It feels like I am a prophet saying this. Injuries really costed this team their post-season. And the irony is, it's on the best guy the Clips have in their roster.

Even before the injuries, I had my doubts that this team could actually win a championship with James Harden still dominating the ball and Paul George still not having enough dog in him and making the most careless turnovers. I didn't see a first round exit happening in January but then said Mavs in 7. I just didn't know way back then how much a couple role players would have as much as they've had to do with the Mavs making it back to the Conference Finals this year or that Luka and Kyrie would step up as much as they have this year on the defensive end.

Imagine what the Clippers could've been if they actually let SGA develop and become the player that he is now for them.

They may have not even needed Kawhi or even if Kawhi didn't demand Paul George, Kawhi and SGA may have been good enough.

So true about homegrown talent and with Lob City, Chris Paul may not have been homegrown but Blake Griffin was. But even while Chris Paul wasn't thomegrown, Blake Griffin was. Even though Lob City failed to make it out of the 2nd round, they played with so much more pride and Chris Paul clearly took a lot of pride in turning the Clippers losing culture around. The Lob City Clippers bled red, white and blue way more than the current Clippers do.

So true! Or if you don't have homegrown talent but play your hearts out day in and night out like this year's Knicks and if you have a great underdog story like Jalen Brunson, that can be fun to root for too. As a Lakers fan first and Knicks fan second, I actually enjoyed watching the Knicks this year much more than the Lakers.

They wouldn’t lose him for nothing. Frees up 40M. Or am I wrong, I don’t know the ins and out of salary cap/luxury tax and if salaries get deferred at all in trades.
I kinda like Russ coming off the bench for a spark. I think if they lose harden, add several younger solid role players and if they can unload PG and some teams will want him, they could make a fun team what’s promising. I didn’t even find this team fun or interesting.

Even if it frees up money, I'd still want to make a sign and trade happen. If the Clippers don't, then yeah they lost him for nothing. Yeah if I were a Clippers fan, I can totally see myself enjoying 2019 a lot more than the last 2 years. Or the 213 era as a whole outside of the one Conference Finals trip. Even though the Lob City Clippers didn't even make the Conference Finals once, they at least bled red, white and blue and had a homegrown star in Blake Griffin. Chris Paul may not have been homegrown but he certainly had way more pride as a Clipper than Kawhi or PG ever had. I really applauded Russ when he chose to come off the bench, but the way the Clippers used him made it easy for the Mavs to bait him into shooting low percentage shots.

@@showtimenick824 I love Ty Lue, magic fan. Exploiting Russ’ willingness to take bad shots is something Lue should address and they should work on as a team.
I’m for blowing it all up, and rebuilding, just personally Russ would be down the line as to where I would start. Harden and George are where I would start and I just don’t know what there options are with kahwi.
Lob city were fully entrenched in clippers culture and they were fun! If your team isn’t gonna be compelling and exciting you need to be winning… and they’ve failed overall at that.

@@sarahsloot2290 I have a T-Mac Magic jersey I got at a thrift shop near my house. I wore it in my Aaron Gordon video.
What I think should really happen if they want to Russ ro not get baited into shooting 3s, have him start and have him bring the ball up the court. Harden should go back to his 6th man days. Much respect to Russ for his willingness to sacrifice but he's just not capable of adapting.
I think Russ still has some trade value. The Lakers were able to trade him when he had a terrible contract but now teams can bring him in cheap. If I'm a Clippers fan, I'd say thanks for breaking the 2nd round curse Paul George, but I won't miss how mentally weak he is. More than anything though, Lawrence Frank needs to be fired immediately and the fact that he hasn't already been fired is so mind boggling.
I completely agree about Lob City! They may have had chemistry problems but at least they were exciting. Or this year's Knicks, they may have been a second round exit and as much as injuries killed them, I didn't think they were winning a championship anyways even if fully healthy. However, they were fun to watch this year because they play their hearts out in every single game.
