When people from outside of Europe wonder about the enthusiasm of football (soccer) fans and the structural integrity of the stadiums, I tell them Europe has learned from the past. Events like the Heizeldrama (Belgium, 1985), Bradford City (United Kingdom, 1985), Hillsborough (Sheffield, United Kingdom, 1989), etc led to regulations about structural integrity, crowd control, flow of ingress & egress etc. to become extremely strict. Not just on a national level, but issued by the EU. Stadiums have been closed. Matches have been cancelled. Entire fanclubs have been banned from attending. For some matches, the decision was taken to ban all spectators. What you see in the first video is the surface. What happens behind the scenes and the enormous safety apparatus, the tests, the massive amount of security before, during and after is not shown. The second video shows part of that: the tests being constantly run to monitor the integrity of the building to make sure it doesn’t collapse. There are stadiums and events where flares and fireworks are not allowed. Jumping around and chanting are, and you can bet that if someone thinks the building isn’t up to it, evacuation would be a given. Before a match, the organisers and the stadium have to work together and do their homework based on which teams are playing, past behaviour of fanclubs, stats and estimates of which fanclubs are attending (and how many) etc. Evacuation plans are handed in for approval, even the mayor/city council/police forces get involved. Depending on the numbers, the plan is then adapted and in certain cases, groups are banned, certain items are banned, or even matches have been cancelled. It’s not a guarantee nothing will happen. That would be impossible. But past events have led to serious measures and accountability because yes, in the past lives have been lost. And football (soccer) is very, very serious business among fans. Stadium owners, club owners and the authorities know that a lot of fans live for ‘their’ club. You need to work with what you have and still keep everyone as safe as possible. Part of it is a pretty darn strong building.
Indeed the club was founded in 1964 mergering 2 clubs BrøndbyØster IF (East) and BrøndbyVester IF(West), with the promise from the mayor that a stadium would be build for the club. Also it was the first pro football club in danmark. Until then top league football was only on amateur level. 01:00 Thety sing: We dream the the gold vil return home. just like we did banck in 2005. I skal forbydes fra fodbold, eller også skal i have jer selv under kontrol. Jeg giver ikke en fuck hvad i laver på stadium, eller hvis i slås med andre ultras. Men jeres opførelse uden for fodbold verden er totalt uacceptabel.
The football club is officially named Brøndbyernes Idrætsforening. Something like The Brøndby Sports Association. But we just say Brøndby on a daily basis. The town is also named Brøndby and the club logo is the same as the city logo. The flag you mentioned is croatian. It's common to see national flags of the foreign players we have in the club. Sydsiden means South Side and is the name of the end of the stadium where the most vocal fans are at.
when u see European stadiums bounce, they are build to do that, so they dont break... same reason why a car has shocks, or why a skyscraper sways in the wind...
In all basics friend they're explaining that you actually feel weightless at some points when it bounces the most and that it feels like an earthquake.. But the stadium is safe, it actually went trough some renovation not long ago, it's build to take this kind of a beating..🥳👍
