Marlene was a patriot in the truest sense of the word and was a big part of our troops morale at the start of WW2. Thank you Marlene for your services to our country, you will never be forgotten 🌷.
She was with the troops when they took over Berlin that's where her mother was. She had a bounty on her from Hitler. She was very brave and proud to be a American citizen 👏
👍💝🙏I love her. May she rest in peace. Her daughter, Maria Riva, is still alive and will be 100 years old on 12/13/2024. Although hr daughter was an only child, she had 5 boys and now she has several grandchildren.
I have German ancestry and I am so very glad she is represented here as a good German out of many. Not all Germans were Nazi Hitler worshippers. Many were executed and many fled Germany and many Americans of German ancestry fought, suffered, bled, wounded permamently, killed in action against the Nazis. This is not told enough and should be. One of my most favorite movies is Schindler's List. I wept from the depths of my soul when Oscar Schindler was saying...1 more person... I could have sold this gold Nazi pin. This car..2 people...I didn't do enough. My Dad was in the US Army during WWII. He did not get sent overseas. A friend in junior high befriended me. One day he invited me to his home where I met his parents who were around my parents age. They rolled up their sleeves showing me the tattoos forced on them by the Nazis. I am so glad to have been priviledged to meet them and see proof. Some say the Holocaust never happened. How deluded they are.
My sweet mother was a Navy Wave during WWII. She worked for decades in Baltimore as a lab technician and many Jewish patients rolled up their sleeve to get blood drawn, revealing the six-digit tattoo on their forearm. Her heart ached for them.
@Margaret-z9h God bless you so very much, dear. Numbers 6:22-27 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying: 'Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying: On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel; ye shall say unto them: The LORD bless thee, and keep thee; The LORD make His face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; The LORD lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. So shall they put My Name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them. '
The Hollywood actresses of this era were the best: most talented, most beautiful and most patriotic. Marlene was outstanding. Carole Landis was also in the frontlines entertaining troops. Rochelle Hudson helped her husband in espionage work. Ann Dvorak went to England with her Brit husband and drove an ambulance. Remarkable women, through and through.
She was super sweet to someone I knew who met her as a teenager coming out of a stage door. He was a budding photographer and asked her if he could take her picture. She said come back tomorrow when she was freshened up. She kept her word. I’ve seen that photo. Real story .
My Dad was one of the first troops in France ! I am Proud of Our Troops but then I have found the American Government gave money to both sides and brought German top Brass to America
I never found her that great looking, attractive, at best, but I have a lot of respect for this woman. She became an American citizen, denounced Hitler, and helped the American troops and America. God bless Marlene Dietrich.❤✝️🇺🇲🙏
My dad danced with her during WW2. He said it was one of the best nights of his life. We would always watch her movies on TV.
Me Too! Especially Touch of Evil!
you saw the movies, dad saw them dancing
Lucky man he was
thats awesome

Ms. Dietrich became an object of disdain, in Germany, because of her renunciation of her German citizenship!
"Out of decency".
But America loved her ❤
That may have been the official position; however, the Germans I know revered her.
Cool Marlene Dietrich
Standing up to honor and defend the better facets of Humanity and her German people.
Decency, You don't here that much.
Sorely lacking today, unfortunately.
Greatest generation had guts and honor. 🫡💪✊️
WOW! 👏👏 I didn't know any of this about her. ✝️🙏

What a georges babe, who also had a generous heart.
She was one of the greatest saw players. Sawist
A German every US Soldier lived! Not all Germans were nazis! RIP Marlene!!!
Hitler got rid of prominent Germans that would defy him pretty quickly.
💪👍👍
I wonder how many people knew of all be courageous and selfless things she did. Our nation was very lucky to have brave people off that.
Like they say here in the South not all Southerns are bigots not a Germans were nazis
A very decent woman full of integrity.
Her visits to the front lines could be a huge boost to have driven our men to win the war.
Such a contrast to today.
Greatest generation
Unity
🇺🇸
Thank you ma'am
She was definately a war hero ❤❤

"Out of decency", what a noble woman.
HEROINE!❤🙏🏻
- female Hero 🌟
You would never see this from a top Hollywood name in this modern age. God bless her and what she did for those troops.
Good job well done
She is a true Heroine and Patriot, I'd like to see her given the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
❤
An example for every decent human being
She was a remarkable lady
She's got a place in heaven
My Dad was one of the first troops in France ! I am Proud of Our Troops but then I have found the American Government gave money to both sides and brought German top Brass to America
Great Actress Who Gave Us Many Enjoyable Movies ❣️
She was a personal friend of Edith Piaf.
I never found her that great looking, attractive, at best, but I have a lot of respect for this woman. She became an American citizen, denounced Hitler, and helped the American troops and America. God bless Marlene Dietrich.❤✝️🇺🇲🙏
She was better than conventionally beautiful. She was super sexy. Totally hot.
She was a great violin player but had an accident and couldn't play any more. She then started playing the saw
Rip
I never knew that about her. This definitely changes my opinion of her.
I have ancestors with the Dietrich name. My Grandfather said we were related to Marlene Dietrich.
Hated by Germans who never forgive her
A great American!
The germans never forgave her for that.
What a wonderful woman!
Rumors were around that every now and then a GI would catch her eye and he'd get lucky.
Wow! Didn't know that about her
Great post but just for the record her name is pronounced Mar-Leen-Nah (not Mar-Leen)
God bless her amen
Marlena ❤
Wonderful woman. How selfless.
Wow. What a woman..
This woman had more sex appeal than any of them! She was terrific! A perfect blend of class & trash!
Mr. Hedgesteff, this is what WOMEN bring to OUR Armed Services! Ms. Dietrich is and will forever be a selfless hero, something you should aspire to!
Yeah this and NOT that. You have no idea what you're talking about and if you're gonna insult someone at least get their name right. Lol!
A very beautiful lady with amazing caring lady ❤️ 💕 ♥️ 💖
It wasn't pronounced Marleen, try pronouncing it as Marlena, even it spelled Marlene. She was beautiful.
