    Thank you for a really informative video. I rebuilt my '93 Dodge Caravan 3 speed automatic about 4 years ago. A much simpler transmission. My son's RX300 transmission just broke at 250,000 miles. I really wish we had changed the trans filter 6 months ago. Since his RX300 needs to move in Reverse to drive to the smog check station I have considered dropping the trans pan (again) and trying to remove crud from the solenoid ports, etc. Then again, no. Deferred maintenance is not fixed by a filter change and some squirts of brake cleaner. The Toyota transmission is elegant, beautiful and very intricate. You did a beautiful job and I hope it gives your wife a zing of happiness when she drives the car.

When I put it in drive and accelerate slowly, I feel the first shifting ok,but two, three second later, it shifts hard,like a pulling forward kick. What caused that,a shifting solenoid? I tune up already,but still same. There are a few solenoids, I couldn’t identify which one the shifting solenoid is . Do you know which one it is ? Thanks

    So I was thinking that why don't these after maker suppliers make the exact same size as the Toyota standards original plates.
    Maybe because after sometime we again have to rebuild and buy again to remake the transmission.
    Like you gave an example of hair being so to a point where it'll get stuck again.
    Or we can perhaps get these parts from a junkyard and take out oroginal plates

    One question G, the part that failed, was the replacement part identical or had it been improved or could you tell? • @ghostses
      @ghostses  7 років тому +2

      Sorry Rich. 8ft lbs equals 96 inch lbs. I may have misspoke somewhere in the video- not sure. But, there are 12 inch pounds in a foot pound. 1ft lb = 12 inch lb. So, 8ft lbs would be 8X12, or 96 inch lbs. You can also turn inch lbs into ft lbs by dividing by 12. So 150 inch lbs would be 150/12, or 12.5 ft lbs. Hope that clears it up a bit. Good luck, G. G.
