Could we get an olympic weightlifting focused video? Talking about barbells, competition collars, plates? Love to see this focus on the best options for particular sports. Powerlifting specific videos would be great too!
Yield strength is the point where it starts to permanently bend (plastically deform).... ultimate tensile strength is the failure point. Basically, yield strength would be more useful for knowing how good one bar is compared to the next bar or manufacturer, for load withstand... tensile strength is more of a safety value (where the bar breaks and crushes me).
I just don’t understand the units and convertions used on these barbells. An Eleiko with 190k PSI tensile strength can lift 3300 lbs, but a Rogue Barbell with the same 190k psi tensile strength can only lift 1000 lbs. What’s going on ?
If anyone wants a bar that isn’t too pricey but has AMAZING spin there is a hybrid bushing AND bearing bar by Lynx but I’m thinking it’s only 28mm. But it’s fantastic for Olympic lifts. Learned about it from Joel with As Many Reviews as Possible.
Rogue Echo Bar. Same exact bar is the Ohio bar but only comes with Olympic markings and clear zinc finish. That's why it's cheaper than the Ohio bar because they can make longer faster runs of them in manufacturing.
Coop...my man, I have cerebral palsy with poor balance. I can't do regular barbell squats and I am just starting to get heavy in working out (lost 32 lb already and I am switching over to gaining muscle mass). For my squats I just bought everything for a landmine layout. I have my old 1" barbell (5 ft) and I plan to use that little while, but I do want to switch to an Olympic bar. I understand why you would not go cheap on the bar if you are going serious with lifting (dead lifts, etc) , but with landmines, can you just go super cheap with the bar? Does it really matter in that respects?
I own 2 2nd hand bars and both have brown rust discoloration where your hands grip the bar and the sleeves are pocked. One of them is a rogue bar but I’m unsure which. Got them both with my half rack and some plates off marketplace. Probably going to be one of the first things I buy new will be a new barbell
Many people train in a small area at home with walls all around. Could you please do a specific review comparing the different short rackable barbells on the market?
Good video, but Coop... It's time to stop recommending anything Fringe sport. Time and time again they've done shady business tactics. Every time you recommend them they increase the price on that item, they've sold people bars that are defective, they've claimed bars were made in US while they were made in China.
Hope you don't mind the questions. Can you get a barbell with knurling all the way through? for things like a close grip bench/press. And if you from time to time bail when stuck at the bottom of a squat would bearings potentially get damaged, and would a more bendy bar take the impact better ? Particularly if you have a concrete floor + std plates like myself.
American Barbell is higher quality than Rogue. Their industrial chromed sleeve will never chip or flake like Rogue's sleeve does. Their composite bushings are more durable. The tolerances are much tighter making for a very quiet bar with very little slop. The knurl is finer but not exactly "passive" compared to Rogue and still just as grippy if not more. The spin under load is also smoother. You get what you pay for.
For the Ohio bar, anyone have an opinion on whether to choose the chrome or propriety black matte sleeves? I like the look of the black, but wonder about durability and whether chrome would be better in the long run when dragging plates over and over on the sleeve.
I am a power lifter and I love my synergee games barbell! The paint has chipped off a little and it doesn’t look pretty anymore but I’ve had over 550 on a deadlift and it has never bent! It is actually one of my favorite bars!
Can you do a review on the BlueCity bar by Titan Fitness? It's an America made bar and I'm curious if you would recommend it. Was hoping to see it in this video. Thanks and keep up the great work!
He refuses to let Jacob think the Sabre bar is better than the Ohio bar. Jacob dies a little bit inside every time “Ohio Bar” is mentioned --- I’m buying my Ohio bar right now.
What rack would you recommend for someone on a budget (money and space), yet wants to get a quality product that can be expanded and accepts common attachments?
@@bmstylee let say $700ish and my entire "gym" has to fit in a 12x12 room. I know most racks will fit but i would like as much room as possible. Ceiling is not an issue.
@@ajbranson2 the Rogue fold back rack is an option since it folds away and gives you the room partially back. Both Rogue and Rep have nice squat stands. The only down side of the Rep is the footprint is almost the same as a 6 post rack. It's really big for a squat stand. The folder is like $450 and the squat stands are around $550. Regardless of the company stick to the 3"x3" uprights. It's the most popular size with either 5/8" or 1" holes. This will potentially allow you to add accessories from various companies. Quick numbers for a Rep squat stand, FB5000 bench, and spotter arms right around $900 shipped not including taxes. Money can be saved on the bench but I have the fb5000 with the fat pad and it's definitely worth the cash. I wouldn't skip safety catches. Getting hurt can suck bad.

In my opinion the amercan Barbell California bar is better for similar price point. The Ohio bar rattles to much and if noise is an issue at your affiliate this just adds more insult to injury. The AB has a finer knurl. I wouldn’t describe it as more passive than the rogue bar (which I would not say the Ohio bar has aggressive knurl by any means either). Lastly I also prefer 28mm over 28.5mm. Could just be AB quality being better than rogue but the shaft moves around in the sleeve better. Grip has never been an issue for me but I know folks that like the 28mm barbell to save their grip in workouts.
so whats better for bench pressing, shoulder pressing, deadlifts, bent rows?? bushings?Bearings?etc?? Keep in mind i use all budget friendly bars CAP WEIDER etc..Im not into flashy and feel i need big names and spending lots of money. BUT if i wanted something a lil "better"..What is really the option? I dont like super harsh knurling.Matter of fact one bar i have I bought used, flaking paint and zero knurling at all and the ends are so worn down my collars just slide on and off lol..
Did you forgot about the American Barbell California bar? It's better than the Ohio bar in every way and for a similar price. Even the knurl is more grippy than the Ohio bar.
The kid throwing the barbell and screaming… that’s my guy right there! Schools today would probably want to give him hormone blockers and make him take ballerina classes.

I’ve had a Rep Sabre bar for close to 7 years. I’ve had no complaints about it at all. Even after all the time I’ve had it the knurling is still good.
Awesome just ordered one cause it was sale
@@mightymochi6320 sane here. Plus I was able to use a $20 discount from Rep Points $160 OTD.
Let’s gooooo! More Jacob, more weightlifting, more Jacob weightlifting.
LOVE the Fringe Sport Wonder Bar!
Jacob’s baby scream setting a PR is everything.
Baby Jacob inspired Larry wheels to scream 🤣
Keep this series coming. It's cool!
I have a Synergee games bar and I honestly love that thing

Big fan of my Synergee Regional Bar👍🏼💪🏼
I'm would be cool to see one of these for specialty bars
Where does the Rogue Chan bar fall on your list? Thought that bar was made specifically for CrossFit by a CrossFit champion.
The Gungnir All Rounder is amazing!!!! If you only need 1 bar, go with this one! That collar will not move.

I have had rouge Ohio bar and the wonder bar, sold the Ohio and love the wonder bar
Love your videos. 2
Surprised you didn't mention the Eleiko alternative. The Eleiko XF bar. Great bar, but pricey!
Hey coop, any videos how to clean coloured barbells
Please review the rogue ab-3

Honestly the many times Coop has talked about the Mat Chan bar to not even be a runner up was kinda surprising. Decent picks I guess.
I personally love that bar, just a bit expensive to recommend for most people in comparison to the competition.
Yep I love my Chan bar. No bloody shins for me.
Was really expecting to hear from the Matt chan bar.
How about the Rogue Echo ?
Hey Coop have you had a chance to review the EzzBlock dumbbells yet?
Can you review the rogue stump bar? And or other shorty bars
Noticed that you did not mention "Titan Fitness" in your bar analysis. Any thoughts?
Hope you don't mind the questions.

Eleiko is the longest lasting on the market, so i consider them the best brand!
Again Faster 2.0 barbell is a great multi/crossfit barbell as well

The Vulcan Strength Standard bushing bar is an excellent cross fit or general purpose bar. Better than Rogue Ohio IMO
is crossfit even training, i though it was a method of selfharm like cutting or burning?
Отлично!
Hey COOP, several months ago Kabuki teased they would be releasing an Olympic Bar...maybe...how long do you think until that happens? 2032?

I can tell you that I've owned that bar for a few years and it's exceptional. 0 issues, 0 bending, I squat, deadlift, press, bar rocks.

Coop, the bars are fine and good, but what I want to know, is where the heck do you get the music for your videos; it's sick!
Enough with the Rogue love. American Barbell Cali bar is the best.
Nothing on Texas barbell or kabuki strength

I WISH the Synergee Regional was only $150 as stated here.
Some of them are on sale now, at least in Canada, I just picked up the 15kg regional for 130 CAD

The gungnir bar is now $699 soooooo no lol

Century Wavemaster. Buy one and call it good. I have the xxl and it's good for punches and kicks.
Nah man, you missed the Fringe Midas Bar. It is the bar to end all bars! I benched an extra 50# and squatted 100# more on the day I received mine.
I'll save you guys time from watching the video. he' gonna say Rogue or Eleiko are the best.
