- TSRE5 is a route editor tool used for editing routes for Microsoft Train Simulator for use with MSTS and Open Rails. This video is to serve as a quick demonstration of basic features within TSRE.

Hello, first download this file and install it where you wish: koniec.org/tsre5/data/old/TSRE5_v0.69.zip
Second, download this file and copy it to the folder you just installed from previous step: koniec.org/tsre5/data/TSRE5_v0.6955.exe
Please note that v0.6955 is the most current version as of this writing. Please visit: koniec.org/tsre5/data/ and click 'Last modified' at the top of the page to sort most recent version (usually at the bottom once sorted)
Third, download this file and install it to the same folder created in first step: koniec.org/tsre5/data/openal/Win64/OpenAL32.dll
That's it! Remember to create a shortcut to your desktop to the most recent version installed in your folder. In this case run 'TSRE5_v0.6955.exe' and this will run newest version, or rename 'TSRE5_v0.6955.exe' to 'TSRE5.exe'. Hope this helps.
I have found memories of using the original version of this for MSTS 2001. I want to download it and the RE again so I can export the full length of the routes. Think you could do a video showing the full length of track on this Tutorial route from beginning to end?

Hi, I really need to convert a route to a 3d objects, or something a program like blender can open. It doesn't have to be the whole route, it can be in segments (an even without the terrain). Does somebody know if this can be done? Any ideas would be very much appreciated
Download ShapeConvertor and it should open 3DS file after conversion in ShapeConvertor (google it)

@@AkiGames093 it will covert shape to 3ds. You can also use ninjaripper to rip from games and import direct into blender.
@@RailroadedFilms I tried ninja ripper and it doesn't rip, and shape converter seems to be for individual objects like a barn or a bridge. I was looking for something more like TSRE5 that shows you the route with all the objects and convert it to one 3d object, be able to view the tracks in blender. I can use shape converter to import the trains to blender but not the tracks and stations. Any idea if it is possible to export the route itself with at least the tracks and stations attached to it? Thank you in advance

As far as I know not directly. You'd still have to add the objects from other routes manually to the .ref file just like the MSTSRE. Not a bad idea though.

Copy the terrtex folder from another route in your ROUTE directory within train simulator.
When I open a route using this route editor it lags very much how to prevent lagging.....

Saw this video and your one on TSRE5 Consist Editor....is or will there be one for an Activity Editor in TRES5, or do we still have to use the old MSTS AE to crank them out???
You still have to use MSTSRE for now. Ive asked about including a activity editor in TSRE but there seemed to be little interest at the moment from the developer.

Some basic activity editing can now be done with TSRE.
How do you place locomotives?
What's the system configuration you use? The new editor works horrible on my Asus F3S laptop, it's totally not optimized if you ask me, the original editor works better. But the thing is, I would like to use some functions of the new one, but it overloads my processor to the point it's basically useless.
Edit settings.txt file and set:
tileLod = 1
objectLod = 2000
(you can try even lower value, for example 1500)

maxObjLag = 2
