Tom jones STILL has a magnificent voice. Full power, phenomenal range, incredible performances. He still sells out arenas internationally. He’s a judge on THE VOICE UK,+ sings impromptu, no mic+ knocks it out of the park. Hasn’t lost a thing- amazing!!!!
"I'LL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN" and "GREEN GREEN GRASS OF HOME" also showcases Sir Tom Jones' incredible vocals. In my early 20's, I was invited to one of his concerts in New York, back in 1984 - his energy on stage was off the charts during the whole performance, even though he was in his mid 40's at the time. It was absolutely astonishing to watch women of all ages literally go crazy over this guy (while throwing panties onto the stage...) - I'd never seen anything like it before or since then. Sir Tom Jones can still belt out songs at the age of 81, which is remarkable.
I have been going through your reactions and love your imput etc. Tom Jones sure has one of the greatest vocals I have heard and still does today. and hit hits go as long as any others .
I loved your facial reaction to the lyrics of this song!!! What made the song was Tom Jones's voice. By the time he recorded this song he already had a few hits so the concentration was on his voice. He is one of the great voices of the '60s. I used to watch his TV show in the '60s every week. Thanks for sharing your reaction!
My mom was IN LOVE with Tom Jones and NEVER missed his weekly show.. I saw Tom in concert probably 30 years ago when my best friend took me and her mom. The music was great. The crowd was "fun" - so many women throwing their hotel keys on stage AND their panties!! 🤭
You may have noticed how far away he was holding the mic. It would have been on the lowest setting as well. He couldn't sing any other way but full blast. He is a judge on The Voice in the UK and the other judges often ask him to sing something whilst waiting for the next contestant. He knew Elvis quite well. He's a national treasure over here.
I have been a fan of this man since way back then. I was around 16 when I first heard this powerful hit. So glad he is still doing so good. The man is still a powerhouse. Thank you for the video. Deme in Bama😊
This shows off Tom’s amazing vocals & moves, but you need to hear his love songs: “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”, “I Who Have Nothing”. Tom is a judge on “The Voice” in the UK. He sings frequently & you’ll see if you check it out, he Still belts it. He just released a new Album which has gone to #1 in the UK. His wife put up with a lot, but sometimes I think Paul McCartney was the only rockstar in those years who had a truly monogamous marriage. The only nights Paul & Linda were away from each other in 30 years was when he was busted in Japan for marijuana possession, and actually spent time in jail. I don’t judge the others. Groupies were all around. These guys would have had to be saints at their young ages to resist that temptation. Sir Paul is not only a Knight, he was a family man deeply in love with Linda. Listen to Paul sing “Maybe I’m Amazed”, one of countless songs he wrote for his lovely Linda who died at age 56.
I Love Tom Jones. I really like this song, but it is really different than his others. TY for reacting to this Chad. Just don't judge Tom on this one song. He is really good.
He has lots of amazing solo performances, but also check out some of the amazing duets Tom has done... He's sung with Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, Little Richard, and many more. He did an awesome performance with Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young (CSN&Y) on his show in 1969. Plus later collabs with artists like Tina Turner, Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck, Jools Holland, Van Morrison, Alison Krause, Helene Fischer, and others.
My, my, Chad! You picked the perfect song for your introduction to Tom Jones. I consider him as more of a Vegas-style lounge singer, but a great one. He was known for his sex appeal, and women in the audience were known to throw their panties at him as he sang. It's been ages since I've seen him . Thanks for the memory. Now I need to go take a cold shower.
My mom just adored Tom Jones. People said his name with "reverence" and women went crazy over him. But I'm shocked at the lyrics now that you read them.
I couldn't stand Tom Jones' music when I was younger, I especially disliked his voice. But my opinion of him started to change when I saw him in Mars Attacks!. I had free tickets to see him in concert sometime between 2004 and 2015 when I worked at a newspaper. He is a very dynamic performer and I have come to really appreciate his vocals. 😊🥰 The song Delilah, with all those Spanish-sounding horns, evokes to me an image of a hot-blooded, impulsive, possessive man, so I'm not surprised how the story ended. For songs a lot less intense, try It's Not Unusual or She's a Lady; for something really different, he released a song called Sexbomb in 1999 you may want to react to.
Tom had a way with the ladies. I remember this song but never really listened to the lyrics either. The first song I think of when I hear his name is "What's New Pussycat? Wo wo wo.... " (1965) , unusual for sure. Maybe you should check it out. I think "She's a Lady" was a good one. 🙂🙂🙂
I usually don't comment on other groups of people that often other than my favorite. However when I saw this one I thought of my mother LOL! She absolutely adored him. However later in his career he was a little bit more loose and relaxed in his style. He definitely had the early 70s Vibe going on in those videos. He is looking very tame in this one LOL!
Wow, you aren’t THAT young are ya? Tom Jones probably has the largest fan based panty collection in history! They used to throw them up on stage decades ago now. You have GOT to react to “Ill know fall in love again” and watch the video to “Treat Her Right”.... SO hilariously awesome
Wendy, you're mistaken. This performance of Delilah WAS aired on The Ed Sullivan Show... on April 21st, 1968. Tom did two songs for that show. The first was "It's Not Unusual." Exact same set, and same orchestra. Ed Sullivan himself introduced Tom for the first song. A video of it, including that intro, is on UA-cam. See for yourself: ua-cam.com/video/nagjPyNMu9Q/v-deo.html&start_radio=1 Tom's show, "This Is Tom Jones," came later... starting in 1969, and ran three successive seasons. Chad and viewers of his reaction channel definitely should check out more of Tom's many incredible performances. Tom Jones is a gold mine of talent, energy, charisma... so much to enjoy.
Hope this isn't repetition as my first remark doesn't come up for me. Just finished his bio recently. The Welsh were famed for their vocal talents. His voice could blow the hinges off a barn door. Tom was dirt poor and promoted as a tough coal miner but never was due to having had tuberculosis as a kid. He was buff but as a construction worker. He was the first as far as I know to be a panty magnet and it started in Las Vegas when a woman doffed her undies and heaved them at him. Since then they bought NEW ones to throw, likely a relief over the "gently used" version. To see his panty magnet moves watch "It's not unusual" ua-cam.com/video/nagjPyNMu9Q/v-deo.html Tons of hits, Green green grass of home, What's new pussycat, Detroit City, I'll never fall in love again.
I heard this song a million times growing up and never paid attention enough to know it was about a man murdering his cheating girlfriend. Oh man, I am shooketh. lol. There is no denying Toms talent though. He had quite a few excellent songs in the 60s and 70s. The best I can remember is "I will Never Fall in love again". I'm sure all the cheating ladies are glad to hear that. ua-cam.com/video/6WvVyk9DA6s/v-deo.html
Okay, first I have to admit I bought a Tom Jones album in 1994 called "The Lead and How to Swing It." I actually liked it - kind of updated r&b/dance numbers. I do not understand the undergarment throwing factor, but it's still real. The guy has a great big voice. When I was in elementary school we watched his TV variety show. I didn't like "Delilah" much as a kid, and still really don't. I just respect his voice. Now, for the important stuff. Tom Jones recorded our perfect Barry, Robin and Mo masterpiece, "To Love Somebody," and it's good. Never as good as Barry and the brothers, but good. There's one for you to listen to Chad. Here's a link if you would like. ua-cam.com/video/l2OgAYpjoFs/v-deo.html
I know he had a big following, but I'm not going to be a groupie, lol. I think Dean Martin has him beat hands down for vocals. And I know that alot of people are going to write me nasty replies, so save your breath and don't, this is just my personal opinion. It obviously differs from yours if you want to write something to me, just remember, I was born in the 70s, and was probably raised in a different place than you. So, we have different ideas and points of view. But, I am a Bee Gees addict, and like almost all genres of music, so let's just get along.
I think Dean Martin was the best of the Rat Pack. People are blown away that I prefer him to Sinatra. Dean was a crooner. Tom was a belter. If you want to be wooed, I’d go with Dean. If you’re in the mood to be bowled over, maybe Tom.
This is not among my favorite Tom Jones songs, simply because I don't think infidelity is a capitol offense, but men have been signing about killing their wives or girlfriends from Johnny Cash to Hendrix's Hey Joe, to Papa Loved Mama and Ol' Red. I just think it's sad that this is still considered an acceptable theme, but there you have it. But you can see what a smart singer Tom Jones is/was. He really, REALLY knew his voice, what it could and couldn't do, and knew just what to do to get the most out of it.
Huge song, huge orchestration by Les REED, huge interpretation. At listening to it, i'm always remembering how many times he cheated on his wife... Love Tom and this song, but I hate really the lyrics about the murder. After the awful act, I would prefer that he sang "Now, I'm going to the police to be arrested" and not waiting cowardly at home. It would by far be more braver and moral. ... Such lyrics could justify crimes of passion! And some suggestible people could be influenced ... In the same kind of lyrics, I hate also those of "Requiem pour un fou" by Johnny Hallyday.
Never cared for tom, his wife past not long ago. It. Had to be ok for his cheating ways, she agreed. They where married to each other for her life. Chad👋👋
Ballad of the early days? Ballads go waaaaaaaaay back. We used to call them love songs. In Spanish, they were known as 'boleros' and they have always been around. Reach further back in time cuz you're missing a lot of good songs, music and lyrics.
I wasn't a big fan. He had more of my mother's generation going gaagaa over him. The panty throwing was notorious with this guy. My mother's favorite song was Hello Pussycat which I think became a song in a James Bond movie. I was too busy with the Beatles and the Bee Gees and the rest of the Mercy Beat groups from the UK and the Southern California sound like Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles. The sensorship for TV was real strict in those. They would only allow Elvis Presley to be shot from his waist up because he would grind his pelvis while he was singing. There was also a thing called band in Boston because if a song was too controversial like Barry Maguire's Eve of Distruction and Mitch Rider's songs. If you really want to hear a song that is just as true today as it was in the 60s listen to Barry Maguire's Eve of Destruction. Awesome song.
Tom was such a supreme talent. Back in the 60's, whenever Tom was appearing on TV, the entire family gathered to watch. A great song as well!

He is 80 and just put out another album and still has that voice

My mom too. That was good because we watched his show.
Green Green grass of home, I'll never fall in love again...Welsh singers are often great tenors. You'll love them.
delilah big stoke song
You should also listen to I'll Never Fall In Love Again
Try His song “I’ll Never Fall In Love Again” Live. He’s been the real deal for decades

one of the most beautiful Viennese waltz ever.
Chad, please react to Tom Jones, "I'll Never Fall In Love Again", 1967. His voice is incredible!
The minute you realized what the song is about. lol
This shows off Tom’s amazing vocals & moves, but you need to hear his love songs: “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”, “I Who Have Nothing”. Tom is a judge on “The Voice” in the UK. 56??? No, 75.
Tom Jones had an amazing set of pipes and quite the moves onstage. I can see why women threw their panties on stage. LOL.
I Love Tom Jones. I really like this song, but it is really different than his others. TY for reacting to this Chad. Just don't judge Tom on this one song. He is really good.
Tom should be up there with the greats like Elvis and Sinatra. He still has that voice 50 years later
Your facial expressions are killing me! 😂
He has lots of amazing solo performances, but also check out some of the amazing duets Tom has done... He's sung with Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, Little Richard, and many more. Love Tom who btw, has my maiden name. This is a great song. Thank you, Chad. You'll love Sir Tom. I promise you.
✌️❤️
You will love him!!
Genial TOM ...QUE VOZ!!!💛💪💪💪💪
This is my favorite Tom Jones song!

Love the new intro Chad!!

Love the new opening. If you'd like to react to another Tom Jones, She's a Lady would be a good choice. Thanks.
Wow, killed the woman he loved. No going back from that.

Yep to Tom, and not sorry, lol!
