    Hi Dan, I watched a you tube video that used 5 paper plates and a magnet. They would put their black sands in the first plate and pick up the black sands with the magnet and move it to the second plate and drop it in keep going till most of the black sands are in plate # 5. Gold should be in plates #1 through 4. Then you could take the gold out of 1-4 and do it again to the black sands. But it looks like your way with the water works good too. Thanks for another GREAT video!!!

    If you set up a tiny little machine operation on your Boston Bar claim at low water season where you just skim the top 12 inches of the gravel bar with a sluice optimized for fine gold recovery, with your tailings going thru your iCon, you'd probably produce a grade well north of a 1/2 gram per yard.

    Hi Dan, I’ve been enjoying watching your efforts to find that ever elusive mother lode you’ve been searching for. Your channel keeps me entertained with the Hurd sense of humour and the beautiful BC scenery.
    My dad had a placer claim up on McDame Crk, in northern BC, in the late 60’s. He built a rough cabin and worked it all by himself, all by hand. Back then he had the option of diverting the creek and working the exposed creek bed where I’m sure he would have faired better but money was short so no machine work was ever completed.
    McDame Crk has been mined off and on over the past few centuries especially by the Chinese. It’s amazing to see how at the turn of the last century they managed to move massive boulders all by brute manpower.
    Not that my dad didn’t see his share of gold. He toiled away at his claim through the summer and went to work on the concentrates in the winter since the season that far north is so short. One story I know will make cringe Dan is when my brother came up from Saskatoon for a visit. Dad kept his concentrates in 5 gal plastic buckets and while he was off working in the creek one day my brother decided one those buckets would make a far better seat than the log stumps we had been using. Not knowing why dad had all the fine river gravel in the bucket he dumped one back into the creek then upended the bucket for a fine seat. Later dad hit the roof when he got back to the cabin and found out what his son had done. It was probably a weeks worth of work my brother sent back down the creek. Dad did find several ounces over the years he spent at his claim but back then the price of gold still hovered around $35 an ounce so he never got rich. Just the same he loved being out there, like you, always looking for that shifty gold seam.

    I just love your videos. Only comment is that the "Goldrop Paydirt Separator" cost is way to high ($2,000) for what it does. As a lot of folks know, a Gold Cube, Gold Hog, Dream Mat, or Infinity Mat, does just as good of a job or better and at a lot less cost and at a faster rate. I do give a lot of credit though to the folks that put out different ideas/products for catching gold.

  • @KIDPRODIGY69
    @KIDPRODIGY69 3 роки тому

    You should make the gold paydirt bags, in stages of how easy or hard it is to pan. So many have different ammounts you can buy, or sizes but having it train you with something harder to pan, you can make a step up system to get better at panning.

    Possibly longer sluice runs. There could be a lot of flour gold that you could be missing out on.

    Wouldn't there be a pretty good chance that the oxidised galena would also have a decent % of gold and other stuff?

    That’s a tough one Dan. Instead of worrying about a grand aggregate average, I suspect it may be in your interest to not even run the overburden at that level and instead just cast it. It would be helpful to do clean outs every 2-3 feet down at this point just to help target that economic threshold.

    What's important here is probability sampling. There's going to be a lot of deviation between 100 yard zones. One might net 10g and another one might net 40g. What's important is that they average out to your target of about an ounce over repeated experiments. If the estimation is correct and the average should be an ounce per 100 yards, the average of your realized returns per 100 yards will also move closer and closer to that amount as you mine a higher % of the total yards.

    Question worth asking is how much overburden you can remove before the pit becomes payable. Might be able to discard a whole 1-4 feet? Can't wait for the next showing!
