Sir, A)One supplier agrees to supply goods in his customer's warehouse for Rs.50,000/- but at the time of delivery of goods in customer's warehouse, customer paid Rs.5,000/- as a freight on behalf of supplier. As per the valuation rule, the supplier should add this Rs.5,000/-along with Rs. 50,000/-, then the total will be Rs.55,000/- and the GST will be applied on Rs.55,000/-, but if this is the case, how can supplier add Rs.5,000/- in his bill of Rs.50,000/-.? because Freight amount is paid by supplier, and when we issue invoice to customer how can again show this amount in bill, . If we do not show this 5,000/- in the bill we can not show the correct GST amount in the bill. B) Also please note that it is said if any interest for delayed payment, that also should be shown while valuation ; but at the time of billing , how can supplier know , when customer is going to pay the bill with interest amount ?, then how can we show this amount in valuation ? . If I am not mistaken we should show the correct GST amount in the bill, so if we want to show correct GST amount in the BILL, we will have to show (i.e if there is any interest ) interest amount also in the bill., please guide me sir .
Thankachan Sir...asked 2 brilliant questions..ok A)Normally, as per GST Rule any expense incurred by supplier which related to Outward supply should be added with GST supply (sales). If any thing missed , that leads to a shortage in Supply amount, Supplier needs to issue Debit Note to increase supply value. Here normally supplier need to include Freight/transportation charges to outward supply. But mostly not doing this.Receiver paying freight charges and later supplier reimbursing these freight charges. SUPPLIER :CAN issue DEBIT NOTE for this and correct their supply value. RECEIVER: can account this debit note issued by Supplier and can debit the amount( already paid to freight lorry) in Supplier's Ledger account. B)At the time of billing supplier will not know, when customer will give payment against this bill. Correct Thankachan sir..But,... Under GST law, taxable value is the transaction value i.e. price actually paid or payable, provided the supplier & the recipient are not related, and price is the sole consideration. So , if there is any condition between , Supplier and Receiver that there will be a interest on late payment. Then , in that situation, if any late payment happened, supplier needs to issue Debit note to increase the supply value. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I think, based on your question, you may be working in Accounts/Finance field. So you know, Whenever supplier needs to increase supply value NEEDS ISSUE DEBIT NOTE & whenever needs to decrease supply value NEEDS TO ISSUE CREDIT NOTE. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you sir, for your good questions...ABOVE SHOWN IS ONLY MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE GST LAW.Kindly clarify this with Chartered Accountant Or Experienced GST PRACTIONER. and kindly share their view also. GST is a vast subject. So these discussion will help for better undestanding of the Gsr law. Thanks...
