Absolutely some of the best scenery I've seen yet! It's style and proportions capture the look and feel of the C&O perfectly...tall trees and mountains, small companies and houses, rock walls and tunnels...perfect!
Thanks for the come back on the switches. There is a possibility the PARF layout will be rebuilt, if so want to do it better, and switches were a problem in the past. By the way "awestruck" is when one has no words, aughstruck is the sound (augh)one makes when they hit the floor. I hunt and peck the keyboard. Woops!
tsbnh0 Thank you. Ted has gone to great lengths to get the scenery correct. When you walk into his layout room, you say YES. The locos were weathered by Ken Dasaro from photos that Ted sent.
Outstanding! Thank you for replicating what our area looked like back then. You did an amazing job. Hello from Logan. I always wondering what that old Berkshire at Chief Logan St. Park looked like in action, now I know. More videos please!
Lots of great work and fine detail. THANKS for sharing... (Nice video too, you avoided the 'cutesy' music so many others use. I enjoyed listening to the locos...)
This video shows up in my recommendations every so often, and I always have to watch it every time. As someone who has lived around this area all his life and is actually within about a 45 minute or less drive of most of the towns portrayed on this layout and visits them fairly regularly, I can say for sure that you definitely nailed the look of this place. The trees, the steep cliffs, the rocky outcroppings in the mountains, it's all dead on! If I had to point out one thing, it's that the old coaling tower in Thurmond is square and not round like the one in the video. However, the shell of the Hinton coaling tower still stands and it's round like the one in this video, as is the one in Ronceverte. Nit-picky I know but I figured since you are so adamant about getting everything as accurate as possible you might be interested. Anyways, awesome work!
Ted's C&O looks great as always. I loved seeing this. Great photography. I hope you will do another with the CTC at Alleghaney when it is operational. BTW many of the switches were built by Ted using Fast Tracks jigs. John Rogers
Great scenery and, especially, the trees! Would love to see a tutorial video on how you made the trees and scenery. Some of the most realistic I've seen on UA-cam yet!
This is a beautiful model railroad. Be curious how he does his trees. Nice videography, presentation. As always though, I want to see an overview of the layout.
A gorgeous video! Only a couple times did the passenger train go a bit too fast for the camera to catch and blurred a bit, but even that looked good. I saw a Shay back hiding that needs to be featured! Shays are my favorites. Was Floquil Sea Green or something similar to tie together the town's paint scheme? And do i see Magnusen buildings? Well done, and thanks for posting!
Wow! Everything is amazing! I don;t know how much I would do so I can use my ho trains here. I have track and everything, but not enough room in my home! D: I own a large consist of stock, 1 2-4-2 steam engine by Canadian Pacific, a small 2-4 steam engine by Santa Fe, a EMD-60 by Chessie System, a small shunter, and another steam engine. I own loads of scenery, including a few collectibles. :) I don't know where I'm gonna put all my trains. They don't run all the way around when I think of a layout and build it. ):
Switches are a combination of walthers and micro engineering. I am not sure about the trees. I believe they are a combination of Super Trees and home made trees. The manufacture of the trees Im not sure of, but pretty sure they are called SuperTrees.
Hands down the best scenery I've ever seen. Wow.

The scenery was amazing and the natural light gave it a very realistic feel.
Fantastic! Just SUPERB modeling. A joy to watch. Gotta get your video from Naces when it's released! Thanks for the teaser. 👍😊.
I like this. I like the layouts where the train itself is the focal point and not the layout it self.
I thought this video was real footage for a minute! Excellent layout!
The Trains and scenery is amazing
Wonderful steam locomotives!
Beautiful layout and great steam power, nice photo work, thanks.

Beautiful layout and rolling stock, thanks for sharing
A great layout and track design and my favorite railroad
Outstanding scenery -- Ted you ought to give the rest of us a scenery and tree making video.
Amazing scenery.
Lovely Kittens all. Keep up the C & O tradition!!!
Awesome layout, details, weathered engines and cars and video!! My compliments sir
Very nice! :)
Beautiful engines and the trees look so realistic.
Great layout and video.
Outstanding layout! The trees make a major contribution to its prototypical impression. The engines are great.

Very, very realistic. Really enjoyed this!
This almost looks real, amazing job

Wow that scenery is incredible! The steam locomotives aren't bad either :)
Micro cannin
i have an obsession with steam trains, so this video was real nice to watch.

Now. thaaaat my friends is a nice layout.

I saw a climax. Perhaps there was a Shay that I missed, though.
Michael Loveland , i only know the colors match the actual town. The scenery is wonderful and faithful.
Highly realistic.
Steam Locomotives On Chesapeake & Ohio Railway pulls freight and passenger trains.
More vids please.

A Greenbriar with elephant ear smoke deflectors? That's a first. Where is your place of residence: USA? Canada? Etc.?
I like the turning tatio not to sharp to derail.
What tree brand did you use, they look fantastic!
本物ソックリ。HOの断り書きが無ければ、うっかり本物と見間違いそうだ。
ジオラマの石垣も良く出来ている。山の木も木立も超リアルで凄いな~!!
like the berkshires
cool

Where'd the h-7 come from?
Aughstruck, just beautiful. may I ask whos switches and turn outs did you use?
how large (or small) is your layout? very nice video.....great scenic king and track work
Beautiful layout. Which manufacturer makes the trees?
Are those also smokers?
No.
wich manufracturer made the greenbriere 613? btw awsome work to the scenerie
Key imported the 613.
You forgot about the alleghany
IO think that was a 2-6-6 4 at 2.20 not a 4-6-4
What's with all the "Dead Head" loco's? That's not normal on a railroad.
Got to love the layout!
Unlike many other model railroaders, they run their trains at realistic speeds.
