I loved this video. Explained the solution very clearly and quickly. Good quality footage mixed with concise narration made this an excellent tutorial.
short and to the point with options and details. Well spoken with no ahs and clearly understood with great examples shown. There should be a super like for shorts like this one.
I am SO EXCITED I found this video! Thank you so much for explaining this! My boyfriend insisted we couldn't hang anything in our apartment because we have plaster walls but I think these mollies are the way to go. I'm presenting him with this video so he knows that even if we put holes in the wall, we can still get that deposit back ;) Thanks again!
Be aware that plaster (as opposed to drywall) is sometimes fragile and difficult to repair. I would never recommend the ballpeen hammer solution on a plaster wall, you could do a lot of damage to the plaster. The other solutions shown here should work fine IMO but don't overestimate the weight you can put on your drywall anchor in plaster either! If in doubt, make sure your stuff is fastened to studs rather than to the plaster & lath
Ron, you saved my wall, sanity and kitchen! Thank you for making this video, 2 out of 8 of my Molly bolts failed because I overtightened them (fixing a tall thin aluminium radiator to a drywall). Now I can finish my tiling and get on with my life. 😊
My goodness.... had I known this before I saw other videos... I just tried the first method out and it worked like a charm. Thank you for publishing this!
You made it look so easy. It took me ten minutes to scrape the excess spackle away in a way that looked decent. It was my first time. I thank you. Whoever made this video. Thumbs up.
What a wonderful video on how to remove a moly bolt wall hanger. Three easy options to handle this dilemma were explained clearly in the video. It makes me feel stupid that I could not come up with any of the methods shown. Thank you Ron for your help! I will give you a "thumbs up" and subscribe to your channel. I know you will be of help to me in the future.
Wish I would have seen this video 1 hour ago. Didn’t know what I was dealing with and now it looks like like Batman shot his grappling gun through my wall.
Ha! After DECADES of working with these things, it never occurred to me to just back out the screw part way and whack it a few times with a hammer to stretch the interior fingers back out so the whole thing would just pull out without making a huge hole. Thanks for such useful tip!
Simple and made a big mess of my wall... easiest to take a drill bit slightly larger than the hole...drill surface which loosens face. W needle nose pliers remove face. Use original bolt to push receiver into wall.. Way easier...
Second method works when the Molly fails because the threaded part breaks off somehow when installing. Nice part is you have the drill right there to do it. 😊
Never though of how to remove the whole fastener, usually just sold the house and started over in a new one.
Now its my problem eh?! 😅😅
Reading this made my day. 😂😂😂
A lot of people don't remove the whole fastener, since they could just push it further in and cover with drywall compound
You win the internet.
At last, a way to deal with plaster walls that actually works!

You the man, Ron. Never thought it would straighten out with the hammer trick, but it did. Saved me a big hassle. Cheers!

Excellent video with clear descriptions and visuals. Love using these as ways to hang frames on the wall
Watched a ton of other videos on this one. But this one had the most succinct explanations with the best lighting. Thanks!

Ron--I looked at three others videos. Not one was nearly as helpful as yours. Tks!
Thank you very much this is exactly the information that I needed. I removed the anchor successfully.

Thank you very much, easy peasy!!
Wish I saw this when I took whatever it was off the wall a few years ago. Options 2 & 3 will work just fine. Thanks for posting.
Excellent instructions! Don't peel back the bolt shoulder (as shown on other videos) ... do this instead!! Thank you, Ron

Thanks. Pulling tore the heck out of the wall. Drilling the head off worked the best for me. They get hot, so be careful.

Same thing happened to me, maybe it's a youtube joke, they see you damaged your wall and THEN they send you a video on how you should have done it.
Very good sir.

Do you do voiceovers for news cast?
Second method works when the Molly fails because the threaded part breaks off somehow when installing. Nice part is you have the drill right there to do it. 😊
Great thanks
I tried this and it didn’t stretch out! I should have tried option 2. Good thing I bought a large bucket of spackle!
Amazing!!!!!
Tried the first method, now I have a huge hole in my wall. Thanks?
Duh, never thought of that always just drive them through and patched .
Awesome things I learned way too late in life.
Neat!
AHHHHHHHHHHHH! WTF! Thank you but I wish I saw this before I punched 25+ of these through the wall!
GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY !
Wow ‘
The last option is the laziest one though and not very welcoming for the next household that may want to drill another hole there
How often does lightning strike?
i almost ripped a large hole in the drywall trying to pull one of these shits out
You forgot the Kyle Monster energy drink method
Lost a job cuz i didnt know how to remove a molly bolt
Please explain how
A real workmen would only use the first method of completely removing the Molly bolt.
Well mostly DIY'ers come here to see these videos so...
