature than the Kami Band rocking out, hard to explain. It's the next evolution of the band and it works. This song blew me away live and it was my first time hearing it, been stuck in my head for days.
Another good reaction from you Luke, I like it. I absolutely agree with your convoluted explanation of their progression, the kawaii elements are only a sliver now whereas there was a greater emphasis on it when they began. Obviously playing off their tender age was an ice breaker I guess but as they matured, they cleverly matured their sound as well. I also feel that The Other One was a much more mature album overall and didn’t have the fun of their previous three albums but a lot more grit, which showcased a different side of BM. Of course they counter that with Metali, which was all fun and that’s the joy of this band, always keeping you on your toes. I suspect the double “O’s” refers to the Other One. I noticed the staffs they held in Metal Kingdom had them as well but I may be incorrect. Either way, it looks like a spectacular concert and I cannot wait for the Blue Rays to arrive. Kitsune Up!
If you think about it. Who was the last Japanese artist to have a hit out of Japan? Hikaru Utada maybe. But BabyMetal has been making music for 10 years and was to end a long time ago because of their age but the popularity made the school kept them on stage. And if BabyMetal was to disband I see Su and Moa making a comeback faster than the record label cooling off the press. So to keep the money rolling in they will work for those little girls forever. I would say they maybe the force the rock music needs. A lot of older bands are calling it quits like KISS. And if they don’t people are like who are those guys? But K pop and J pop is coming out of Asia but babymetal is like a J pop group meets metal band. We know they are a group put together by a school and a record label but they made gold. Just think about all the groups put together have any lasted for 10 years? I hope they have a lot more years to go. But Japanese tradition may stop them. Like when they have a family tradition is the women become the homemaker and mother and puts her professional career on the shelf. But some do break traditions too.
If you like Babymetal, might I recommend Band-Maid? They’re closer to 2000s punk rock/nu metal than heavier metal like Babymetal, but they’re still fun to listen to. I’d recommend starting with either Warning! or Shambles.
*Day 172* of recommending the *Beyblade openings* . There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!
